Despite all the talk about QB driven league, I don't think the game has changed in it's key to success. To me it still all starts up front. We just have to get better at stopping the run and protecting the QB/being more consistent in run blocking.

So I go OL (RG priority if the new coaches are smart enough to put Turner in at LG) and I wouldn't touch the skill position with the exception of resigning players, especially Miller.
Front 7 is a problem, you got to fix that. We need at least one playmaking LB, plus pobably DEs depending on what happens with Shelby and Vernon.

Add a good coaching staff and I'm confident that we have a good team once we fix these two areas. If you want to be great you also need to address the secondary, but I wouldn't do that until we solidified the front 7.

    depth at T besides Fox

This all changes depending on what we do with Vernon and Shelby. If we resign both then we are good. If we lose Vernon then I think this becomes our #2 priority behind OG. If we lose Shelby then I would put this behind OT depth.

I think a solid head coach will suddenly "unveil" a lot of latent talent. This list will be in flux monthly until the draft is over...

One position I'm a bit surprised everyone seems content with: kicker. Was Franks honestly much better than Sturgis?

He was barely given a shot to prove himself one way or another on FGs. He did well when he was called upon. It was a bizarre year with so few FG attempts, but I think that it was situational, and not because of lack of faith. His kickoffs were generally very good. No obvious reason not to bring him back for 2016.

Franks didn't miss anything under 40, Sturgis has missed 5 under 40, in only 50 att in that range(3 yrs), that is horrible, Carpenter has missed 5 inside 40 in 127 att(8 yrs) for comparison.

Very few att this year (16), less than half the att Sturgis had in either year here(34 and 37), so kind of hard to get a good gauge, but all of his 3 misses were beyond 40, and kickoffs were good, so not a priority to change him, especially with all the problems we have.

Holy Moly... I just notice 9.40 Million a year for Albert. We sure could use that for something decent.

We wouldn't just gain all that space by letting him go, though. Albert's cap number for 2016 is 10.15 million, and we'd take a 5.1 mil dead money hit by cutting him. Its highly unlikely he's released by the team this offseason. In a year, when its a 7.3 savings vs a 3.4 hit, then he might be, and he's certainly not playing 2018 at a 11.3 million cap number.

There's a void in the heart of our defense that can't make a third down stop and keeps the D on the field too long. I'm for LB first, followed by OG and DB.

Need to give Tannehill one more year, and OG is low on the list, indicating its relative unimportance. If your list is long enough, you will have covered all of the positions on the field.

We have a TE... and can re-sign DE. Move OG to #2 and all is good.

    I'd say:

    Safety
    OGs
    OTs
    LBs
    CBs
    DEs
    TEs
    DTs
    Returner
    RBs
    WRs
    Kicker
    Punter
    QBs

I'd double up on S, OG and LB in both the draft and FA. If my top two (Ramsey, S, Jack, LB) are gone at 8 then I'd go CB then OT based on position value and talent in this draft. Really after the top four or five positions in terms of need I'd mostly be looking BPA in the draft.

I can understand people giving Tannehill another year to prove it, but putting QB at the very end of a list in terms of needs is REALLY stretching it, especially when you have WR's (where we're strong) above that.

I'd only be looking at QB as a potential replacement for Moore, but that became a lower priority b/c I heard his salary cap number dropped and I see some potential in Logan Thomas. I'd consider a WR before QB since it's likely we'll lose Matthews and with us sometimes going 5 wide we'll need bodies. I guess I'd put QB above punter or kicker but that's it.

To each his own, but if I keep your list intact except for QB, I'd put QB above returner but below DT. Even losing Matthews, we're doing fine at WR, and I'm guessing we re-sign Miller so RB is fine. And the need to have a project QB that can for awhile be a backup QB with a small probability of being a starter outweighs IMO drafting/signing another returner, RB or WR.

Based on what we're hearing in the club you seem more optimistic about re-signing Miller than the team does. The odds of a returner, RB or WR contributing are far higher than a second project QB.

If we don't re-sign Miller, then RB has to be WAY higher than where you put it (probably even above DE but below CB). And sure the odds of a returner, RB or WR contributing are far higher than a backup project QB, but if we re-sign Miller those aren't positions of need. Factor in need and you can understand why I'd place QB right below DT on your list. Anyway, all this is subjective so it's not important but that's my reasoning.
