Ok Miami fans, we deserve some good news on the Oline. He took every snap, and had some good battles vs Suh and Jones.
will be interesting to see where in the game against Dallas is Dallas Thomas. this was quick, despite us all knowing the truth. I think the cut will be soon
Me too! Last time I checked, they weren't making any, which is odd, cause always our first round picks get jerseys for sale.
Practicing against our first team DL has to be the best way to get him ready for live action. Great news that he's out there with the starters.
That's what is supposed to happen. We've been so bereft of consistent of consistent talent in the first round we don't know what it looks like anymore.
This dude is such a difference maker it's unreal. The line is night and day with him in as a starter. Looked so weird tonight seeing Tanny having time to throw, so not used to that. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
It will be good to great. We should be thanking whoever hacked his twitter and uploaded that video of his bong... that hacker is the real MVP.. got us the best player in the draft..
Totally agree. I know it's just preseason so we don't know for sure if this will translate to the regular season, but it sure looks like at least for pass protection the OL is worlds better. Run offense kinda sucks though, but that's OK. If you had to choose, best to fix pass protection first.
Lol a poster on the other board said this and it was spot on: Hysterically true Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Agreed. Run blocking needs a lot of work but you can get progressively better quicker at that than pass protection. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
I wouldn't go that far. If Bushrod can become a solid to good RG then our line should be solid with the potential to be very good in pass blocking but the run blocking has been very poor so far. Hard to say your line is great or even good if you can't run a lick. It's nice to have good protection for once but we haven't been able to move anybody in the run game. Albert looks pretty slow as well. Hopefully that's just rust. Pouncey has always been extremely overrated imo. He's got elite mobility but as we seen when he moved over to guard he's a *****. He can't move anybody 1 on 1. A colossal waste of salary that should've gone to a defensive player. Pouncey can be replaced with Urbik and lose nothing but 2nd level mobility while likely gaining a stronger point of attack.
Meaning smoking pot? As long as he doesn't get caught, that doesn't matter. Its well known that more than half the league smokes it. Being smart about how and when is whats important. If he gets caught, he has to pay the price.
Lots of assumptions here. Why can't we assume he stopped smoking it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To me, it doesn't matter one way or the other, as long as he's not caught. The only safe assumption is that there are plenty of guys on the team who do smoke it.
And you were the only one who noticed, so it must've been not too bad of a performance. [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
Hopefully we can have a good debate between he and RT for a long time . But yes, those two are the clear contenders right now. Go back more than 20, and you have OJ McDuffie and Troy Vincent as well. Thats the short list since Marino was drafted though. If Tunsil can get into the conversation, he's made it.
Is there a reason you guys aren't including Jake Long in the conversation? Guy made 4 Pro-Bowls as an OT right off the bat for us. Not easy for Tunsil to beat. In fact, in terms of performance relative to competition, Long is probably the best 1st round pick we've made in the last 20 years.
Haven't seen anybody say he sucks. He's definitely nothing special though and anybody who thinks he is worth what he's getting is clueless.
He would have been next up on my list. I felt that he wasn't nearly as effective his final two seasons with the team due to injury though, and didn't really earn all of those Pro Bowls. Only here five years, and wasn't great after he left either. Also, I agree with the other guys that right now, I think Tunsil has a higher upside as a pure LT than Long did. I saw Long as an elite RT who played LT well.
Clueless would be sitting around worrying about a player that is one of the top players at his position and gets paid like it.
I was alittle concerned with his run blocking, there were a few plays where he executed his blocking assignment, maybe a little too well, and you could see him looking around like what next instead of driving thru the second level and finding some more people to run over. As he learns to do that and to finish every block this year our Offense is going to be pretty exciting.
Vontae Davis is turning out to be a pretty elite shutdown corner. Buts it's OK because we converted Vontae Davis into Jamar Taylor and we converted Jamar Taylor (plus Scooby Wright III) into Brandon Doughty. That's the Dolphin way to build a winner.
