So is it a definite that he is coming back? I havent read anything yet saying that. I guess I can figure he is coming back but he supposedly just had a sit down with Dan Gilbert too though.
Remember when it was 2013-2014? How did the league change this much? The Spurs finally did get old I guess. Lebron bogged off to the Cavs. Was that it?
Its looking like the Cavs fella's. Well, I guess all that talk about money only to be taking another major paycut for LeBron again. (And then he has the cajones to complain to our FO, complain to LeBron because here you go again **** riding.)
This feels like when JT signed with the Jets, except it wasn't his choice. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
He can finish his career elsewhere if he leaves. I wouldnt mind a 1 day contract so he can retire a Heat player but if he leaves now, he can leave for the rest of his playing career (which shouldnt be too long anyways). We need to turn a new leaf over anyways.
This "feels" like a number of people straight up lying on twitter or in whispers to various writers, and then everyone flipping out about it because we're operating a minute-to-minute news cycle where every minute brings a fresh new hot take that somehow carries certainty even though there's no certainty whatsoever.
Wade ain't leaving all that money on the table and burning the MIA bridge just to chase a ring in Cleveland. Pretty insane he'd put the Heat through this, tho.
To me it is very different. JT wasn't really wanted in Miami at that time. Wade is not only wanted, but is being offered a very fair deal. If he goes to Cleveland it will be out of spite. I didn't like seeing JT on the Jets, but I will lose some respect for Wade if he goes to the Cavs.
See the thing for me is.... its being reported that he denied our offer and no new offer has been presented and now we are hearing that he is meeting with the Cavs and now cancelling other meetings. If I had to guess I would say 70% Cavs. 30% Miami.
I still find it hard to believe he'd leave. Especially with the amount of money on the table But if he does, Godspeed. It'll suck, particularly if it's on bad terms, but that doesn't diminish what he accompanied here or what he's meant to the franchise. In two or three years he'll be back and this unpleasantness will be a distant memory If it's Cleveland, so be it. We sold our soul for those 4 years when we let than cancerous tumor into our organization and maybe it's time to cut it out forever.
some cavs fans are saying they rather have JR Smith over Wade.... lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll probably the dumbest thing ive read all week.
Honestly, JR probably "fits" better. He spaces the floor. Wade doesn't. If they sign Wade, Love has to spend even less time around the basket
This whole thing is just really disappointing. I can understand Wade's frustration to some degree, but for his camp to be acting like this is incredibly childish and pretty ridiculous. I say this because it's not like this is having any impact on Pat Riley and the Heat, it's impacting the fans more than anything else. You think Pat Riley is sitting in his office tracking planes leaving Ft. Lauderdale or watching Wade's social media? Hell no. It's the fans who are getting stressed out by all of this. And the fans simply don't deserve it.
Ira saying he expects McBob to be traded for space and the sides to agree on 2/53, with the player option in the second year. Not sure if based on info or just his gut, but it's pretty specific
Wonder what that does to their 2017 flexibility. Wonder if this is why Wade was frustrated - felt like they said they'd pay him this offseason and knew the McBob bullet was there and they just weren't willing to use it till he forced their hand.
Someone has to want McBob. He's virtually useless. Even though he's cheap I understand why there's not a line to get him
Section making some great points on Twitter. Because of this issue, instead of trading McBob for space to improve the team, we now have to trade him to give Wade more money on a team that's already worse than last year. Second, you're in the position of basically hoping he opts out next year, which depending on health he might not do I'm getting to the point of either Wade takes this very fair offer or we move on. Sucks, but the alternative isn't great either
Im with you, im not sure I want our team to be a bad lotto pick every year finishing like 12th worse team but its Dwyane Wade.... talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
And he's still a lifer and all that. In fact, I'd still bet he finishes his career in a Heat uni even if he leaves now
I really don't want us being Lakers 2.0 with a Kobe-like contract that's going to hurt future growth on this team. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
After that deal expires i dont want a single heat fan to say we owe him more and that we should give him another 20m+ deal. Nothing is owed after that deal. As a matter of fact we are outbidding ourselves, hes not going to live in some treehouse in milwaukee or some cabin in colorado.
Brian Windhorst says Wade is not going to Cleveland. Nuggets, Bulls and Heat negotiating with Wade who wants 2 years and $50m. The Heat do not have the cap room to sign him right now.
The only way to give him 2/50 is to trade McBob for nothing and give him essentially all that money. That would leave us with just the room exception and minimums
I don't see a problem with paying Wade what he's worth. Harrison Barnes got a friggin max contract. In the playoffs, Wade basically willed the team forward when they were stuck in the mud because of injuries.
Hes turning 35, likely isnt going to repeat last years performance, missed 50 games total the two seasons prior to last. This is a Kobe like contract that will set back our development and could set us back like it did the Lakers. That is the issue here. If wade was 30, fine. Hes turning 35, his motivation to win clearly isnt the same, its about being paid.
I think a 2 year $50m deal is fair. Wade smokes most of the clowns that signed this weekend and McRoberts sucks anyway.
21 pts on 47% shooting, 5.6 REBs, 4.3 ASTs per game. This whole process seems to show why players should never ever take less with the idea it'll be repaid later.
Woj confirms Nuggets, Bulls and Heat are after Wade. He's looking for a third year according to Woj so the 2 year $50m deal could be a compromise from both sides.
Cavs official twitter and ig just followed gabrielle and wade, theyre participating in the mind games with wade i suppose.
