YES, he was drafted in 1986 and of course Shula was the coach. One of the GREAT picks in the 80's !

    A (x5) Pro Bowl (1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990)

    Year(s): 1986-1993
    NFL Draft: 1986 / Round: 2 / Pick: 52
    College: Western Michigan

if you are going to get a QB, either anderson or quinn, since you are looking to trade out of the first spot to save the money and get more picks, hiring the coach who knows the QB makes tranition faster

    Parcells Wants Romeo?

ESPNews just said that the latest rumor is that if Cameron is let go Parcells has already talked to Romeo about coaching Miami. Romeo of course is denying this, but it could collaborate Parcells looking at Clevelands QBs. Who knows, but where there's smoke, there's fire.

When PFT starts a rumor, it flys through the media real fast.

PFT actually breaks plenty of stories. Florio was first to report that people were telling him that Parcells was not going to Atlanta. Where PFT gets in trouble is when Florio just speculates and throws crap at the wall.

Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo ? Romeo has two years left on his contract I believe. The media loves to start those " rumors ".

    In the draft war room
I would not want to give up draft picks to get Romeo Crennel. Draft picks are a premium for us.

I think there is something to this. Whether it is likely to happen is less important than why "insiders" (Parcells' friends) want us to know about it.

25% Parcells has simply just told friends that he feels Romeo is a coach he would hire if he had his choice. This may have been before Parcells was even talking the Dolphins or Falcons. These friends are simply giving "insiders" the best scoop they've got.
25% Parcells has already talked to his good friend Romeo, and discussed hiring him if Romeo is fired. Romeo's denial already sounds like this conversation has taken place.
25% Parcells is targeting Romeo as "his guy" and is going to pursue him even if it means giving up a draft pick.
25% Parcells is throwing his old friend a bone in the hopes that the rumor that Miami will swoop him up may help Romeo keep his job in Cleveland.
25% (hey it's a bulls*** rumor anyway I can go over 100% if I want) PFT, which has had a new Dolphin rumor every day is just using the hiring of the secretive Parcells to hype up his website as it unveils it's new redesign.

I have to stop this right now.

Regardless of the Browns finish this season, Romeo will NOT be fired. The Browns ahve seriously overacheived this season and only a complete moron of a VP/ Owner would fire a coach after that. It immeadiatly sets the franchise back 3-4 seasons.

I live in NEOH and the HUGE majority of Browns fans are wetting themselves at the POSSIBILITY of getting into the playoffs. The only complaint they have is losing twice to the Sti'lers.

I'd rather have Jason Garrett or Mike Singletary as our HC....even if they don't have HC experience.
