The truth of the matter is that Riley made Wade who he is today. Without Riley assembling championship-caliber type basketball playoff teams we would have had difficulty just getting out of the first round of the playoffs. When he didn't have a set around him that could perform at an All-Star level Wade didn't have the ability to carry a team like a LeBron James. This entire loyalty argument is a bunch of bullcrap if you asked me, the heat were loyal to Wade and he was rewarded with endorsements a future spot in the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame and finals glory because Riley made deals happen around him. Everyone keeps saying his contract is movable, but I think with him it's going to be one of two ways. Either he's never going to be a legitimate NBA player and that contract is going to be horrible, or he's going to end up being a solid rotation player and that contract will end up being great in comparison to some of the garbage handed out this summer. Either way, not sure you can trade him, whether it's because no one will take him, or it doesn't make sense for your team.
I think you can flip that around, too. Wade won that 2006 title almost single-handedly. He gave up 2 years of his prime on crap teams to clear space for the Big 3. It was HIS friendship w Bron and Bosh that brought them to Miami, no matter how much we romanticize dropping rings on a table. Wade sacrificed his own numbers, and his own status as "the guy" to make the Big 3 work. He's sacrificed salary ever since. He watched as the Heat prioritized and paid Dragic and Whiteside. They promised to pay him and he knew they just needed to trade McBob to do that and were unwilling. Like - you can point to a lot of things Wade sacrificed to make the Heat work. You can argue he had as much to do with their success as Riley. But it's hard to look at how Wade has been treated the last two offseasons and say they tried to repay him for those sacrifices.

I'm not freaking out at all. I am excited to watch our young guys grow. But I don't believe Bosh plays in a Heat uni ever again. We need out of that contract asap to move forward.....which i already have.
Winslow, Richardson and Whiteside are our present AND our future. It's impossible to have any certainty on Boshs' future health so he is not in the plans IMO. I hope they don't play him even though it sucks. Would I trade any of our 3 key pieces for Westbrooke......yes!

It's up to the coaches whether he touches the floor or not even if the players association gets involved. I would assume played minutes are what constitutes "playing"...wouldnt it? (No sarcasm).
The Heat has no say in whether Bosh returns. You can't force a guy to stay out without a major issue with the Players Association. Even if he comes back and the Heat hypothetically just don't play him (which isn't going to happen), they still have to pay him.
I believe I've seen that, if Bosh can't play by February 2017, the Heat can remove his contract from the books.
There probably would be a dispute with the Players association but there is some opinion in there that I don't agree with. If push comes to shove they wouldn't play him and can't be forced to. As far as the forward position? It doesn't matter. McBob, Haslam, a scrub. The goal is to get Bosh off the books to move forward.
Yes. Can't move forward with a player who can't play eating a max contract. I may be alone in this viewpoint.
If he's cleared by doctors, they would play him and will absolutely fight it. The goal is to do what is right for Bosh, and I would guarantee their preference is to have him back. A healthy Bosh is also a selling point for free agents. Putting a scrub on the floor does not help your young players get better, it makes their lives more difficult.
Hah that's so true though. Feels like we're about to be the Lakers or something but we have a center that keeps putting up Hall of Fame numbers, a really good point guard, CHRIS BOSH (unless they're trying to dump his salary for medical reasons), and then a couple of exciting younguns.
If the Heat's doctors don't clear him, he doesn't play, and they can dump his contract. That's my understanding. And they have a legitimate beef over the drug he took to deal with the last blood clot. Not to mention most doctors I've ever talked to about this saying two clots in successive years means he should be on thinners the rest of his life and shouldn't be playing.
Boshs issue is not curable. He is living with a condition. Even if he is medically cleared there is huge chance a clot happens again. The whole reason the Heat were holding him out was supposedly the Heat looking at his best interest, which was to keep him from playing and possibly dieing. In the grand scheme of things Bosh's best interest is to never play again. Yes a healthy Bosh is ideal but he will never be fully "healthy". Playing is a life risk to him and a HUGE burden on our future plans. If it were in Bosh's best interest to play he would've been playing in the playoffs when we needed him most.
So prepare yourselves for a huge dispute next year. Can't wait for more people mocking the notion that the Heat take care of their own.
