I don't have a video but I just had on ESPN2's NFL Live. Some cerebral tidily-wink reporter was reporting from Colts camp. He actually said on television "The secret treasure pickup for the Colts and specifically their offensive Line is that the Colts picked up Joe Philbin the former Dolphins Head Coach. He has been a master of fixing Offensive Lines wherever he has been much to his Quaterback's relief".

Yeah, I almost fell over. Sure, did he make the OL better, uh yeah after he broke it further. I was astounded that he said this.

Has anyone noticed that Andrew Luck sounds like he is as ugly as he is? I mean I think his QB skills were kind of an apology for his face and voice. He sounds like he has a mouth full of marbles. Geico has to do an ad with this guy and the caveman. I smell a Cleo!

Yeah that was the point. It's a ludicrous uninformed statement that goes to show the capability of the noseeums with legs that ESPN hires.

Always liked Andrew Luck coming out of Stanford and I like Ryan Kelly (Cincinnati native)...but I feel bad for Andrew Luck. I wonder how many times Philbin adjusts their lineup based on how good someone looks in their stance.

so humor me, what did the Colts do, personnel wise, to upgrade their line? because if they have the same linemen, Philbin won't fix it

He still might be good at individual coaching. Just because he was a terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible head coach, does not mean is bad at being an offensive line coach.

Being well liked doesnt make you a good coach. Players liked Sporano in Dallas too

And Sparano is a good coordinator.

Being a bad head coach does not make a person bad at all other coaching.

When you have a reputation of an offensive line coach you would think he would devot his energy to making it good. He never did that here wasn't even close to having a decent offensive line and might have made them worse actually. Even in GB Rodgers was sacked ALOT! when he was the "Coordinator" in which he didn't even call the plays, so in theory he is no better than the waterboy.

He was great at making power point presentations, but that offense was all Mike McCarthy.

Yeah we'll see how this works out. We brought in the Colts former Oline guru ( Christiansen ) to fill a similar role for us that Philbin took with them. This is an Interesting swap here of heralded coaches assuming each other's crooked positions.

Luckily for us, Gase is the best offensive mind we've had here since Turner,Linehan......... Yet Joe Philbin is the brain trust of the Colts offense now?....

    Treasure? Not quite...
secret? Better keep it that way !

I just do not understand the need to tear down people after they leave. Philbin is a terrible head coach. I hated him as a head coach of Miami. I am so happy he fired. It was not like he wasn't good at his job before he got to head coach.

He didnt do anything that was the point. More of a figurehead which is what got him in trouble. The lack of leadership always shows when it was never there in the first place. I assume that if he were to try and go back to GB they wouldnt take him.

I am most def. not "tearing" him down. I just don't agree that he's any kind of "treasure" as a coordinator. If he was, he would've been the hottest OC commodity the second he was fired. Instead....? Oline coach.

Maybe they badly need someone to pick up gum wrappers off the field and that's what ESPN2 is referring too?

    Here and there
The problem I have seen with a lot of the so called position guru's is that they tend to have inflated ego's thinking that they can coach up bad players. We have seen it in Miami several times over the decades. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken **** is (most of the time) true. The team avoids spending money and picks on that area of the team because of the over confidence in the HC, coordinator or position coach that is the "expert".
