Position coach seems like an appropriate level for him.

Yea, but he had 4 years to make something of our oline and failed miserably. indy will have the softest oline in the league.

Yeah but at least Indy's OL will have the best stances in the league, and that's all that matters.

It really depends on the talent more than the coaching .If he has enough he can put his coaching in Cruise control

Maybe he can do us a solid and get the Colts to give us a draft pick for Dallas Thomas.

Philbin wasn't responsible for bringing in the OL talent. Not was he directly responsible for coaching them. Moreover, we now know that despite mentions of RT17 in a favourable light he was actually opposed to Ryan's presence. Thus it's possible that despite saying nice things about the OL and believing in them, he wasn't happy with them either.

One thing is certain, the Colts have had the chance to kick the tires on Philbin and the Dolphins' record is plain. Perhaps they're delusional but if there's anyone here who is unaware if anything it's more likely us than the Colts FO.

All part of a plan that involves them getting the #1 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft? Wait, does this mean we can trade Dallas Thomas to the Colts, so Philbin can build their OL around him?

    ;)

Edit: Beaten like a Dallas Thomas whiff block!

I agree. I never wanted Philbin as the head coach from day one, but it was Ireland, Hickey, and Tannebaum who drafted or signed in free agency the offensive linemen on this team.

They never signed or drafted a decent guard except for Incognito and we all know how that ended up. They also had the worst backups on the OL in the entire league.

So while I am happy Philbin is no longer in Miami. If Gase has to deal with the same OL talent Philbin was forced to work with for the last four years, he won't be in Miami for long either.

Vontae is a good guy and so is Philbin. Vontae did laugh at Philbin being fired earlier this year, but he will talk it over with Philbin and everything will be fine. With that said we wont hear Philbins name ever again.. Except here of course

Joe had his reasons for being dismissed, and I do not like the fact that he was trying to set Ryan Tannehill up as a fall guy. However, he was not the driving force behind the Vontae Davis trade. Vontae's immaturity had been wearing on Miami's front office before Joe got here. He had a down season in 2011, and Jeff was looking to move him that off season. Joe's input on the matter was that he didn't feel Vontae would ever realize his potential in Miami. That is probably true with the coaching staff he had. However, Joe Philbin isn't the one that went to Jeff Ireland and requested that Vontae be traded. Ireland was also looking to move Brandon Marshall after the 2011 season, which is when the incident with his wife happened.

Nah, the Giants are too smart to hire a Joe Philbin type. You dont win Super Bowls by putting guys like Joe Philbin in any position of authority.

And they'll have a bunch of clean cut, God fearing, dudes that coaches daughters would love to be deflowered by!

Funny thing is that if Pagano gets canned within the next two years and Philbin is on the team still, he could weasel his way into another head coaching job.

The interview went something like this,

    Philbin:

You all are aware how dysfunctional the front office of the Miami Dolphins are. I mean geez I was there 47th pick for Head Coach. I didnt draft, I didn't coach any of the players, especially the offensive line and they handicapped me with Ryan Tannehill. I mean have you seen the guy play - He couldnt hit the side of a barn at 20 yards, then you throw in that guy, snap, snap, snap, what was his name--------------oh yea thats right Ritchie Martin. That son of a ***** kept texting me to get rid of snap, snap, snap oh what was his name? Davis Johnathan

Chuck Pagano : You mean Vonte Davis

That's right - him. He would make eyes at me in practice. Watching me everywhere I would go. I would have nightmare's at night and cold sweets during practice. He was really throwing off my mojo.

As you can see this was a hostile work environment. I just need a stable work environment with beautiful flowers in the garden like I saw out front, and good coffee in the morning, not that dam crap that had in Miami - Starbucks. Stuff way to weak..........kind of like our defense - which I was definitely not responsible for that was that guy they saddled me with Kevin Lazer.

By the way are you guys looking for a good QB, I know a guy, snap, snap, snap his name eludes me but I once saw him throw the ball 15 yards to a streaking linebacker, er receiver Ginny was his name. pause yea that was his name I think. I wasn't responsible for the receivers though. oh hey that qb his name is Garrard, best QB I ever seen

    Pause

Chuck Pagano: Laughs, we got a pretty decent QB here. I think we are all set in that regard. Talk to me about what you would do to fix our offensive line. We believe the offensive line is very important

Philpin: Well first you never directly answer the questions the media asks you. They always blame people for things that are not their fault, if I had some good coffee I would be much better, but i don't buy the coffee, it was the damn front office. Just get that Qb I was telling you about, snap, snap, snap his name eludes me but man can he run. I can call Zac and get his number. But to answer your question I can get it done. Do you have a Alpha male, Gotti type figure. Preferably Italian. They can do wonders for your line. I would put him in charge of the line, er I mean get him to set things straight in a manly way. I firmly believe in tough linemen with attitudes. So you see I can get the job done and I would appreciate a shot.

Chuck Pagano: well I would like to give you a shot - how about ASST Head Coach/in charge of the offensive line.

Philbin: Sounds good, but the Head Coach is responsible right?

Chuck Pagano: yes, yes he is

Philbin: Great!! I will take it. What kind of coffee do you guys have?

totally agree. Anybody responsible for drafting, recruiting FAs or coaching our O-line during the Philbin years shouldn't get a job in High School football, let alone the NFL. The only "succes" we've had was when we paid top dollar for a OT who is very good but injury prone. I wouldn't put Juwan James on the success list because he goes in with the other draftees including Jonathon Martin and Billy Turner. When you devote that many 1st and 2nd round picks to the O-line you should come out 4 years later with the 1990 hogs, not turnstiles.

Isn't that ironic. It seems that nowadays all you need is a great network...What did Joe Philbin accomplish while coaching the Miami Dolphins that qualifies him for another coaching job in the NFL. There are certainly a lot of coaches out there who will never make it to the NFL because they simply don't know the right people. Meanwhile Joe Philbin continues to make millions. I feel sorry for the Colts Fans, don't get me wrong Joe would most likely be the best quality control coach in the NFL, but Oline Coach just doesn't make sense to me.
