The whole "QB vs. QB" thing has always been stupid. Brady vs. Manning! Romo vs. Eli! Marino vs. Kelly! Brady has beaten Manning so man more times! This isn't tennis. The only time quarterbacks are on the same field together is when they're warming up or shaking hands after the game. It's offense vs. defense.
In Dolphin25's defense, he didn't say "vs", he said "Wilson-Tannehill show", and since the QB's are the star attractions that is an appropriate comment imo.
He actually did say it. And in my opinion, you know EXACTLY what he was trying to say...and it was inappropriate. Lets just be honest.
exactly and it will show some the differences in the 2 QB's. Since there has been a huge debate on here about the comparison of the 2 QB's. It will fun to see the both on the same field playing so people can see the differences.
The Dolphins play the Bengals in Cincinnati, may be first time in 40 years Dolphins have been close where I don't go to the game.
Correction, you ASSUME you know what he was trying to say, people do see what they want at times, but see the comment directly beneath yours, that is actually what he meant to say, and that is what I got from his initial comment, it's all in the composition. He didn't say; "I am certainly looking forward to Russell vs Tannehill." he said "I am certainly looking forward to the Russell vs Tannehill show." Indicating that he is looking forward to seeing both QB's compete, due in large part to the insane amount of comparing these 2 QB's on this site.
Correction. you ASSUME nobody else can read through the BS you are throwing out there. Even Dolphin 25 admitted it in the previous post. You are trying too hard. I have no problem if he feels that way, I disagree with it, but have no problem with it. To twist things that were actually typed, and put your spin on it to lessen the blow is transparent and laughable.
actually Finster is correct. I actually don't know what argument you are trying to make. Indicating that he is looking forward to seeing both QB's compete, due in large part to the insane amount of comparing these 2 QB's on this site. That! I think it will be interesting to hear the responses of those that see them both play, Many try to compare Tannehill to Wilson, but I don't think they have ever actually seen Wilson play.
They have seen him play and they pray for his failure for they can say see Tannehill is his equal. If you go back to about 14 months ago on this bord you can find people fuming over the comeback Wilson lead against the Packers in the playoffs. They were talking **** for a whole 3 and a half quarters about how terrible he is until the final minutes where he made plays, throws and playmaking ability that has never been seen on a Dolphins uniform since Marino.
I have no problem saying Wilson has been better. Are you going to look forward to watching Tannehill compete against other QB's during the season? I doubt it. You really just want to stick it to other Dolphin fans, THATS THE POINT I"M TRYING TO MAKE. I wonder what kind of dilemma you will have when at the end of that game either Tannehill or Wilson will have the ball with a chance to win...what YOU will be rooting for? I know what 99% of "Dolphin fans" will be rooting for....you and a few others? Not so sure.
Well Tannehill hopefully can prove himself. As really just hope he can do so. But one thing for certain, 99.9% Fin fans stay that way through thick and thin.
It's gonna be a fun game to watch. Especially if we have a decent oline performance. The draft could add intrigue, as well. Imagine if we land Jakeem Grant or LaQuan Mc Gowan. I don't remember the last time we played Seattle. I can't wait to see Parker and Landry against that secondary.
No, my point is I will find it interesting to see what some people here think once they actually watch Wilson play in a normal game compared to what they think Tannehill is. I have no need to "stick it to other Dolphin fans as Wilson has proven over and over he can make plays. I wonder after the game if others can think, ok MAYBE Wilson is better then Tannehill after all. "I know what 99% of "Dolphin fans" will be rooting for....you and a few others? Not so sure" that is really just a childish comment, any fan here will be rooting for the Dolphins to win.
I am glad you feel that way 25, I do not always get that feeling when I read your posts. I think a lot of the others that you speak of have seen Wilson play...but they also factor in other things, like the rest of the team, the running game and that defense. AS for Finster, I get you do not like Tannehill. I get the shots you take at him every time you post about him. But I really think people get tired of the same old comparisons. Very few people will view the opener as Tannehill vs Wilson except people who want to prove other people wrong....and stick it to other Dolphin fans. And you seeing Tannehill vs Wilson as a legit reason to promote that game does not make me angry....makes me kind of sad.
Where do you come up with this stuff? I don't take shots at QB17, nor do I dislike him, I just don't think he is or will be a franchise QB, simple stuff. When did I compare the 2? When did I promote the game as Wilson vs QB17? Why are you accusing me of things I clearly have not done? As far as wanting to prove people wrong, haven't you made posts about people having to eat crow if QB17 does rise to a franchise QB? People in glass houses and all that.
We beat them. They went 13-3 and lost to NO in the NFC championship game. Last time in Seattle... We could have won. We were driving down the field to do so in fact. Then Fiedler throws a pick six and I go home soaked in beer.
This is ridiculous. The POINT we were making about Wilson and the Seahawks in that playoff game, was that if Tannehill played the way Wilson did: 1. People would be burning effigies of Tannehill 2. The Dolphins would be so far behind that throwing a td in the fourth would be like throwing a thimble full of water out of the Titanic It was the perfect example of you people's inaccurate assessment of Wilson and the Seahawks. Posters on here gave Wilson all the credit, yet the reason they were able to pull out a win was because his defense played great all game long. It's been the argument all along, that Wilson benefits greatly from a great defense.
Wilson and Tannehill are completely different QBs. The ONLY reason comparisons are made is because certain people like to continually make posts expecting Tannehill to play like Wilson. It will never happen. Wilson is a Barry Sanders-esque runner, who can also throw. Tannehill is a pocket QB with some mobility. Wilson has a great defense, good/great run game, and good coaching. Tannehill has not had those things. That's the comparison between the two.
We all want the Dolphins to win, we just disagree on how. Some think Tannehill can lead the Dolphins to win at some point and time so they get mad when others say the can't. Some think he can't and they get mad cause time is going by and so far he hasn't. I want the Dolphins to win, so I get upset when people want to keep him cause I don't think he can. Others get mad at me cause they think he can and want to keep him; but both groups want the Dolphins to win. Our running game per yard has been as good as Seattle. The defenses are different, but the Seahawks offense last year was putting up crazy numbers after mid season which helped their struggling defense ( a defense that lost 2-3 leads on the last drive of the game I believe)
LI phinfan I am glad you feel that way 25, I do not always get that feeling when I read your posts; what have I ever said that would made you think I don't want the Dolphins to win?
No one cares if you think Thill can do it or not. People get mad when you justify that stance with poor arguments. If you just said, 'I don't believe Thill can do it, and I have no good reason why, i just don't." No one would argue with you. However, you, like many others, make demonstrably false claims like W/L record being on thill, or saying the QB should have "it", or any number of other silly and absurd reasons. People act like the purpose of this site is to be like a comment section on youtube, where they make a baseless declaration and then bounce, when the point of this place is to be a community that discusses stuff in depth with rational thought and football acumen. So, when you guys jump in with "Thill can't do it" and we ask, "why?" and we get back answers like, "well we haven't made the playoffs yet", then you're going to get pushback and be expected to defend that nonsense in some way that makes sense logically, statistically or through watching the film. Which never happens.
West coast So Cal back to back on the road. Will they just stay in Cali for the Chargers then the Rams an hour up the freeway?
That is the plan, they asked the league to schedule 2 of their 3 WC games BTB for that specific reason, they did it before some years ago.
