can't wait for the midfield logo and the end zones painted some orange would look nice with the aqua seats
Man, compare that with the way that the stadium looked in the 80s and 90s before the previous remodel, and its such a huge change.
I didn't realize the player area was so large. No way to move the seats any closer.
That's really not that bad now. It was double that before. I think its as close as most other stadiums now.
DJ, how many other stadiums have you been to? This isn't a **** measuring contest, or me trying to be a prick, I'd honestly like to know. You have to have some sort of reference. For me, I've been to Soldier Field (Bears), EverBank (Jags), Raymond James (Bucs), the Georgia Dome (Falcons), CenturyLink Field (Seahawks), First Energy Stadium (Browns) MetLife (Jets/Giants), AT&T (Cowboys), and Bank of America (Panthers). Our seats are either closer or normal compared to all of those. So, for me, when you say things like that, then I need to know if you've been to any other stadiums to have a point of reference. Because, I'm not sure that you do, which makes your opinion proven incorrect by facts. Now again, maybe you've been to a bunch, and someone out there has been to others that I haven't, or more than I have, and can lead credence to a viewpoint. However, I don't think you'll see that. EDIT: And I know that older stadiums, sans recent upgrades, are worse than us too. Either because they operated as dual fields, they have that circular/oval/coliseum type infrastructure, or from past regulations.
I've been to a lot, really don't want to get into it, but the majority of stadiums, their first row is closer than we are, it's not a big deal, I'm grateful because I know how bad this one was, I'm the one who's been lobbying hard for them to move the stands closer for years..and they did..and they added a roof, so I'm not complaining truly, but I know what the stadium will provide.
Now, the first row of seats are about the same distance in these two photos. So that is what I'm talking about. Of course the rest of the seats are farther away. But they were always like that PLUS the first row was double the distance.
I agree... also note that our endzone seats are much closer and completely enclosed on both ends compared to the seahawks stadium. If they could figure out a cleaver way to close off the open air section, as long as it has some transparency and a material that doesn't absorb acoustic reflection, around the area between the top of the seats and the roof, I think that would trap all the sound in and point it towards the field and then we have, the potential, of being just as loud of a stadium... Provided all of the fans are in their seats, energized and being as loud etc.
I'm telling you guys. You can look at all the pictures you want and you can come away seeing that our 1st row is just as close. And again, actually being at the games, our 1st row is closer than most and if it's not closer, it's as close, or very minimally farther. This idea that it is not as close is factually incorrect. I'm done debating it until DJ, or whomever, provides facts to show otherwise.
Unrelated. Got nosebleed seats for tonight, and it was louder than I'm used to at that park. Esp for a preseason game. The structure appears to do a great job of retaining the sound. I can imagine when the games actually matter.
Stadium looked so good last night. Im scouring the schedule and online for tickets, and a potential long weekend down to Florida. I've got to get there to see that place in person now. Also, so glad Hard Rock ended up with the naming rights.
I was impressed by the stadium on TV last night. I hadn't been impressed by the original plans that were released. I still don't think it's better than the new designs. (I think the upcoming Atlanta stadium is beautiful and I like Minnesota's clear roof.) The Dolphins were limited since it was a remodel rather than new construction, but it does look like a world class stadium now and probably top 10 in the league.
Angle is not the same. Centerylink pic is shot from higher. You cannot really judge without more similar perspectives. Sent from my SM-N930T using Tapatalk
It's possible to visually approximate given the constant width of the field as reference in both. Proportionally speaking.
The HD lighting really made a dramatic effect when watching it on a HD TV.. Really almost looked like a day game... As well.. Hearing the echos sounded cool.. Sounded like it was a dome game
Really? Check the difference in size of the far endzones. The perspectives are way off, and as you point out c-link has the curved lines. I'd not trust anyone eyeballing it. One could bust out a piece o paper and measure proportions. I haven't done so. They're both setup for soccer too, so it makes sense that they'd be close. I have no idea what the new pitch size is at the Hard Rock though. Flounders play on 116x75. Sent from my SM-N930T using Tapatalk
Do the far endzones appear to be close to the same size? Rhetorical question, they don't. In reality, they are exactly the same. If the perspectives are close, what accounts for the difference in appearance? Also, I'm not sure if you understand what most people think being "dramatic" is. And since this discussion now includes what I'm "being" by posting my opinion on a massage board, should we also discuss what you are "being"? Sent from my SM-N930T using Tapatalk
The Seattle far end zone appears about 50% larger than Miami's. You can check this by holding a peice of paper up to your screen to make measurements on the post with both photos. That to you is "close" to the same size? Sent from my SM-N930T using Tapatalk
I sincerely hope someone is actually holding up paper to their screen right now. And if you are...please turn your web cam on so I can laugh forever.
I read where several people said it felt hot and stuffy in the lower bowl during the game. Hopefully that isn't the case.
I had a few friends at the UM game that stated the place was LOUD. Very, very loud!! They *almost* compared the acoustics to the old OB Supposedly, there is a lot less ventilation with the roof addition and people were sweating and trying to keep cool by fanning themselves.
Hopefully that is this case.. They can hand out paper fans to fans complaining.. I'm more interested to see how road teams feel getting roasted by the sun then having to play on the field.
https://www.canesinsight.com/thread/stadium-effects/101432 Not too many people complaining about heat. But everyone loving how much the place rocks!! I'm jacked up for the season to start!
Yeh.. Was paying close attention last night on Social Media to how fans liked the stadium. Even signed up for watch ESPN just to see some of the Canes game... And to a T... The place is LOUD. Awsi Dooger over at FH said his barometer for loudness was the Orange Bowl.. And could you carry on a conversation with someone next to you. At OB was impossible... He said it was very hard at The Rock last night...and it was far from a sell out. DJ.. I can tell you this. You wanted a rocking football environment.. You got it.
Took this from the link Bum posted... Bill Poilan, NFL Facilities Committee member and GM diety...talking on NFL channel other day...said S Ross basically created a $1.2B stadium for $500M...NFL and owners taking very hard look at what went right..what to.improve...might be new facilities upgrade model for other teams...all.NFL executives very..very impressed I know.. Wins are what matters. But as a Phins fan.. That makes me kinda proud. Also because I've been pro Ross.. So I'm happy to see this kind of commentary. That place is gonna be an amazing place to see a concert
More feedback... I can't believe how much louder the stadium is. In the first quarter when everyone was into the game that place was rocking. HardRock stadium can definitely become a homefield advantage for us. No doubt in my mind. Had a great time at the stadium crowd was loud the TV's are huge the music was much better just an all around better atmosphere from when it was sun life. The seats being closer to the field helps as well. Sound system is almost overwhelmingly loud. Crowd was loud and really into it, particularly in the 1st half. I was in the upper deck (opponent sideline) and the stadium captures sound so well that in the 4th quarter there was a pretty loud chant coming from under us in the lower deck (I believe coming from the FAMU band) and I initially looked behind me because I was sure that the chant was coming from there. canefanforlife1's Avatar Join Date Jan 2014 Posts 458 Ignore User 0 I was down in the field box. It was loud as ****, could feel the seats and floor moving on opening kickoff, gave me chills. The stadium is an asset. Anyone who says otherwise is a hater. Whatever we lose in location is gained in overall quality. The thing isn't done yet and it's already top notch. The video screens are underrated. The acoustics aren't comparable to before. There's a different atmosphere by just being in the building. It's a place we can be proud of.
Brad Kaya UM players thought the renovated stadium, plus the big crowd, delivered more of a homefield advantage than in the past. "It makes a difference in college football; it gives you energy," Kaaya said..... Kaaya said "we have a lot bigger fish to fry" than this game. "We have to win the big games."
