Really lost respect for Durant here. Going to a team that already was elite and won 73 games does nothing for your legacy

This would probably be a good time to play the draft lottery again lol, for the next couple of years its going to be Cleveland/GS in the Finals more than likely.

Yeah I know, joining up with a couple of other Superstars to try and win a Championship with a stacked lineup, what a d bag.

While I obviously wanted KD to go to Miami (recognizing it was a longshot), him ending up in GSW was my next preferred option. The NBA is always better when there's an elite team. Everybody always talks about parity, but what we remember is the times when there were dominant teams. We mark time by the dynasties. We look back fondly upon greatness. For all the consternation when the Big 3 were here, reality is that the NBA popularity soared. These big contracts since the salary cap exploded came from that huge TV contract that resulted in no small part from the media attention the big 3 era brought. While I always root for my team, I'll be excited to see watch GSW next season.

Wow, that sucks, didn't he tweet something a few years ago about "everyone wanting to play for the heat or Lakers and how that was against the competitive balance"? What a joker......**** now i have to deal with more warrior fan bull****.

Its the fact we had leaks all over the place from Boston and the "over the top" things like Edelman getting a Celtic KD Jersey, Ortiz acting like he was supposed to be at the meeting. And what does Tom Brady know about leaving an organization for another oranization? What does Tom Brady know about basketball in general? That meeting was so silly, imo. If i'm KD, why the **** do I care if Schilling, Brady, Edelman, or Ortiz are trying to recruit me? They dont play in the same sport. Where is Isiah? Horford? Crowder? They come off as a joke of an organization.

Yea, he comes off as a major hypocrite for signing there after these comments in 2010 but he has to do what he has to do to catch some titles.

Durant is quite possibly the most fake person in the entire NBA. I saw through it years ago with that fake act of the "simple" and "down to earth" guy with the simple clothing, and the backpack press conferences. The years have exposed him and this is yet another proof.

Don't know how he'll deal with all the hate coming his way. He's going to become a truly hated person and I doubt he'll deal with it well.

Btw, don't care that he joined GS. If he thinks that's what's best for him, who am I to judge. I do point out how much of a fake and hypocrite he is.

All those leaks? Some of those had to be Boston. Everytime we heard it was down to GSW and OKC, here comes CSNNE or some other B.S. Boston news outlet to say "We are still in it toooo...." like a bunch of little kids. I bet the Celtics are the most butthurt team out of all 6 that had an initial chance that didnt get KD. All that extra effort to be left looking like fools. Lmao, personally I love it, Boston thought they had such a great chance and they gotta be left hurting right now. They just took a major pride hit as a city.

I always thought KD was a giant poser. Ever since the "fake tough guys" stuff with Bosh. Don't get me wrong, I wanted the Heat to get him badly. But I still think he's a poser. I just hope he gets the criticism LeBron got.

I don't agree with all the complaining about Durant joining other stars. In fact, I would argue it is the smart thing to do. I would lose respect for him if he didn't join a team he felt gave him the best chance to win. If any of us had the opportunity to to work someplace that gave us the best chance to have the greatest career success then we'd be idiots not to do it. Obviously there are more factors like fit and salary and where you want to live, etc., that we'd all weigh according to our individual preferences, but I wouldn't give two sh*ts about other people's perceptions of loyalty or about how teams should be built. Reality is that the great teams where always made up of several stars. Back when there was no FA it only happened based on the luck of the draft. If you were a great player drafted into a poor situation then you would never achieve your potential success. That was the whole point of FA. Players just wanted the ability to work where they wanted just like all of us non-pro athletes have the ability to choose where we want to work. On Independence day, of all days, I celebrate a player exercising one of those freedoms we all seem to take for granted.

Hes not Robert Horry, hes a top 3 player joining an already elite team. His team btw was already elite in OKC.

Lebron left Mo Williams to join Wade Bosh Mike Miller and 11 other scrubs. Was not even favored to beat chicago in the ECF.

    Huge difference

They improved this offseason and no one outside of this board has any issue with them using famous local athletes to try and recruit. It wasn't anything close to negative or embarrassing. I mean the Heat swung and missed, so did Boston, who can blame anyone for going after Durant with anything at their disposal?

I am intrigued to see how he handles carrying Steph's jockstrap and sharing shots with klay. This could be the greatest show on earth or the biggest egotistical disaster on the planet.

Far more intriguing is watching how he handles being hated and massively scrutinized. He made huge stinks those rare times someone in Oklahoma dared to question him these past years. Watch him blow his nice guy cover now when he gets lambasted on a daily basis.

You're going to see Durant become truly dis-likable now, remember this. He had been showing his true colors more lately, now they'll be exposed with ease.

    Dragic and Winslow for Russ?

This should be a very interesting development. Russ isn't signing there and Presti has shown he tries to get ahead of these things by moving guys he doesn't think will be there long term. But the only teams that would give up real value are those who actually have a shot to sign him. This could be a situation where again the "haves" might be the only options in a trade pushing the return to lower than it should be.

I agree that seeing him deal with the vitriol will be interesting. What Lebron faced was ridiculous. People are often just too wrapped up in their fandom to show any class. I don't see KD having any ego issues playing with Curry and Thompson though.

Are you kidding me??? You must have missed the last 10 hours when Boston literally and desperately tried EVERYTHING to get KD to sign while every other team in the process just let everything unfold. You didnt see Miami have Dan Marino, Don Shula, et., you didnt see GSW have famous bay area athletes or any city. Only desperate Boston because they cant sell basketball itself anymore and need Tom Brady and Big Poppi to se KD.

Nah, I never got my hopes up. Sure I'd love to have him, there are a dozen players I'd love to have but the team didn't make the playoffs last year and we didn't have the ammo to get Durant, it was never something I gave too much thought. I'm a Wizards fan, the expectations are much different for me lol.

GSW has been recruiting him for awhile.. The Clippers put out all the stops.... We heard on this very forum that Riley would work his magic.

The Celtics have been down for awhile what is wrong with people recruiting him? Just admit you just want to rant about the Celtics because you thought he would have some how landed in Miami and you just cant handle it.

Trust me i never got over Len Bias this is nothing compared to that shock.

Yall brought Tom ****** Brady, that would of been smart if KD was thinkong about playing wide receiver, I understand the Celtics dont have a true superstar on the team they can sell but c'mon.

Boston has won a few championships recently which is what they were selling to him... You are overblowing this to rant... Do you always do this so i can save time and throw you on ignore?

Wade with more cryptic messages towards Riley/Heat. Riley, offer him a one year deal, he can sign it or leave. I'm so done with this guy.

Riley is trying to be a GM, trying to bring wins. He did his job by trying to get Durant here. His job isn't to massage Wade, give anything his "highness" wants. As a matter of fact, Riley is the highness.

So Wade, I love you, you're my favorite NBA player, but shut the **** up. I'm so ready to move on to the next era. Go sign with the Nuggets, I'll still root for you there, whenever they show the Nuggets on national tv.

Lmao @ another desperate delusional Boston fan such as yourself. I would laugh at the Heat too if we brought Tannehill or Marino or some B.S. like that, but we didnt, Boston did and they did it at an unreal rate only to be left reeling and hurt because of all that effort.

P.S. what does Edelman do with his make believe KD jersey? Idiot celtic fans already believe this.1 and 1 is a ploy for Boston to sign him next year!! Lmao gotta love twitter.

likewise, and the wizards are terrible and will continue to be terrible. Doing some internet message board psycho-analysis, I think the reason your anger towards the Heat has a lot to do with making your team look like a JV high school team in 2005 in the second round.

During FA people have to understand that you have competing interests at play. GMs will try to get players for as little as possible while agents will try to get as much as possible for their players. And you usually have no idea what is coming from the players, what is coming from their agents and what is coming from friends, acquaintances or even posers pretending to have inside knowledge. So I don't waste my time believing every rumor or tweet and blaming/vilifying ever alleged comment I hear.
