I have relatives that were in a N.C. Brigade during the Civil War and my County (in N.C.) where I live is named after Mad Anthony. Very small world.
You should watch the History Detectives program on TLBL. It shows where they found cartriges, un-fired rounds and bodies. Some of the graves are not in the right places but it shows the terrain and the gulleys very well. Custer literally stuck his hand (unit) into a hornet's nest... that always sucks.
