I still don't buy the Quincy Carter work out being anymore than a favor to get his name back into NFL circles and as a look for an emergency option if any QB goes down in season.

You could write an article like this every time a team brings anyone in and claim it's a knock against a team's players at that position.

    It's simply silly.

stop jumping on 124 guys. if a dolphin fan posted that same link, no one bashes the dolphin fan.

yes, so its a blog, just like 75% of the rest of the linked posts on the main page. it's meant to inspire/start a discussion, not argue to its credibility.

now, on to the article/blog.... i think it was really just to see if he had anything after "turning the corner", i don't honestly think he has a chance.

My bad, just trying to make a funny. I did read the article and who knows why he was brought in. I don't think he will play for the PHINS but I do hope he is able to stay clean and life a healthy life.

I thought the blog was pointless to be honest with you and this isn't a bash on 124 for posting it. The guy just stated his thoughts on the tryout.

I concur. Despite 124 being Jets fan, he's one of the few good rival fans.

Its no secret Melborune Phin has never been a fan of mine, but, can you blame him? I mean, he is a Magic fan. The Magic don't have any rivals because they arn't good enough for rivals, so he doesn't get the whole rival fan posting on another teams message board deal. :wink2:

As for the article, I posted it for responses and discussion because this board has some of the best, in depth discussion I've seen. I for one am a Quincy Carter fan and do not agree with the writers opinion.

Football aside, I hope Quincy Carter gets his life turned around. Very few EVER make it in the NFL. He did. Now if he can even overcome even bigger odds, who knows? But whether or not hes ever on another roster or ever takes another snap in an NFL game, I hope that he is able to tame the demons that have haunted him and find peace in his life.

QC, IMO, puts football in perspective.

Didn't Rosenhaus say that they only gave him a workout as a favor?

He is right more often than he's wrong on these things...

if wilford is going to continue with is disappearing act, we need glenn.

    ...and that's sad.

Although Glenn could bring veteran presence the WR corps, and can produce if healthy, I would not want him here at the expense of Bess or Foster.

I think Bess stays despite of the possible Glenn acquisition. We could see someone like Camarillo gone though which would kind of make me sad because he is one of our better route runners and has good hands. I'm really torn on Glenn possibly being here. I like that he brings the veteran leadership and can be a mentor but he could take away playing time from our young guys. I don't know anymore.

I tend to agree with the article, Carter if we sign him is a cry for help.

Now, come labor day when Chris Simms is cut, I can see us making a claim on the wavier wire.

Yea bro I agree. I want him to come and give our guys some tips and he makes our reciving core more of a threat. But I would rather have our younger guys get playing time. It would be good for the team and obviously the younger players to get the playing time rether then giving it to a vetern.

while i agree with you, i more meant from the point that, The Glenn story broke a week or so before the Quincy story. Still no Glenn here. At this rate, Quincy won't show up here until December! so im not gonna sweat it. it'll probably never go through anyway.

and we certainly dont have a crisis on hour hands. we have 3 young, strong armed guys. its not like we only have a noodle arm and a guy entering his 4th season as a rookie :tongue2:

Regarding Carter, I believe he was brought in as a motivational tactic, nothing less, nothing more. If he makes the team at QB I'll be shocked.

Ginn is going to see playing time, whether he's ready or not. Bess could use a season on the bench to adjust to the game. He's not ready yet. Welker, the guy he's most compared to, spent time on the bench and on the practice squad before starting for us. Foster is great because he can simulate a number of different players for us as a member of the practice squad, but Hennig has his work cut out for him to translate his skills over to the pro game. Given Wilford's apparent struggles, it wouldn't be a bad idea (at least at the start of the season) to start Glenn and Hagen, with Ginn moving to his natural position, the slot.

Yeah man lets not act like Jet.....ummmm errrrrr Bills fans here.

    J/K

I think if we could have maybe picked him up before he went on a 4 year vacation then something good maybe could have happened. But then again him and Ricky on the same team....we would have heard every Cheech and Chong joke anyone could come up with.

I agree bro it would not hurt bring in Terry Glenn because he would be a threat, bring experence, and he would help our younger widerecivers. But I just think if we start our younger player it would help us further down the line. I also think if we bring in Terry Glenn he just takes up a roster spot for one of our younger talents like Davon Bess, Foster, John Dunlap, or Camarilo.
Plus if we bring in Terry Glenn he would take up a roster spot and who knows he could get hurt agian. He did not play at all last year. ( except for two games. I think)

I wouldn't be surprised if it took another week to finally bring in Glenn. He still has to pass a physical and they still want to work him out. The only problem I have with this taking as long as it is, is that there's another team interested (Jaguars) in his services and could pick him up.

I did not know that bro thanks for the infomation. I just think even if it takes another week he will still come to Miami. Just because I think he will want to come be under Bill Parcells and Tony Sparano agian. Plus he would help our qb's. Especialy sense he is an experenced wide reciver.

We're facing a WR crunch with our without Glenn being brought in. Camarillo, Bess, Kircus, Foster, Lymon, and Dunlap are all competing for 1-2 spots. My money's on Camarillo and Bess, with the rest of the guys likely making it to the practice squad.

I'd love to see Glenn here. I think he'd help our receivers and QBs. but i wouldnt lose sleep if we lost out on him.

I know bro that is why I am leaning toward wanting Terry Glenn here. I think it will be Davon Bess and John Dunlap. With the rest making the pratice squad.

Bess has had a great camp and should remain whether we bring in Glenn or not. But what has Foster done to warrant a roster spot over a proven NFL veteran?

It usually takes even very good receivers more than one year to really produce in the NFL.

We want to win that first game, not just give rookies experience for next year.

I think Glenn's knee is the only reason that he hasn't been signed so far. His knee might be too messed up....

i don't know why people are assuming that if we brought in glenn, it would be at the cost of losing foster or bess. If Glenn replaces a spot held by Kircus, Lymon, or Dunlap i wouldn't lose sleep.

    i agree 100%
