We tried that in 2005 and 2008 and it didn't end up working out.

Kind of the same thing when he had Saban. He wanted Brees, he got Culpepper.

Shannahan wanted Tannehill, he got Griffin III.

Is it any wonder neither coach succeeded?

The call to turn RG3 into a pocket passer ruined him, and that call was made by people above him.

Shanahan did not want to do that and thought it was a bad idea.

Shanahan heaped praise on Cousins as well. Wasn't Cousins a a bone/consolation prize for Shanahan because they heaped RG3 on him?

Shanahan interests me, the guy was given a raw deal in washington and it seemed what he wanted was the correct call in the end, the guy makes 1000 yard rushers. I would be cautiously optimistic with Shanahan.

He's only been out for 2 seasons, but I don't know how he and the "Baum" will coexist together.

I would be cautiously optimistic. Shanny has had some time to rest and recharge, but has not been gone so long the game has passed him by. I'd feel good about how the offense would do, but we'd need a strong DC as that seemed to be an issue for the last half of his time in Denver. I'd like to see Campbell kept on as an assistant coach too, if possible, so the guy could watch and learn before getting another chance as a head coach in a few years.

I'm just tired of seeing guys new to being a head coach and learning/failing to learn while the Phins stumble to another 7-9 or 8-8 season. Bring in a veteran NFL coach and let's get back to the playoffs!

Oh, one other thing. Shanny has a winning record versus Belicheat and was famously paranoid about getting spied on at Foxboro. That attitude could only help him in the AFC East.

Yes, Yes, yes. This is the guy that helped develop QB Steve Young and maximized John Elway's potential. He will help Tannehill and fix our OL/offense while we build our defense around young fresh new players.

    This is it.
