Williams said he saw how players improve under Spoelstra as so does their value so thats why he chose to sign with us to cash in on 2017.
I don't sugarcoat. I give you my honest assessment. I like this signing a lot. Good in transition. Willing defender. Will be on the Spo gets you paid program. Will be a good running mate for Dragic.
If the Heat match on Tyler Johnson and then re-sign Gerald Green in addition to signing Derrick Williams, and with guys like Hassan Whiteside and Josh Richardson already here, the Heat may lead the league in alley oops. Hell Justise Winslow keeps running alley oops to Briante Weber of all people in SL.
If Bosh does come back and they match on Tyler Johnson it will be interesting to see how much the character of the team could change on the court from the standpoint of shooting threes. Obviously Wade was never going to do that. Wade being gone could mean more playing time in that shooting guard role for Tyler Johnson and Josh Richardson, both of whom can shoot from behind the arc. They signed Rodney McGruder too, who can also shoot. Bosh can shoot. We will have to see who else they pull in.
Comments like this are why I shake my head when people suggest the Heat won't be a draw with Wade gone. Players understand who the Heat are:
I f'n knew it....Kyle Wiltjer was going to be a steal. 6'10", shooting threes like Steph Curry. How did this kid go undrafted?? Sam Dekker is not messing around either. Help is on the way, Harden.
Wade looks like a man who realizes he made a huge mistake on Snapchat, and vice versa the organization doesn't come off great either If we hadn't already signed Williams and used up more cap space, I would seriously think Wade would walk away before signing and come back That being said, he has an option next year. I'd put money that he's back
Yep, he looks sickly, definitely looks like he made an influenced (lebron, gabrielle, henry..) decision, not the decision he wanted for himself and is now regretting it. How sad, should have just taken the deal and retire here.
Miami should stage some kind of dramatic thing like with DeAndre Jordan. Give him an excuse to change his mind.
I have a strong feeling Wade is going to be a complete shell of himself. And it will have nothing to do with ability and everything to do with the decision he made and the effect on his motivation after. The guy looks down, like hes carrying this giant weight on his shoulders from all the pressure he received from everyone to leave something he is emotionally invested in and didnt want to let go. It may even lead to his retirement. Should have just signed the deal, seriously.
Based on the final Summer League Orlando game I would be perfectly fine with subbing out Michael Carrera and subbing in Victor Rudd on the Sioux Falls team. And not just because Rudd is from USF. I've come to believe Carrera is completely useless on offense and even though he's great on defense, that's not enough. Rudd looked damn good. He's 6'9" and 246 lbs and moves like Justise Winslow. Really nice crossover and isolation game for his size, his jump shot has been steadily improving since college, and he's a big strong guy that can rebound the ball and body up on people on defense. He was hitting on all cylinders today. You love to see a guy that big and strong that can move like he does and play isolation offense, create. Also a little interested in David Walker now. He's 6'7" and 200 lbs, stereotypical white sharp shooter from behind the arc, but has surprising handle, good vision and passing skills. Also notable, his hands on defense, surprising good stealing the ball. There was a stretch of the game he was hitting on all cylinders, but Rudd sustained for the entire game while Walker did not.
He's obviously worked on his game, his improvement has been obvious. Doesn't mean he didn't miss meetings or blow off the team at times. How much of that is acceptable to you? 5? 15? 39? I don't know but it seems like a stretch to think that someone would totally make this up. Exaggerate it? Sure, maybe it wasn't 40 but it seems like a stretch to say that this is total bull****.
And the summer league has proven this? Weren't you raving about what a steal Nick Johnson was last year at this time?
The only way i seriously regret letting wade go is if bosh plays 60+ games this season. And this coming from a wade stan.
I picked up a Haslem jersey right after the season ended, keeping my fingers crossed that he remains on the team. i'd still rock my Wade stuff though...
I just can't believe Wade agreed to play on a team with Rajon Rondo and Jimmy Butler both of whom were cancers in the locker room last season. Rondo has been a cancer his entire career and Butler went on Rachel Nichols' ESPN show and basically admitted he wanted to run the show himself and he got rid of Rose for that reason. That Bulls team is going to be a ****ing disaster. Here's hoping Wade and the Heat pull a Deandre.
Heat posted a nice tribute to D-Wade on their website: http://www.nba.com/heat/video/teams/heat/2016/07/08/1468003995241-wade-tributemov-640275
Napier never really looked good in summer league. Ennis did his second year but his biggest flaw never improved and besides he's an NBA player who just got another contract I believe.
Point is they are all scrubs who people on here tried to hype up. Ennis only got a second contract because he was the only half decent scrub on the Grizzlies' infirmary unit last year. Why is my scrub from a year ago getting called out? Hmmmm...I wonder.
Wade ripping every Heat fan's heart out through their butt at this moment. I'm serious about the DeAndre Jordan plan. Pull some stunt and get him to not sign.
I hope Chicago didn't really want Wade for both of these years because it's not happening This was so stupid. The 2/40 here was a better deal ultimately than what he got in Chicago But hearing what he said today, it is a 100% certainty he wears this jersey again before he retires
It's the nature of the majority of the posters in this thread. What I do is fine, what you do is not. What I say is true, what you say is trolling. Cavs got lucky because Draymond missed one game, GS just the better team when Cle missing Irving and Love basically the whole series in 2015. Our fans are great (lol) your fans are not. Our middle of the road FA was a great pickup by Riley, your middle of the road FA sucks. Yada Yada Yada Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That kind of furthers my point doesn't it? It's hard to take anything from the summer league. So saying you knew a guy was a steal based off the summer league is a bit premature.
When you guys brought up that he looked like he regretted his decision based off of snapchat I thought maybe he was just tired. Seems pretty clear now that he made an emotional decision and is regretting it.
