At corner, yes. If we're going to spend money in UFA, that's where it needs to be. We badly missed the boat at OG this past offseaon, where there were numerous options better than what is slated to be out there next spring. Not excited about the current options at LB, but other players will be cut and will be out there.

Remember that by the time you hit free agency 80% of the guys you think of as being really good players that you'd like to add, will not be free agents. That's the way it works. If the player is so obviously good that we can recognize his value, so can the team that currently owns his rights, and they'll likely re-sign him for the same reason you want to acquire him.

    Why'd you leave off TE?

Cameron has been a total waste of space and it didn't even take a concussion.

While Cameron has been *** juice, that position is NOT a priority, nor is it the cause of why we suck. I just don't see us pursuing a tight end over linebacker, cornerback, guard, and safety.

Him dropping and/or not catching passes isn't helping our offense.

I'd say it's def a priority and if we can dump him for somebody better then by all means.

It's hard to really say much about free agents on either side of the ball without knowing the schemes you're going to be running.

Jordan Cameron counts $9m against the cap next year- you can't really let sleeping dogs lie on that one.

The best teams in the NFL have got there by drafting quality players and retaining them once their initial contract expires. They don't chase after big name free agents unless they are trying to add a piece or two in an attempt to win the SB.

The Dolphins are far from being a SB contender. They need to concentrate on drafting players who can come in an be an asset from day one. They have spent as much or more than any team in the NFL in free agency in recent years and they still haven't had a single winning season to show for it.

They are about to start another rebuilding job which will take at least 3-4 years. No decent free agent would want to come to Miami knowing that this team is several years away from being a legitimate contender. The only reason they might come is because of the money and except for Grimes prior to this year, those high priced free agents who took Ross's money have failed to pan out recently.

I say concentrate on the draft and the undrafted college players and stay away from free agency. There will be plenty of time to add veteran free agents in a few years if this team finally starts looking like a legitimate playoff contender.

There's a chance Jordan Cameron will be cut....Ladarius Green could be a potential replacement if he hits the market.

    Free agents I'm interested in:

    Chris Ivory
    Ladarius Green
    Kelechi Osemele
    Damon Harrison
Muhammad Wilkerson (will probably be out of our price range)
    Eric Berry
Josh Norman (cut Grimes, give Norman that money)
    Patrick Robinson

Chris Ivory would be a hell of a pickup, love how he runs the rock.

There's nothing wrong with adding a piece here or there through free agency. Just cant make it a habit of signing the top free agent every offseason as we ha've recently.

Cut: Wake, Grimes, Cameron, Earl Mitchell, Kelvin Shepphard. Let OV and Rishard Matthews walk.

Id like to make a run at: Janoris Jenkins, Bruce Irvin, Aldon Smith, Terrance Knighton, Sean Smith.

If we could sign Jenkins and Aldon Smith on a low risk incentive laden deal, I would be thrilled. Or if we can get pot roast and get a rotation of him and Phillips to play along Suh, i think that would go a long way in our effort to stop the run. Now all we have to do is draft a stud at Mike and a corner or two and the defense is starting to look better.

i agree 100% with jw3102. good teams build through the draft. i know no one likes the rebuilding term, but we have been trying to fix this team with big free agents the last few years and end up in the same spot every year. average at best. time to blow this up. trade old guys for picks. keep and play the young guys.. we are a good 5 yrs away from being relevant again. i can live with rebuilding as long as we are progressing

Yeah, totally agree on building through the draft. Janoris Jenkins is the number one guy I want though in free agency. Like I said, i'm all about the draft, but we can't plug every hole we have in just one draft. I doubt we're going to tank games next year either. At least a few free agents have to be considered no? A good draft, a Janoris Jenkins, Aldon Smith, and some veteran O lineman for example would be huge in my opinion. I personally don't want to sit through a four year rebuild. Quick turnarounds are quite common in the NFL. This isn't the NBA.

Actually quick turnarounds are not that common in the NFL. Except for the Patriots who have been consistently good for well over a decade, others teams have gone through several years of rebuilding before they actually become a legitimate playoff contender.

Over half the teams in the league have been trying to rebuild for a number of years in an attempt to become relevant. The fact there are so many mediocre and bad teams at this time clearly shows that rebuilding and fielding a quality football from one year to the next is far more difficult than is perceived.

Other than the 2008 season, when the Dolphins had everything work in their favor during the regular season, including a season ending injury to Tom Brady in the Patriots first regular season game that year. The Dolphins have basically been in a rebuilding mode for over a decade with no success.

I think any legitimate rebuilding job takes at least 3-4 years of excellent drafting and obtaining a quality QB. This allows a team to compete for the SB over a number of years instead of just trying to build through free agency in an attempt to possibility make one attempt at going as far as possible in the playoffs in a given year.

For once, I want us to not make a big splash this offseason. I'd like to find a quality OG but doesn't need to be a block buster OG, just someone that can actually do their job unlike Thomas. I think you let Douglas and Turner battle out for the other spot. Hopefully one of them can develop and earn that starting spot. We probably need to look at a LB and DB. Once again, a solid starter instead of the big splash. If we can even take 3 spots and increase the production from next to dead last to middle of the pack, this team will be much better.

Dolphins convert to a base 3-4 and sign free agent Vincent Rey and draft Vernon Hargreaves lll and Myles Jack. Then trade for Desmond Bryant to play 5-tech and pick up Pot Roast for a 0-tech. Fede a good versatile backup and possible 6-tech, Wake needs to become a situational pass rusher and no longer play the majority of snaps. Dolphins need a miracle rising star or two at OLB, Jack and Rey would be inside. Cowser? Kaufusi?

Cut Grimes and McCain and sign Amukamara if he comes available unless they have seen special things from Lippett and they are just giving him time to adjust the NFL CB position.

Bring back Dion Jordan and use him as a Joker/coverage LB/ST's. He isn't an NFL caliber pass rusher but he might be as useful as Manny Lawson some day.

Finding an elite brilliant cover FS is paramount. Reshad Jones needs room to roam. Jones should get a fat extension. Aikens should be a forgotten bad memory.

Brett Ellison for a buck and a half and we get the best blocking TE on the market.

First of all Wake was basically being used as a situational rusher before he was injured. He wasn't playing nearly as much in the base defense as he had in previous years.

I don't see Jordan ever being a member of the Dolphins again. Rumor was that they were going to trade him to the Eagles prior to him getting caught using drugs again. He has no desire to play football and the Dolphins should just trade him for a 7th round draft pick if any other team is gullible enough to trade for him. If not, just cut him.

I can't imagine the next head coach will want a cancer like Jordan on this team next year.

I thought Suh was strictly a 4-3 DT? Is converting to a 3-4 defense possible with him here? From what people were saying, that is the ONLY defense he'll play in. I'm sure i'm way off on that right?

Depends on how he would be used. He definitely wouldn't be asked to sit back and anchor the DL while the LB's did all the penetrating. As long as we don't have another idiot DC.
