Beck not getting any play time is interesting he might want to see what McCown can do in extended playing time.
Beck may not play?! Jeez, unless its an injury, hes gotta be the favorite as the odd-man out if CP actually gets signed.
This is not a good sign for Beck unless he has some kind of injury. I expected Mc Nown to start but also I expected Beck to get a lot of the snaps .
CK posts in the Club a reasonable scenario whereby Beck not playing is actually a good thing if the staff sticks to the rotation they've been using. Maybe he'll post it in the main.
That was just speculation by Omar Kelly, nothing credible- he is assuming they will run the game like they do camp, which is probably not true
Heh, maybe it's just that the staff wants to evaluate McCown before deciding whether to possibly dump him for Pennington...
Like the news on cobbs and ricky and hagen. The whole who's playing qb and what does it mean i don't really think anyone knows. Even if beck doesn't play, it could mean a world of different things. Sure there is reasoning behind whoever they start, play and sit, but no one will know what exactly that is until after its all said and done, then it will all makes sense. No point in getting too worked up about what this means or that means until they actively decide on stuff. If Mccown does start and henne gets reps, i just hope they both find success in their own way and make positive things happen for phins.
Upon further review it could be that they want to give Mc Cown a good look before deciding whether to keep him or sign Pennington. When they signed Mc Cown there was not much to choose from as far as veteran FA QBs go . Who starts the second game will be more telling IMO.
Sorry if this has been answered, but DON'T read into this at all. Omar, on a hunch, speculates Beck might not play. No inside info, no signs, nothing. Just a hunch. That's all KFFL is reporting (note Sun-sentinel is reporting this)
That is a very sound opinion and I whole heartedly agree. The think the plan in the first 2 preseason games was to start one in game one and the other in game 2. It is probably better for Beck to start game 2 as the "starters" usually play longer in 2 then 1. I think who starts game 3 will be the most telling on who is going to start week 1. On the other note, IF WE BRING IN CHAD I think : 1. McCown will be gone, 2. Beck starts week 1. I don't think Chad would be ready to go week 1 and he will be just what McCown was brought in here to be (only better) a veteran backup/insurance policy so if the starter (Beck) gets injured we won't have to rush Henne in before he is ready.
This provides a clue bro: http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/football/pro/dolphins/sfl-flspdolrail08sbaug08,0,787957.story
You ******* did you have to remind me of my school's last first round pick. Made a laughing stock of us...
