Whiteside for that pick alone is pretty good. Getting rid of McBob in the deal is a coup. Definitely sounds too good to be true.
Yeah I'd do Whiteside for the pick.. Barry Jackson says the Heat think Whiteside price range will be too high for them in the summer.. and then suddenly deleted the tweet. If they believe that, then it's time to get what you can for the guy and move along.. and then flip that pick with Dragic for a star player if possible..
I agree. If you don't think you can keep him, you have to try and move him. If you can get something good with that and Dragic, I'd be good with that, but I'd also be fine keeping the pick, keeping Dragic, and using the money you now aren't spending on Whiteside on help in the offseason.
Also, with what Section said the other day about Whiteside saying he wants to stay in Miami, how great would it be to move him at the deadline for something of value, then sign him in the offseason? I know that almost never happens, but this could be a rare situation where it would actually make a little bit of sense seeing that no one will have his Bird rights, and Miami is still more lucrative because of the state tax situation.
Danny Ainge would flip his **** if that happened and we would be banned from ever calling the Celtics again. If you think they hate the Lakers, if we take their lottery pick and take Whiteside in the offseason, we'll be on the top of their **** list over the Lakers. Not that I give a damn of course.
It would take more than that pick for Winslow alone, let alone Whiteside. They offered us that pick along with several others during the draft and I don't think he's done anything to lower his stock since then.
Celtic fans aren't saying anything about Whiteside, theyre so caught up with a trade with Cleveland or Atlanta, they think their first round pick will net them either Kevin Love or Al Horford before the deadline is over. Just don't see the Cavaliers trading Love after Lebron already said no.
Agreed. I was just saying that Whiteside as the centerpiece in a deal for the BKN pick just doesn't make sense. That doesn't add up with Whiteside's contract expiring.
If I were the Hawks I might bite on Horford for that pick. They might lose Horford anyway, and that pick could turn into Simmons or Ingram.

Al Horford to Boston is dead as a door nail. Only suitors are the Heat and Raptors, but neither has adequate assets.
Heat trying to complete deal for shooter/s I am told. Casspi deal is on table. Heat do not want to part with TJ. Heat trying to get Gerald Henderson from Portland. I think the Heat are keeping McBob. Hard time finding a suitable trade. Will post more when I get it.
They're saying the pick they get for Stokes is very protected so this is a luxury tax move that saves $2 million in luxury tax and leaves them $2.6 million above the tax.
THIS STAYS HERE..goes without saying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Confirmation on Heat trying to Deal for Gerald Henderson, Omri Casspi and Randy Foye. Severe lack of assets (those that they are willing to trade) making this harder to do.
I really don't get not wanting to part with TJ. This team badly needs shooters, and if trading him can get one, they should do so.
Pistons staying active. Adrian Wojnarowski @WojVerticalNBA Houston has traded Donatas Motiejunas and Marcus Thornton to the Detroit Pistons, league sources tell @TheVertical
heat also sent $700,000 in cash to Pelicans, to complete trade. Good Bidness....send $700k ...save 2.1 Million.
