I've been looking everywhere and haven't found the actual dates the draft will fall on. Can someone please help a brother out?
Saturday, April 26th and Sunday, April 27th, 2008. http://www.collegefootballfanatics.com/2008-mock-nfl-draft.php
If they did, it's news to me and I go every year the first day. If they moved it to Friday night, I'm not going into the city.
If it's in NYC, may have to think about going to it. It's not everyday your team get's the number 1 pick. And for the fins, lets hope it's the last one for a good longtime.
Nope. First round starts at 3:00 pm on Saturday and they will only hold the first two rounds on the first day. The rest on Sunday. That is the latest I have heard anyway.
That is exactly when it takes place. These were the changes: - 1st Day = Saturday April 26, 2007 - 2nd Day = Sunday April 27, 2007 - 1st Day consists of rounds 1 through 2 - 2nd Day consists of rounds 3 through 7 - 1st Day begins at 3:00 PM - 2nd Day begins at 10:00 AM - Round 1 time has been reduced from 15 minutes to 10 minutes - Round 2 time has been reduced from 10 minutes to 7 minutes. - Round 3-7 will remain at 5 minutes.
and we time being reduce is gonna be harder to make trades...if you make a trade you have to do it fast and some mistakes could happen...also, keep om mind when the vikings got pass over for not getting their pick out on time, several teams actually picked ahead of them...something like that could happen again, not saying it'll have to do with the vikings but it'll be easy to fall behind....I'm glad we have Tuna and not Wanny. Ozzy rules!!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_NFL_Draft The 2008 NFL Draft will take place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City from April 26 to April 27, 2008. For the 29th consecutive year, the draft will be televised on ESPN and ESPN2; the NFL Network will also broadcast coverage of the event, its third year doing so. The 2008 Draft is currently scheduled to have 254 draft selections: 220 regular selections in rounds one through seven (two selections were exercised in the 2007 NFL Supplemental Draft and the Patriots were penalized a pick by the NFL),[1] plus 32 compensatory selections, distributed among rounds three through seven. ("Selection" is the official NFL term, although the more commonly-used term is "picks.") This will be the second draft presided over by current NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Changes for 2008 The new NFL logo, which will officially go into use at the 2008 draft. The draft will mark the official debut of a new NFL shield logo,[2] replacing the old shield logo which had been used since 1976. Changes in the logo will not be the only change at the 2008 Draft. Only two rounds will take place during the first day (three in previous years), starting at 3:00 p.m. ET (noon in previous years). Limits in the amount of time a team has to make a selection have also changed: the first round has been reduced to ten minutes (from fifteen) and the second round was reduced from ten minutes to seven. The second day will begin at 10:00 a.m. ET, with no changes to the selection time limit (five minutes).[3] First Round 1.Miami (1-14) 2.New York Jets (3-12) 3.Atlanta (3-12) 4.St. Louis (3-12) 5.Baltimore (4-11) 6.Kansas City (4-11) 7.Oakland (4-11) 8.New England (from San Francisco) (5-10) 9.Cincinnati (6-9) 10.Chicago (6-9) 11.Carolina (6-9) 12.Denver (6-9) 13.Arizona (7-8) 14.Detroit (7-8) 15.Philadelphia (7-8) 16.New Orleans (7-8) 17.Buffalo (7-8) 18.Houston (7-8) 19.Minnesota (8-7) 20.Washington (8-7) 21.San Diego (10-5) 22.Dallas (from Cleveland) (9-6) 23.Tennessee (9-6) 24.Tampa Bay (9-6) 25.Seattle (10-5) 26.Pittsburgh (10-5) 27.New York Giants (10-5) 28.Jacksonville (11-4) 29.Green Bay (12-3) 30.San Francisco (from Indianapolis) (13-2) 31.Dallas (13-2) 32.New England (pick forfeited) (15-0) The Miami Dolphins are on the clock...
Draft day is one of my most looked forward to days of the year... since the Dolphins suck *** the past few years. One of my best friends is getting married on the same day as the draft, and i'm in the wedding. Looking like i'll be missing my first draft in a long, long time.
I've read 4 mock drafts from the "experts" so far and they all have us not picking McFadden with the first pick. I've seen 2 saying we're picking Dorsey, 1 Brohm and 1 Brennan. Of course it's early and that will change but that's what I've been reading.
I've read so many posts that's it's dizzying too, and you can bet that there will be many more in the upcoming weeks. There are so many possiblities about the FIRST pick and too many to name. I'm thinking about going, but maybe I'll need a can of Insect Repelent for those Jet Fans.
Yep! Let me know closer to the draft if you plan to go - we'll meet up and spray lots of insect repellant on those Jet fans.
