We can still do it. We're sitting at 5-8 with three games to go. Can we go 8-8 for three straight years?

@Chargers - Gonna be tough going on a West Coast trip on a short week. But the Chargers are 3-10. They're bad. WIN
COLTS - Will Andrew Luck come back? Will Hasslebeck be alive? We might be facing their 3rd string QB in Miami. WIN
PATS - The Pats will likely rest their starters. Our guys will be fired up for Man Campbell's final game of the season. They will play for his job. They will be impassioned. They will play through the whistle. They will leave it all on the field! WIN!!!

8-8 is within reach!!! What do you think?

I think I'd rather have higher draft picks for a while and trade down for depth and higher chances of success.

I never root against the Dolphins, but if they weren't to win out and we got a better draft pick out of the deal, I wouldn't stay awake at night about it.

I'd prefer lose out at this point, to be honest. If you're not going to the playoffs, might as well play for the next season and hope for a higher draft pick. I didn't used to think this way at all. But we need an injection of talent. If that comes by way of a top 5-10 pick or by way of trading down (hopefully not) to acquire more picks, so be it. We have a lot of holes on this team and NO depth worth speaking of.

I can't ever hope my beloved Dolphins ever lose but it kinda feels like we have been in the off season for several weeks now.

Yeah the way I see it, the goal of a franchise is to win a SB (as many of them), not to win as many games as possible. So if you're out of playoff contention, do what you can to win a SB as soon as possible, and if that means losing some games so be it.

Dream scenario- We lose out and Tannehill shows the same escapeability and big play ability that he showed last night.

We already know our defense is trash.. We don't know if Tannehill is the long term answer so that is the only thing I'm worried about.

Some fans root for teams where it's Super Bowl or bust. Miami fans root for please bust so we get better draft position.

Well we're not even getting to the playoffs, so.... what's better, higher or lower draft picks?

8-8 will put the Dolphins in the middle of next years draft. The Dolphins need an impact player in the first round of the 2016 draft and it isn't likely that impact player will be around in the middle of the first round.

While it isn't in me to root against the Dolphins in any game they play because in my heart I want them to win every game. Yet my head tells me that we need at least a top ten pick and probably a top 7-8 pick to get that impact player.

So so while I won't root for them to lose. Losing 2 or 3 of their last games will probably be the best thing that can happen to this team over the long run.

Meh, it's a win win scenario win or lose. If we win great, but probably better to lose.

I just hope we showcase players who deserve it while starting the young ones. Start with Lippet. Get Cedric Thompson in there as well. I wanna see if they're wastes of space or not.

And for the love of God, replace Dallas Thomas with Jamil Douglas, anybody.

You guys know that who you root for has no determinative value, right?

It doesn't matter what you root for. It doesn't effect the game. So root for whatever and do it guilt-free.

Let me remind everyone once again....with five wins we are currently picking in the high teens. There's about eight elite teams this season and everyone else sucks. We won't be picking in the top 10 at 5-11 or 8-8. So there's very little logic rooting against your favorite team in December, it might change our draft selection by 3-5 places at most. Because if you're rooting against the Dolphins, you also have to root for about 15 other crap teams to all go on win streaks.

It's more probable that Santa Claus will start as our QB1 against New England...so you may as well just root for your woefully average Fins like you always do.

I changed my mind I want to go 5-11. I don't trust Tannebaum he's gonna need that high pick.

Tannenbaum drafted Darrelle Revis at 14. You can find game changers in the middle range as well. Odell Beckham was drafted 12th.

Go Dolphins. I hope we win the the last three, but losses won't make me lose sleep either.

Now that we're officially out of the playoffs, I'd start this kid at qb if I thought it would benefit us long term...

I vote for them winning out, it is not like the team actually does good with 1st round picks. Who was the last good one that worked out well? Pouncy???

Sadly, all the teams with worse records are also losing (except SD today) so we're not gaining in draft position. Nevertheless, picking top 10 should land us a very good LB or CB so at the very least we better pick in the single digits.

The Dolphins ended up having the easiest schedule in the NFL as of now based on SOS. And we get 5-11 or 6-10. Hooray! hopefully they just go 5-11 and break the 7-9 cycle, and blow up the organization finally.
