The Cavs were the underdogs going into the series and most every analyst had GSW winning. That alone shows that it was not an unreasonable opinion and certainly doesn't show any "agenda". That's what you claimed in your post and what I countered.
There are tons of posts dissing Lebron, seriously, this is ridiculous. If you actually looked for them you'd find them. I mean, just admit you were both attacking me and were proven wrong after Lebron won. I mean show some class and just admit that you were wrong.
Heat have extended a qualifying offer for Tyler Johnson. So they can now match any offer. I think this one will be tricky. Does somebody go forward thinking and offer the $5.8 per max for him?
The Cavs won the title. AND EVERYBODY that thought they were gonna win the series before the series started was engaging in wishful thinking. Not analysis. So yeah, their opinion sucked. Otherwise..SHOW ME A TICKET or move the **** on. They were the 2nd largest underdog in 16 years for a reason.
You know, if you don't provide any evidence to your claim then nobody will take it seriously. If they are so easy to find, quote them and post some here. Otherwise, stop exaggerating. You seem convinced there are a ton of posts on here dissing LeBron. Show us some.
Players today aren't necessarily bigger. They are bigger maybe in the back court. I would not say they are bigger in the front court. Today the traditional Cs and PGs barely exist and the court is made up of entirely 2-4s in the traditional sense. There's no way Wade is 10 pounds lighter than Ewing unless you are comparing him now to Ewing in high school or something.
No. he is. Wade played most of his career at 230 pounds. Ewing played at 240, and Robinson played at 235. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/e/ewingpa01.html http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/robinda01.html
Teams still used zone concepts back then even if it was not legal. The trick then was to not get caught. That screen shot was a defence they also used where the center was "double teaming" the ball. That was "allowed". It was considered still man to man but it was really a pseudo-zone. There was always a rim protector who was a lane enforcer which not only meant you would get killed driving to the basket but you would also be killed if a cutter attempted cross the lane. They probably used "zone" in the 90s as much as they do now. Having said this, it is hard to compare players today to back then...there's no time machine but saying the game wasn't more difficult then would be inaccurate.
If I understand Albert Random, it's basically impossible for us to lose TJ unless we decide to let him leave. Due to the Gilbert Arenas rule we can match his salary up to $5.8 million and it only counts $1.2 against the cap. His cap charge is basically free. Now if someone wants to offer him $10 million per, I guess that's a different story but very unlikely
You are letting the point fly over your angry head... People were speaking MATTER OF FACTLY that the Cavs would never do this never do that etc. then a week later they were wrong. They lose. It is one thing to speak in an opinionated fashion, it is another to spout of stuff in that manner, then somehow in some fked up world it was a reasonable comment. Some of you were piling on, and some of you now are looking worse than before trying to save face...a face that has Cleveland egg yolk all over it. You are trying to spin it as if I'm saying anyone who picked against Cle was an idiot. I picked GS in 6...there is a difference Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
No there weren't a ton of posts attacking Lebron's game. Obviously, the Cavs won and I was wrong about them not winning and I gave them credit for playing well in game 7. I did that immediately. But your claims of me attacking you or criticizing Lebron's game are imagined.
First of all, I'm not "angry" and I would appreciate it if you took that trolling **** elsewhere. it continues to go over your head. As simple as I can make it so you can understand: The people that said the Cavs had no shot, had a good point. They were just surprised and got unlucky. They were down 3-1 after losing the first two games by a HISTORIC margin. The people that said the Cavs would win before the finals started, were not basing it on anything concrete. It was gut feeling, or whatever, but not a real analysis. MOST of the things people said about the Cavs before the series, continues to be true AFTER they won it all. The ONE guy ALL OF US AGREED was a beast, beasted at the right time and he got timely help from Kyrie.
Let's recap the "attacks" people in here inflicted on the poor and persecuted Cavs: A) Kyrie is a ball hog, that can't defend a bus stop. TRUE B) Kevin Love is bad defensively, and doesn't really fit with them. TRUE C) LeBron James' shot is broken. Partially true, proved FALSE (he shot extremely well in games 5 and 6, and that proved to be the series) D) JR Smith is a bum. Partially True, Proved FALSE. He can flat out shoot, period. His two threes in game 7 to keep the game from getting out of hand when GS was up 8 in the 3rd, probably saved the game for them. E) Tristan Thompson is overpaid. TRUE. (He is a very good one dimensional player. a GREAT dimension, but not worth $85 million) F) Dan Gilbert is an *******. TRUE. (this one is not up for debate) If anybody has anymore, let me know.
One of my complaints about LeBron James has been his overall Transparent phoniness. The problem is that he perpetuates it by planting blatant lies about his life growing up to enhance his narrative. I recommend the Lee Jenkins piece on the Cavs championship if you want some great insight into this team. Some interesting tidbits in the piece, But LeBron volunteered to Jenkins that he was never a Indians or Browns fan because he never had money to buy a ticket. This is LeBron's Life chronology: - Born in 1984 - Is dirt poor moving from apartment to apartment with his mother who birthed him at 16 years old. - At the age of 9, he was sent to live with Bruce Kelker, who saw him play football in the street and then promised to take him in, and feed him after he saw him run a 100 yard dash. He recruited him to his under 10 football team, where LeBron stars. Being poor she relented to give her son a better life. it works out. She basically abandons him, save for the occasional visit. - Later that year at the age of 9, LeBron moved in with Frank and Pam Walker and their family who had a single family home in suburban Akron. Walker enrolled him in school and had AAU ties (see where this is going?) - he was encouraged to play basketball, and the rest is history. he is part of the best AAU under 12 team in the nation, and travels the country. - He spends the next 3 years playing AAU basketball and is then enrolled at At St. Vincent. St. Mary, where he is showered with "gifts". - Gloria James rejoins his life fulltime, and takes out loans against his future earnings. - In his senior year, he begins to negotiate a shoe deal. - Upon his graduation, he signs a $90 Million 7 year deal with Nike. - he is drafted #1 by the Cavs later that year. This is a life of privilege. enough with the phony narrative building LeBron. You don't need it.
The evidence is the posting after the Cavs won lol. #teampetty. I mean seriously this is laughable at this point.
Not going to argue with him being privileged or phony on a lot of levels, he's always been those things. I do give him credit for coming into the league with the highest expectations of any professional athlete that I can ever remember and for the most part living up to the billing. He was anointed next king of the league before he graduated high school and he's gone on to have a historic run of Finals appearances and titles with two different teams. I'm not a Cavs or Heat fan but I've always enjoyed watching Lebron play, I think some of the criticism of him is well deserved but a lot of it is nonsense from haters and trolls.
Chandler Parsons opted out Suffered a lot of injuries while in Dallas but still a real intriguing guy to me, especially since his market may be a little more reasonable
His talent was transcending...think about it. Had he been a complete disaster, and bust...He would have still had the $90 Million from Nike and the $24 Million from his rookie contract. Most people let down, but not him, he improved gradually, till where he is now.
This is getting really comical. I've continued to use proof to prove your comments ridiculous and incorrect multiple times while you have yet to provide even a shred of evidence. I see your fantasy world continues. I wonder if you wake up every morning wishing the Wizards were a class organization like the Heat. The Heat hate and jealousy burns deep in you, huh?
Those are the type of comments I'm referring to and you know that. And how convenient of you to base their championship off of luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Show it to me. I've consistently called him one of the best ever. I've said he was arguably the GOAT and listed him in my top 3. The worst I've said is that I believed he made a poor basketball decision by moving to Cleveland. I still believe that b/c I doubt Cleveland's ability to attract FAs. That's an opinion and hardly a diss. If that is what you take as some great insult then I would say you're being ridiculous.
well, I recapped them for you, nice and tidy in one post. as for their championship being luck... well, they were down 3-1. Draymond gets suspended for game 5, nullifying one home game for Golden State as it turned out, then Bogut gets hurt for the series, and then Igoudala is crippled. All the while the League MVP was probably hurt. If you don't think ALL championships carry with them a certain amount of luck, then you must not have seen many championships. and yes, all three Heat titles, had some luck to do with it.
LOL! I don't have him above MJ b/c MJ even when his team was failing Jordan was always clearly the best player on the court. Lebron didn't look like that in those finals that first year of the big three (Miami would have won if Lebron had been his average self and Wade would have deserved the MVP) and he's had a few other disappearing acts in big moments. I was never one of those that claimed Lebron wasn't clutch (I found that ridiculous), but he hasn't always looked like the best player on the court. When comparing players from different eras I believe that you have to consider how they looked versus their peers. To be the GOAT you have to look like the best player against your peers. Lebron usually looks like the best player on the court (and he certainly did in this most recent series), but MJ always did. I do have Lebron slightly above Magic Johnson though b/c Magic had a similar disappearing act in the finals (recall "tragic magic"). But frankly it's close between those two b/c my memory of Magic disappointing is vague while Lebron's is fresher. And speaking of comparing different eras, there are three other names that usually mentioned as GOATs, Oscar Robertson, Bill Russell and Kareem. I just don't have enough info to know where to place them on the list.
No you recap the ones you wanted to, then you keep making these open-ended statements about the luck involved. It burns that LeBron got the title they said he would never get in Cleveland, I understand...but it's also OK to admit you may have been wrong about a few things along the way. You've literally never proved anything, talk about fantasy world, its embarrassing, I mean please just stop. I am a certified Heat Hater, as a Wizards fan for sure. See, you just admit that you are a hater of something, its not that hard, just admit it.
He already proved you wrong and you are still dissing him, I mean you literally proved exactly what I'm talking about. Praising someone with a but.....at the end of every post isn't praise. You play both sides of it when its obvious you just root against him, which as a Heat fan is totally understandable but when someone calls you a hater just admit it. Its not a big deal.
I recapped the ones I saw. Burn? It makes it more fun to slay a dragon than to see him flounder. I showed you what I was wrong about in that list I gave you. Not much.
Nobody is perfect including Lebron. Marino is my favorite Dolphin but I've always admitted that he had a weakness in his post snap reads. That doesn't mean I don't believe he's a great player or that I have not praised him or that I root against him. As a matter of fact I don't root against Lebron. I even said I was happy for him when he won. I do root against Cleveland as I see the organization as classless. If you can't understand that distinction, that's on you.
He's actually posted examples. You've haven't provided one. All you keep saying "it's been proven" without ever having provided any proof. If you've actually proven something then it should be easy to show. If you can't then it is a fantasy to claim you have proven something.
I strongly disagree. Can't just casually wave away spending your childhood (from birth to age 9 years old) in poverty with a single mom. I know there are things I will never forget and that will always affect me about my own childhood (things turned up for me about the same age as they did LeBron). Nor can we casually wave away the fact that, the way you've described it, he basically grew up as child labor. He's been having to work for his own upbringing since he was 9 years old. What would have happened at any point being raised by those people if he decided he didn't want to play sports anymore? He had no choice. He was basically an indentured servant from the time he was 9 years old on. That leaves a mark on you that will never go away.
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...says-no-plans-leave-cleveland-cavaliers-point Lebron says he's staying. Well, that has me 75% convinced lol.
This entire thread is filled with comments blasting Lebron, his character, his team, his city. Honestly this is just making me laugh at this point, its embarrassing.
I think LeBron is under lots of pressure from his shoe deal to leave Cleveland and it would make a lot of sense if the compromise he struck with them is that he'll stay until he stops winning championships. In other words, they don't win next year, he's off to Los Angeles.
Chalk it up to "a guy on twitter" but he hears the Heat keep getting a lot of calls about Goran Dragic.
