Id say the side of the ball he is most involved with looked incompetent most of the day. But to be fair if Stills worthless *** catches a pass we lead that game the entire time. You cant expect the D to hold other teams to 12 points very often though. Gotta get more out of your offense and the playcalling left a lot to be desired. I think Gase will be a good coach but this wasnt a great start by any means. I was most disappointed in the lack of adjustments from the O. It was clear we werent going to dink 3 yard passes down the field on them and the zone but we kept doing it for 3.5 qtrs. Sea is too good and tackles too good to rely on 2 yard passes. If we come out with the same game plan next week we will again struggle to score.

Thought taking the shorter routes was the right way to go on this team, but given Stills being wide open on that freaking drop I would have liked to see the push the ball downfield a little more. Thill probably didn't have a whole lolt of time for plays to develop like that though, As the game went on he had less time to throw.

Well, coming from what the expectations were before the game, I think the team overall did very well. They all but beat Seattle in their house on opening day. Overall both teams seemed to struggle closing drives on offense. For Miami, it has to be Gase and Stills as the primary blame. You couldn't ask the defense for much more, except maybe another sack or an int on that last drive. If they continue to play hard and keep trying to improve, they will keep us in most games. If the offense starts to click, we could be right back at the top of the division with the cheats. All my friends look at the Dolphins as the worst team in the afc east. Many of them are Bills fans since I'm in upstate NY. Hopefully this team can prove them all wrong.

Colin Cowherd just ripped the hell out of Tannehill.

I have no problem at all with going for it. I actually liked the decision but you have to sneak it there or even get really ballsy and play action rollout. Most likely youll have a wide open td or thill will have space to run. I hated the playcall not the decision. Normally in order to beat a good team on the road you cant settle for fg so in that respect i was all for going for it. Just not a smart play choice. I can easily over look that though. Im more concerned with the constant force feeding of 2 yard completions especially to Landry. Whats the point? Might as well run with Foster if youre going to throw 2 yards downfield. I think Gase will be a really good coach but i was disappointed in his offense and some of his decisions. I should probably temper my expectations of Gase until he actually shows something. So close to being 1-0 on the road vs a good team and in typical Dolphins fashion we do just enough to lose.

What I liked was that Gase seemed to have a coherent plan, not a bunch of random plays selected from the playbook.

He had genuine screen passes close to the LOS designed to punish over aggressive pursuit by the D. Not only did they work in terms of gaining yardage, but Seattle's backed off and became less aggressive.
A couple of scheduled Tannehill runs kept the Seahawks spying on him.
By keeping the Hawks D on the conservative side opened up some deep routes where Tannehill had time to throw.
The wide 9 kept Wilson contained, even on the final drive when people are saying the D looked gassed Wilson had to work extremely hard and there were good opportunities for the D to seal the game.

Colin ALWAYS rips Tannehill. I like Colin but he has always been overly critical of Thill. Given how much love he used to give Colin Kaepernick, I don't let it concern me.
