How many former Dolphins on that Buffalo team? Richie Incognito Reggie Bush Charles Clay Mike Gillislee Dan Carpenter Did I miss anyone? Watched the game with my wife and it was a stream of, "That guy's a former Dolphin...and that guy...and that guy...." Then again, they've now got a former Jets coach as their HC...they're like some sort of AFCE Frankenstein.
If you didn't notice, Rex Ryan has a habit of making players that used to play for their opponents Captains for that game.
Clay would be nice, but not worth the money he got in Free Agency. Ditto with Lamar Miller for that matter.
It's one of the few pages of Billycheats' book that Rex CAN comprehend....and for that, Rex embellishes. Todd Bowles doesn't strike me as the egotistical type, but there's still two teams in our division....just dying to rub our former players in our faces. Anyone dropped gets an audition; just for knowing their former team's playbook.
Mario Williams still had the greatest impact of all players facing former teams, so yeah... We had that goin for us... Which was Nice.
Your inability to comprehend his contract is what's funny. Just to refreach your memory: The five-year, $38 million contract contains $24.5 million in fully guaranteed money, which ranks first in the NFL among tight ends (in 2015 when he got that deal). Through 7 games he's got 268 yards and Zero TD's. That's 39 a game. Never liked the Cameron deal but at the end of this year he can walk as a FA and were not on the hook for any dead money. The Bills got raped and they're still paying the bum at least 7.5mil a year for 3 more years for a 500 - 600 yards a year guy. Clay is a beast? Did I miss something? When did that EVER happen.
He did enough when he was here, he caught touchdowns and blocked on the line. Saying he did nothing when he was here is what made your comment funny. Free Agency is a *****, no comment on his contract.
He never hit 800 yards in any year he was here and had 2-3 TD's a year except one. One TD every 5 - 8 games I guess is your gold standard. But he was a good blocker, better then Richie. Our line has suffered at Guard since he left. But you would rather have Clay because he was an impact guy. And then saying you would rather have him and then not comment on the monster contract is really weak since THAT'S why he was allowed to leave. OK sure.
I'm not debating that he got overpaid, I stated I miss him more than I miss Incognito. You made more out of if from there by bringing up the money, and stated Clay did nothing when he was here.
Yes, he has yet to hit 800 yards but he was a beast in 2013 and still solid in 2014 playing hurt most of the year. The Bills are a run heavy offense so of course his receiving numbers are going to be less there. His contract is a bit of an albatross but I still think he's one of the better receiving TE's out there. Yes, having Incognito and his gentlemanly behavior back would be a greater help to our team. He was a jack-arse now doubt then. Seems like he's getting along pretty well in Boof now. And since were looking at who of all the players you would rather have back that would be the guy. Not Clay and his ****ty performance since he's left but hey he was a beast - almost 4 years ago. He's not even in the top 10 this year = 18th. Sorry on every level your position doesn't hold water.
