Bills lost another linebacker , IK Enemkali, same dude who hit Geno Smith last year. They also lost their first two picks in this year's draft.....Lawson and Ragland. Does Buffalo have depth at Oline? How about a trade for Jordan?
We won't get anything close to value for Jordan. If he is traded, it will be a bad trade, and there is no doubt about it. We may actually get a pick for Matt Moore if we were inclined to go with two QB's and Dysert on the PS. Doughty is looking awfully good for a rookie.
I might ask the Seahawks if they would be willing to part with CB Tharold Simon...might be had for a conditional late round pick. I think he's probably as good as Bobby McCain? I am much more worried about CB than I am oline. I think the OL will work itself out. The coaching staff seems to be using Dallas Thomas to motivate Tunsil. If Tunsil can play LG satisfactorily, then we are really only looking at RG...and we have Turner, Bushrod, Urbil, and Douglas to fight that out.
Jordan has very little value, and we're already short on picks for next year, so I don't see us having much trade bait.
Higher chance of Simon being released than us trading for him. He is a huge corner but extremely raw but, i wouldnt mind taking a flier if he is released.
Which we should get back due to the Vernon and Miller signings. Might get something for the Matthews signing as well based on the fact most of our signings were cut players.
Ya, what other significant signing besides Kudos at FS did we sign that wasn't released?? The trade for Maxwell and Alonso doesn't count in the formula, right? I would still like to get a pick for Moore. This is probably his last year anyway.
Correct, Maxwell and Kiko don't count in the formula. We didn't sign much, if anything else that would actually hit the formula. Sam Young would count. I think the CB we just signed would count. Bushrod may, I forget whether he was cut. That's just off the top of my head.mm
If effing Dallas Thomas gets a legitimate evaluation then Dion sure as **** better... Never trade within the division anyway.
Would be better off trading Wake for more than he's probably worth at this point. Could probably get someone to overpay for him. That said, I'd rather we keep him.
Culliver wont count. There is a time frame for the formula and it's passed. We should get a third and probably a sixth.
Well we don't get them back, those are separate picks, we would have had them in addition, we got those picks for losing talent, so instead of having two extra comp picks at the end of rounds 3 and 4, in addition to the 3rd and 4th round picks, we don't. Also they are bottom of those round picks, so essentially the 3rd we get for OV is really a 4th round pick, because it doesn't take place until all teams have picked in the 3rd, so no matter where we would have been drafting in the 3rd, it would have been higher than the comp pick. So on multiple levels, it's not really getting those picks back at all.
ok, assuming trade. Miami's OL must be able to do just enough to make initial contact and some movement on their Dline, to let our backs get to that second level. Sounds like our defense last year. Then again, we have to fix or OL. ugh
I would never give Rex Ryan a potential (read what I said...potential) piece he could use against us twice a year. No thank you.
If we're trading for anyone, I hope it's a defensive back. But honestly, you have to pray that Jordan can become the player you thought he would be when you drafted him and become the base leo. You aren't going to trade him for an actual player.
I hear ya and i hate trade ups for that reason, even though i do think Carroo will be a good player and was a good value pick. But they probably made the trade up anticipating what they will get. Its not the worst idea ive ever heard especially if Carroo ends up being really good and Parker keeps having nagging injuries. Also a supplemental pick in round 3 is still a 3rd not a 4th. Ive never subscribed to that notion that a late round pick may as well be the next round. At worst its a tweener pick.
I really like the Caroo pick as well, I just wish we had used the Drake pick on Caroo instead, and had been loaded with picks for next year, 6 picks in the first 4 rounds would have been nice.
I can agree with that. Im rooting for Drake though id rather have taken Paul Perkins or Prosise instead. There are few more complete backs to learn from then Foster; a guy who literally does everything well except stay healthy, despite not being as physically gifted as some other backs.
I thought DB's played well, I know it's early. I mean the quality at starting OL has to be finally addressed
