I think Tannehill is a good QB. He has his flaws, but I don't think you will find anyone with more toughness than him. Peeing blood before a meaningless game and still goes out and busts his tail and almost caps off a comeback win if not for a sorry OL. I have a lot of respect and admiration for that type of toughness. It is a wonder his stats are as good as they are as sorry of a team as he has around him. It might be a good idea for him to sit to avoid worsening his injuries.

Given the injuries I would sit him down next week and let Matt Moore take on the Patriots in a game that's abut nothing more than pride. Good for both of them, Moore gets some action and Tannehill gets some well deserved and needed time off.

I would say Moore and maybe some Thomas. I would think that Moore wants to get in the action and you still have to put on a show for the fans.

Better chance than Thomas, who's liable to lay a big egg.

tannehill on being hit so much

"Well, I don't like it," said Tannehill, who left Sun Life Stadium with his entire left leg wrapped. "I don't like getting hit. That's where we're at right now. We'll have to find a way to protect and get the ball out. "

    Well away from here
IIRC head to head matchups while relevant in playoff seeding etc., are irrelevant in draft seeding.

He definitely deserves praise for being able to take these hits and keep playing.

I was going by GBN as to standings before the game

    http://gbnreport.com/2016-weekly-first-round-selection-order/

and guessing that we would be at #7 after the loss, but this site shows up currently at #6

    http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000551301/article/2016-nfl-draft-order-and-needs-for-every-team

I was focusing on opponent W/L percentages and assuming the the NFL.com site is factoring in W/L percentages of this week's opponents.

If it is thought about, Adrian Peterson sure seems to have helped Christian Ponder and Teddy Bridgewater out a bit..

I like Miller and Ajayi, but our discarded Mike Gillislee ran today for almost 100 yards, a 50 yard TD and over 10 yards per carry. We have/had pretty good running backs, not like AP, but I think that the problem is the OL, plain and simple. If it was straight, Miller and Ajayi could bang out some yards, balance out the offense and take some pressure of of Tannehill. And keep him healthy.

Do you trust Ross to do that? I agree it's the right decision but because it's the right thing to do doesn't mean Ross will do it.

It's absolutely criminal that the dude straight kicked Tannehill in front of the ref, and there was no call. Seemed like he was going for the knee.

One of my working theories is the Rb position is devalued in favor of putting the majority of the load on the Qb, it is opportunity

Put it this way, Peterson's presence let Ponder become a "playoff Qb" Bridgewater benefitted as well, meanwhile b/c we are so pass heavy, and with a bad OL..somehow it makes more sense to put it on THill..a part of that is the D is just bad this yr, and ST is not exactly Elite by any stretch, ie "another possesion starts inside the 10 yd line"

I don't know, the Vikings also have a good defense this year, Stefon Diggs, etc. Todd Gurley was running like a maniac and the Rams still blew with no QB. AP is special, sounds more like an outlier theory. The Cowboys had a good yet not special RB in Darren McFadden but a pretty special running game behind that OL and they still sucked.

Sort of, then Weeden lands on a different team and has himself a nice day at the office.

D's performance fluctuates, a O's rarely does, usually a trend upwards or downwards, usually varying on the performance of the Qb..my suggestion is more if Rb is added, the trend can move into a team's favor. One of the issues Dallas is having is putrid Qb play, look at the NYJ, Fitzy is hardly a franchise Qb yet they win.

Not a call to a return to WannyBall, rather realizing a good running game is like a good fastball in MLB..everything works off of that fastball. ATM, imo, Miller is kinda riding the fact we are so pass heavy it meant D's were not focused on stopping him..b/c the OL is primarily a pass blocking unit

the vikings have put up 30+ points in a game where their qb is 15/25 168 yards 1td.

Weeden had a nice day with Alfred Blue and Chris Polk as his running back?

That would go against your argument if you want to bring up today for Weeden.

Not this time of yr, to me, in the games that do not impact playoff stuff, they really do not account for very much.

suspect this is why Walden was going out on THill, he wants that film

Sort of what I had in mind, to me the "next' is JJ's cowboy teams, balanced attack, good, deep Defense

People can say whatever they want about Weeden, but he has one of the best arms I've ever seen. Maybe he just needs some time, which is problematic because of his age, but Weeden is talented

Tannehill is going to be the new name for a QB being ruined for taking a beating. The new "Carr".

wow,it's almost like some of this have been tooting this horn for years now. Not that he doesn't have issues, but you can't overly criticize him with the terrible Oline we have. the ignoring of the line is a fireable offense IMO. To invest that much in a QB and ignore the line was criminal.

    Ignore the OL?

We have poured a ton of resources into our OL. We just have spent those resources terribly.

It was ignored this offseason. It was ignored by not having a replacement ready for Albert, who everyone knew wouldn't stay healthy. We have thrown money and picks at ****ty players.

    LMAO

    You just don't stop.

You're right, though, saying that the offense line is a huge problem is simply "making excuses."

These aren't excuses. These are the problems that have existed since day one. Tannehill has been saddled with these issues since he was drafted.

Really? I'd saying not signing Mathis, and rolling with what we had, qualifies as ignoring the problem.
