As others have said, it has the potential to go either way. We won't know for a few seasons. I know that a few people will be pulling their hair out if Ramsey or Jack make it to 8 though.

It appears that a lot of the value yet to be revealed in this trade is going to rest on one guys ripped up knee. Apparently the Dolphins were willing to take a chance that Humpty Dumpty Kiko can be put back together....even his knee.

If they are right and we get the 2013 version of Kiko Alonso, there are going to be a lot of people regretting what they wrote; and if we get Darron Lee at 13, then our LB corps goes from crap to gold.

I have no problem with giving up draft compensation for Maxwell, but he is still being paid too much, even after the restructuring.

That's another reason I dislike this trade...if Ramsey/Jack were to somehow fall past Dallas into that 5/6 range, moving up is now that much harder to do.

Where you pick in the draft means absolutely nothing. There are good players on the board at every slot and I will move down 10 times out of 10 in a deal that brings me additional starters.

Wrong!!Ask any eagles fan last year kiko was terrible the entire season when he was healthy enough to play.Let's just hope it was because he was never truly healthy.2013 kiko amazing.2015 kiko sucked.

I probably wouldn't have made the trade myself unless you gave me a month to stew on it. If I had a long time I may have convinced myself to pull the trigger but I'm a pretty low-risk type of guy. And honestly, that low-risk mentality doesn't win championships. I'll be the first to admit, I've supported a lot of losers because I thought that being conservative and holding fire was the right thing to do.

Now, I know that it doesn't seem fair from the outside because it appears that the Eagles pulled a fast one and pawned guys off on Miami that they didn't want anyway, but just because the Eagles walked away pounding their chest and talking big to the media doesn't mean they actually pulled the rug out from under Miami.

For one, I think both teams benefited from the trade. Miami got a key player (Maxwell) plus an additional lottery pick (Alonso). Plus, given what Miami's looking for (DE, LB, CB, RB, OG) the 13th pick is still going to provide a lot of options so Miami didn't lose very much. In fact, we may see the team trade down again.

At the end of the day, both the Eagles and the Dolphins are rebuilding yet Miami comes away from the deal looking like the more disciplined and patient team. They have less needs now while the Eagles have more. The Eagles look like the aggressive team while the Dolphins actions look more calculated.

This may not be a deal that most of us would've done--at least not on the surface--but it's far from something that should tick you off.

which is a pretty stupid thing to say without even knowing who we will get at 13.

Excuse my ignorance, but why doesn't the Head Coach sort out the picks?

Thanks for the link. That was a good read, and as the writer points out, he actually has been pretty successful when he trades draft picks for players. Its not generally my preferred method, but if it works then you have to aknowledge it.

If we lose out on possible future all pros like Jack or Hargreaves because of the drop of 5 spots in the first round then lets see how we feel. TBaum wont probably have to worry about it because he will probably not last that long.

Under normal circumstances I would agree with this, but b/c ross is the owner I'm not so sure. I believe this is the setup(tannenbaum) ross wanted back in '99 when he tried to purchase the stinkin jest.

That's true, but you also have to consider the potential of the trade as well. What if a guy like Elliot falls to 13, or Hagreaves, whom we may have even targeted at 8. Imo Grimes is done and I do believe Maxwell will be a big upgrade. Kiko is an unknown commodity but with Koa moving back to his natural position of Sam, I have a feeling Kiko is also going to be an upgrade over a mediocre at best Mike in Sheppard. You're probably right that if a guy like Jack or Ramsey fall then Philly will be smitten with this trade, but if Grimes continues to impersonate a miniature piece of burnt toast on Sunday's, I'm liking the potential of this trade very much.

    Here and there
Yes Alex but you know with some fans it's not about who we got it's about who we didn't get.
