Evening / Morning from all the way in Liverpool. Me and the wife will be visiting Florida in October and will be able to go to the Steelers @ Dolphins game. Basically before I buy anything I just wondering if any one could give me some info on the following. 1- Best Tickets to buy for first time match goers? 2 -Can we just go to stadium and get tickets on the day or do game day tickets sell out quick so I should buy soon? 3 -Best way to get to the Stadium from Disney Land ? 4 -Are we allowed to bring our own refreshments/food into the stadium? If not how much , on average, are refreshments/food. Which stand is the "away" end ? Just so I don't accidently buy tickets in the Steelers section. Thanks in advance for any information provided. Regards Nathan
Better get your tickets asap, there will be 30000 steelers fans in that building..rent a car...Hotwire.com is good for hotels and cars.
Dolphins sideline is the 40-50 sections like 140-150, 240-250, 340-350 ect. My personal favorite seats are in the 341/342 sections with low row numbers. I use Stubhub to buy tickets. or Single game tickets go on sale May 3rd on Miamidolphins.com 3) Basically the only way is the Florida Turnpike which goes pretty much direct shot from Disney to the stadium. about $15 in tolls. You can take I-95 with no tolls but the extra time travel isn't worth it. 4) Outside food is NOT allowed in. I think you can bring 1-2 SEALED bottles of WATER (no sodas/beer) per person into the stadium. Inside the stadium expect to pay $4-5 for non-alcoholic drinks $8+ for beers depending on what you want.
Thank you for the info. Gonna have to try and convince the Mrs to let me drive over in America lol. Sorry to ask more questions, I guess I can drive in US with a UK car license with out any issues?
You won't be able to rent a car with a UK license. I don't know exactly how it works but I had some family come over from England and they had to get a International permit. Best bet is to go to your driver licensing building and ask about it. If you cant get a rental You could use public transit. There's a train system called Amtrak That has stops in Orlando and Miami and you could use Public Bus or Taxi from there. I'm sure theres other ways also. I'm not sure if they are still around but there are like "Party Buses" (for lock of a better term) where you pay $x amount and a bunch of people ride down together on the bus. Usually Food and a few drink are included for some tailgating.
Again, thank you very much. I have lots of homework to do now to try and squeeze this into an already jam packed holiday
Yeah that was one of the first things I noticed. But I'm a long distance HGV driver in the UK. Not as long as our American cousins, but 3-4 hour drive is ok for me
Quick update, going to get tickets for the Titans @ Dolphins match, bit cheaper and its in the middle of the holiday rather than at the end
I say this to every person from England that comes here.... Bring sunscreen. I know its October, but it could still be sunny and hot as hell. The stadium should have the new shade screen up, but anywhere not in the stadium could be brutal for you.
Defo mate, Mrs is Scottish so she gets sunburnt standing under a light to long never mind the sun. So we bought tickets last night on stub hub. Section 347 - row 8 I spoke to the online chat and the person said I can get into the stadium using the stubhub app to scan tickets then on our confirmation email it said we cant. What do you good people usually do?
You can rent a car fine with a UK license, done it many a time in the US. You need to get a "check code" from this site (https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence) a week or so before you leave then give it to your car hire company. Jealous as hell, the only game I was hoping to make this year was Seattle away but I doubt I can do that as my holiday window covered from after week 4, trying to see if I can get it moved but not looking hopeful
Cheers mate. I did want to go watch the Steelers game because why the hell not but its the day before we leave so decided to go to titans game instead , right in the middle of holiday and we can hang round Miami for a bit afterwards do some site seeing then go back. Do you live out in US or you in Scotland?
The game won't finish until 5pm ish. By the time you're out of the stadium and in your car in will be going dark (It's October in the Northern hemishere !) If you want to sight see stay overnight. We (a few years ago) drove down to Fort lauderdale and stayed there overnight (fab place). Don't forget the club shop before you go in !!!!! Soooooo much stuff !!!! Oh and take a light plastic rain coat. It may rain. It did on our second visit !!!!!!!
If you can print them out, that's always the best option. Apparently a lot of stadiums are going to this format where you just load the tickets on your phone and they scan your phone at the stadium. But if they allow you to bring printed out tickets, that'll be easier.
Thanks Crazy face, Yeah club shop is defo on the list! Want to get myself a Jersey. Little rain coat, check! Yeah I suppose it will be getting on by the time we leave and it will be first time driving in the dark in a different country. Talking about parking....just turn up? I noticed there are designated areas (yellow, orange, red) but always grey "paid parking" areas. Do I just turn up and park in one of them? How much?
Thanks Rocky, will see if the Virgin people kiosk has a printer I can borrow. Sent from my SM-T555 using Tapatalk
You should have no problem finding a place to print them. They might even be available to print well before your trip too.
Colored areas are probably season ticket holders. You can probably buy parking passes on stub hub also. Those areas people go all out on tailgating before the game. Most of the paid parking around the stadium is $20-$25
Not long now till I go to this game!!! Still haven't bought my parking ticket so I'm just gonna drive to stadium and try and buy a space using cash! If any one would like to meet up and say hello then hit me up! Sent from my SM-T555 using Tapatalk
Well the team I support in rugby league was knocked out of the end of season tournament this week so I wouldn't count on it hahaha Sent from my SM-T555 using Tapatalk
You shouldn't have a problem getting in to a cash lot. If you can help it, try to get into the cash lot closest to the parking booths off the interstate. It will be way easier to leave and quicker to leave after the game.
Hey everyone! I'm back from Florida, two weeks went by in the blink of an eye. I enjoyed my visit to the dolphins, after the game against the Titans then the great result this week I feel like this is my team, because I got through the same stuff atm with my rugby league team. Ps. this was my Wife's first sporting event and she loved it! Here are some photos of my day. Sent from my SM-T555 using Tapatalk
Haha it was the Titans game I went to and they certainly dominated! Took the pictures before the stadium filled up. I was then completely awestruck at the spectacle of the game. The fireworks, the national anthem and everything Sent from my SM-T555 using Tapatalk
Came of X2? Junction slip road then followed signs for Yellow cash parking. Got there about 1030ish. Sent from my SM-T555 using Tapatalk
