Due to Cardiac arrest. His most successful season he's coached were the 98 Vikings, going 15-1 and having held the record for highest points scored that season. An all around very successful coach, one of most successful black coaches in the NFL. Rest in peace Dennis.
Sad for his family, and the older that I get, the younger that age seems to pass away. My own parents are only a few years younger. On a football note, I think that Green was part of one of the greatest ever batches of new head coaches in NFL history in 1992. He, Bill Cowher and Mike Holmgren were all first year HC that season, and they averaged 15 years in the league and all had over 200 wins. Bobby Ross was the 4th best HC hire that season, and he lasted nine years in the league.
That 15-1 team would've beaten the Broncos in the SB that year. The Vikings and kickers blowing playoff games seem to go hand and hand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
