Not to mention, why would they trade for another journeyman QB, when they can pick him up as a UFA after the season if they didn't like Fitzy anymore?
I like Moore!! Wasn't he the last QB to lead us to an actual winning record?? and with no weapons like todays
Seriously, not to mention we'd be pairing him up with Brandon Marshall again, that wouldn't bode well for us.
Sounds like much ado about nothing. But if he WAS on the trade block, a phone call to the San Francisco 49ers, would be a top priority. Their horrible head coach already stated that they are evaluating the QB situation as their horrible starter, Colin Kaepernick, has been...horrible. Their back up? The even more horrible Blaine Gabbert. They may be willing to part with a draft pick for a journeymen QB who can play the Ryan Fitzpatrick role next year as they try to develop a younger QB behind him. Or he is getting a nose job.
Yes he was. But in the Philbin/Tannehill era, we decide to treat Matt Moore like he was Voldemort from the Harry Potter series...he who must never be named. So we pretend that his 6-3 starting record never happened....especially the part where he went 6-2 to close out the year right before Philbin and Tannehill arrived. Because if we admit that openly and actually think about it for three seconds, the universe will cease to exist. Also, Campbell joked that since Matt was such a pretty boy, he opted for plastic surgery to get his nose back perfect. Moore had surgery on his broken nose Monday morning and he's sitting out for precautionary measures. They expect him to be back in limited practice by Wednesday and suit up for the game on Sunday. Besides, when do teams EVER trade their only backup quarterback? This rumor is pure foolishness on many different levels.
Yeah Welker was seemingly the only guy on offense doing anything during his time here. He didn't stink, we just had a horrible QB(s) and yet he still managed to find a way to make plays.
Seriously? http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WelkWe00.htm I mean, I'm sorry he didn't completely light it up with Joey Harrington and Cleo Lemon throwing it to him, but stunk? Never thought I'd hear that.
Interesting fact: In 2011 the Dolphins didn't beat a single team that would end the season with a winning record, with or without Matt Moore as quarterback. Anyhow, I liked Matt Moore. He was serviceable. But he hasn't looked good in about two seasons in the preseason. And there's something else I can't figure out, if he was so good, why didn't he get a starting gig two years ago when he became a free agent?
Moore was approached by multiple teams but ultimately, he stayed in Miami for two reasons- 1) His wife said, "You dumbass...you sit on the safety of the bench and make millions in beautiful Miami...I'll kill you myself if you even consider a trade." 2) The teams that contacted him were more stable at QB1 than Miami was. Make no mistake though, he was widely regarded as the best backup QB on the market and several teams did give him a look. He stayed to make his wife happy though, and the Fins gave him a bump in pay to stick around. Happy wife, happy life.
He's the best back up in the league, trading him mid season would be too stupid even for this team. Did Armandy think this up?
you do realize that he never had a qb worth a ****, you do also realize that Bill Belichick who likes to horde picks came to us with a second round draft pick.
You do realize that Welker did basically the same thing, on average, with New England as he did with us? The only difference was, Brady threw it to him 100+ times a season, and was better at playing in the redzone.
I asked why he didn't get a starting gig. You tell me he was a good backup. I guess we don't disagree.
Players don't really get to ok trades or not. He'd have little choice if the team traded him, his wife less so.
