    Redskins released CB Chris Culliver.

Culliver signed a "four-year, $32 million contract" last March, but tore his ACL and MCL in November. The remaining guarantees in his contract were voided by a Week 2 suspension for violating the league's personal-conduct policy. Culliver was excellent in 2014, and is still only 27. He'll get a second chance, but will have to be healthy first. The Redskins used a third-round pick on Virginia Tech CB Kendall Fuller.

Very interesting. He certainly fits the Joseph mold, and with Miami's sport science swagger, Mike T. doesn't shy away from players on the mend. Perhaps a 1 year, 3.5-5 million "prove it" contract?

This is the guy who hit a bicyclist, then fled the scene, was chased down and boxed in by an eyewitness, and then Culliver threatened that guy with brass knuckles.

    Peachy.

I'm thinking Alpha in this case means confident in their abilities.

The incident involved trauma. Fear and panic at it's worst. Some people will when hit in the face with a cataclysmic experience will freak out.

A few years ago here in Phoenix the Arch Bishop ran over a homeless dude and fled the scene. It happens. I don't see why anyone would see this kind of thing as career ending.

His knee is healing nicely. He IS..... one of the better CB's in the league and is a perfect fit for us. Actually there are some, based on the years before last year's injury, that would call Culliver elite talent.

He isn't old, more middle aged for NFL CB.

I would sign him to a five year deal for 25 mil, 15 guaranteed.

IMO, acquiring Culliver at a huge discount because of his negative circumstances would be tantamount to what happened in the draft with Tunsil.

I wouldn't wait either. Get him signed now and have oversight over his rehab.

Dolphins could still come through this off season smelling like a rose.

The problem with Culliver is that he's as dumb as a box of axe handles, not only did he flee the scene, but he was driving while suspended, and hit with a felony weapons charge, also made those anti gay statements that were widely publicized, and at another time, then made anti women statements, just doesn't learn.

He also has a bad injury history, blowing out his knee twice in the NFL, and having a couple surgeries in college.

He had a good 2014 campaign, the only season he was a starting CB, and does/did have elite potential, but he's never been an elite NFL CB.

I would sign him, but no way would I guarantee 15 mil, or anything close to that, and I wouldn't pay him 5 mil per either, I'd sign him to an incentive laced contract.

I really, really HATE!!! the speech police. Someday you Nazi Fascist Bastards are going to get what is coming to you.

What ever happened to free speech? I hate what you wimpering simps have done to this culture.

I don't give a Rats *** what Culliver talks about in his spare time. The durability issue is troubling though.

Another thing....you might not like the guy, but calling him dumb, is itself ignorant. He won multiple academic awards while in college. He wouldn't have any problem learning our system.

Free speech is a one way street to you? That's a bit pollyanna isn't it? You say something offensive, and the offended just have to take it with a smile?

Perhaps you don't actually know what free speech is, but free speech actually allows the offended to speak, they can voice their opinion that they are offended, and challenge the words of the offender.

It is DUMB to speak out against a culture of people or a gender on PUBLIC media, and he did it not once, but twice, which brings bad publicity to himself, and his team, you may hate gays and women, and you have that right, but if you say it in public, people under the same free speech rights, can SAY something about it.

It is also DUMB to drive a car with a suspended license while carrying illegal weapons.

All I did is point out the PAINFULLY obvious, this dude is NOT to be trusted to make smart decisions.

    Lol free speech for everyone!

Free speech is great. But it doesn't make it smart free speech.

Being a public figure in a gigantically magnified profession sets a sort of standard that you need to follow period. If you waiver from that standard you get criticized. Your team gets questioned. Your teammates get questioned. It causes distractions and meaningless gossip and bull****. Having someone like that on your team is poison.

Ask Tim Hardaway if he's real excited about free speech and if he has any regrets.
