Because you're always selective about what affects QBs. I'm making it simpler. Other teams are worse than us but their QBs are better. Why is that? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's where the concept of correlation comes in. W/L ratio tends to go up the better the QB is (either based on most people's subjective rankings, or based on some stats like Y/A or passer rating). It doesn't mean it always does that for every QB.
That would be an outlier. See, other QBs like Rivers that have off seasons have proven themselves. Tannehill hasn't proved anything. He's still in the "potential" stage. He's still in the "his ceiling is higher" stage. I'm saying he's shown what kind of QB he is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Back at you since it only appears that list is important to you...create that list yourself and also include once those conditions were removed that very QB went on to be a franchise type QB. Now that would give some credence to Tannehill lovers point of view.
I don't know, I don't follow them. Probably everything if they're tied for the worst record in the NFL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As if that wasn't completely obvious, lol, you should have added a couple derps after your comment, you know how they love to do that.
I missed my chance like I did with my bold prediction for tomorrow night [emoji20] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Were you also being sarcastic about Rivers? If not, which I assumed you weren't, how would I know you were being sarcastic about Tannehill?
Zero proof? You mean like how Fin D asks us for the proof of which team has worse "this, this and that"? They're the worst teams in the league. You find the proof and rub it in my face. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's ridiculous. Here's Fin D: "Find me one QB that has been screwed with a ****ty *insert AdamC13 rant*" Uh, okay, so I have to find the proof instead of him providing the statistics to compare NFL teams this season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I said something along the lines of "idk, they're ranked the worst teams, probably everything." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm not being selective at all. I'm listing the major issues outside of Tannehill's control. You can isolate whatever the **** you think Tannehill does himself. I don't care. The problem is, most (not all) of what you perceive as a problem he is responsible for can be linked back to the 4 issues I pointed out, so can't really have a fair evaluation until these things are corrected. There is evidence that when the line plays at an aggregate average level, Tannehill plays in the Top 5-10 range.....because it happened. There is evidence that when Wilson's oline is tweaked his QB rating jumps up by 40 points. Why wouldn't Tannehill's jump by 20 or 30? But no, you're gonna turn all of that logical and evidence based stuff into something else entirely and then make claims of your own that are neither based in fact nor evidence and act as if I'm in denial.
qbs affect wins and losses, great wins get more wins bad ones get more losses..yall need to change your script, simply saying is very silly.
to answer the original posters question.. ''Our athletic QB is also last in the league with a run EPA of -4.4. Peyton Manning is a better runner than Tannehill by adding exactly 0 to the team. Tannehill actively hurts the team when he runs. In total EPA, factoring in passing, running, sacks, and penalties, Tannehill is 31st in the league ahead of Nick Foles.'' courtesy of Caribfan.
He looks very wooden to me to be considered athletic. He seemed to run the ball (when he ran it) much better than this year. It seems to me that someone needs to punch him in the mouth before his motor gets going. Someone needs to make him angry early in the game.
That's only true if the QB has a decent team around him. Yes, a great QB could probably win a few more games with a garbage team than a bad QB could win with a garbage team. But, generally speaking, the QBs with the most wins aren't doing it with absolute trash around them. Of course, you have irregularities, like the Patriots, with HoF HC and HoF QB who can still win with pretty severe issues.
I wouldn't characterize Tannehill's surrounding cast as "absolute trash". There's a lot of talent on this team (and lots of holes). People just aren't playing up to their potential as a team, and that's more on the coaches I think than anyone else. But really good QB's elevate the play of their surrounding cast, and that's not something you'd ascribe to Tannehill.
Yes, because a garbage team could still have you going 3-10 like the Chargers this year. You're positive that no other QB could have won 3 games thus far with that team? I mean, they might not, but they might.
Hope everyone is prepared for when the phins dump RT17 and he gets snagged by a divisional team with a competent OL and he destroys us for years. It happens every time.
I just have this nightmare that we dump him after next season, the pats swoop in and sign him. He sits behind brady for a season or two and then spanks us for the next decade. I call it the Welker Theory.
I would love for a divisional team to pick up and play Tannehill. Pretty sure a divisional opponent has never picked up a released Dolphin QB and then we are destroyed even once, let alone years to come. Here is the entire list of Dolphin starters not currently on the roster: Henne, Pennington, Thigpen, Lemon, Green, Beck, Culpepper, Rosenfels, Brian Griese, Lucas, Fiedler, Huard, Marino, Erickson, Kosar, Mitchell, DeBerg, Mackey, Woodley, Strock, Morrall, Bob Griese, Mira, Norton, Stofa, Wilson, Wood, Cordoves.
Yes lets use every QB we have ever had regardless of ability or ceiling. Good job. You can argue before Ryan, the best QB we have had since Marino, we picked up from a divisional opponent. Statistically RT17 is the best QB this franchise has seen since Marino. He will get picked up, and knowing how the AFCE works it will be by one of those three teams.
I don't lose a second of sleep thinking anything like that about Tannehill, I think you will be ok on this one
Your statement was "Hope everyone is prepared for when the phins dump RT17 and he gets snagged by a divisional team with a competent OL and he destroys us for years. It happens every time."...So dramatic How about picking out just ONE QB that was released by Miami, a divisional opponent picked him up and it came back to haunt Miami even ONE game, let alone years?
I was more talking about when we dump decent players, not just QB's. Hence the reference to Wes Welker.
