Fall 2017. Xbox One, Playstation 4. No PC version? Screw off with that, Rockstar.
There were rumors that it was gonna be a prequel, but I really hope it isn't. John Marston is a great character but I think they could go another route and still succeed.
I'm willing to not write it completely off, because Rockstar generally makes good games, and sometimes the second game of a series can be much better than the first. But man, was I bored to tears by the original. Played it, put it down for months, gave it another try, and then eventually gave up on it and gave it away. The game felt extremely lonely and empty.
Oh really? I had absolutely no idea. Must have completely missed the first one. I got the first one after multiple people implored me to try it out and I found it in the clearance bin at Target for like $15. I totally get that my opinion is different than most, but thats ok.
Damn you Rockstar. Damn you to hell. Can't wait. I'd be more stoked if they confirm PC day and date release.
Its hard to really tell a lot from the trailer, but the graphics do seem like a big upgrade from the previous one, especially the nature scenes.
I'd assume it's the same engine but cranked up to GTA5 levels. Not having to worry about ps3/360 helps alot with textures and tricks to make it look good.
https://www.vg247.com/2018/10/15/red-dead-redemption-2-actors-dan-houser/ Interesting take on how Rockstar has stopped using name actors in their games. They haven't really since San Andreas, which came out in 2004. https://www.vg247.com/2018/10/23/red-dead-redemption-2-physics-ai-euphoria-phil-hooker-interview/ This is a good, long article about the game itself. I'm not going to buy it right now. I'll probably not get any more new games this Autumn. But I'll keep an eye on it. I originally planned to get GTA5 for the PS4 when it dropped to a $20 game and....that never happened, so we'll see.
