From what I read, he is the DB coach of the Bengals and has never been a DC.
Coyle was the DB coach of the Bengals and had not previously been a DC before Philbin hired him for that job with the Dolphins.

Hopefully Joseph will be better than the last DB coach the Dolphins hired from the Bengals.

    Its an assumnption right now.

The #Dolphins will officially introduce Adam Gase as their new head coach today at 3 pm. Expect #Bengals DBs coach Vance Joseph to be his DC

Lets not get the cart before the horse although both are getting prepared for the parade. :wink2:

He's been a DB coach in the NFL since 2005 (he was the assistant DB coach in 2005 before he was promoted).

He's been the DB coach for the 49ers, Texans, and Bengals.

He's probably not running the Bengals/Mike Zimmer defense. It's likely a 3-4 variant.

His influences are much more Wade Phillips and Mike Nolan. Denver wanted him before they hired Wade Phillips(presumably the run similar defenses) and when Gase interviewed with the 49ers he wanted to keep Fangio(or get Joseph) over keeping Tomsula.

Actually, the deal fell apart for Gase to coach the Niners because the TEAM insisted he keep Fangio. Gase wanted to bring his own people in.

Could be just trying to save the fact it leaked out already. No way it's not a done deal when the main parts of his staff are announced!

In the presser, Gase said he hadn't made any hires.

Couldn't even get Vic Fangio? What a joke. Vance Joseph would've been great if Hue Jackson was signed. Why mix coaches? At least get coaches who have some sort of chemistry.

That would be this thing called tampering as he's a Chicago Bear DC.

It's also why they are backtracking across the board on the Joseph leak. Tampering until they are done playing for the season.

Sometimes you have to wait until the shoe drops .It hasnt yet. There are playoffs ongoing. Maybe we have someone in mind that is involved in them. That would be good for us .It implies that they may be pretty good but contacting them could be interpreted as tampering.

Personally I hope we take our time.

If Joseph is going to run a 3/4 ala Wade Phillips, how is that going work for a 4/3 DT like Suh?

Suh will flourish as a 3-4 DE. This talk of Suh being a 3-technique only is absurd.

its so embarrassing to read this bull**** when the truth is that Vic Fangio is still under contract and it would be tampering to do so....learn the facts before you start *****ing, because it could make you look...well a little smarter....

You guys realize that Vance doesn't choose the players or the scheme...he just coaches them up. The Bengals lost control, but its because they have generally been a team with a few "thug" types. No-one is going to reign that in, you take the skill and accept the attitude in that situation.

To blame that on him is insane. I know nothing about the guy, he may be a giant dog turd, but it isnt his fault Marvin Lewis is a ****ty coach who cant control his team.

Yeah because all teams follow the rules right? Every offseason there is tampering, hell even with Suh last year, which all amounted to nothing. And The fine? Chump change to the organization, Jets got fined 100K for Revis.
But seems a lot of logic here is strictly optimistic and by the books, do the Pats play fair?

That's exactly why this team has to be careful because they pretty much almost got nailed over the Suh bit. Any complaint by the Bears cause it comes out they talked to Fangio before he opts out and it's draft picks that will be the cost. There are 3 forfeited draft picks in this years draft alone for various things. This team needs all it's draft picks especially if we end up with Joseph or Fangio and start switching to a 3-4.

Yeah I agree with that. I'm more just voicing my thought on why mix and match chemistry amongst coaches, merely suggesting Fangio, not go and get him right away.
we essentially already tampered with Joseph, so I don't understand the negative comments toward my Fangio comment when we are already in the wrong to begin with.

Well, if we do go 3-4, maybe Dion Jordan can finally start his career.

As for the Bungles, holy hell what an intense finish. That game was dark and brutal. Everybody wearing orange was losing their minds.
