When we know our season is over do you root for another team? I am watching the Steelers and Bengals game now and am rooting for the Steelers. I am a Dolphins fan first but if the Phins suck like they have been doing for the past 20 years then I root for other teams like the Steelers or Ravens or Packers. Never will I root for Cowboys or Patriots or Niners.
Wow I missed something, I though the Phins play 16 games each season, I didnt realize out season was only 7 games long, so you got me there. But do I route for any other teams ? Well my favorite team is the Dolphins and my second favorite is ANY team playing the Patriots, only time that might not be true is when the Pats play the jets.
Heck yeah. I try to be a Panthers fan in the NFC since I moved to the Carolinas. I probably wouldn't if they were an AFC team but both them and the Falcons are teams I don't mind watching on occasion since they are "local." To anyone who says you can't enjoy watching any team other than Miami...pound sand.
there's a lot of good football teams I like to follow.. Packers, Panthers, and Bengals are usually the other teams I follow outside of Dolphins.
Nope. I have been a Dolphin fan since 1966 and the other teams in the league are irrelevant to me. I don't play fantasy football and while I will watch another game if I am home and have nothing better to do. For me, it is the Dolphins and the rest of the teams just don't matter to me
I follow the players on fantasy teams but I can really only sit and watch the Phins. Ill keep football on in the background...but like today, I get antsy trying to watch other games.
Packers/Bengals and teams to beat those teams that are undefeated. And who ever plays the patriots/jets/bills
Unless I'm unable to watch the game because I'm traveling or whatnot, I watch every second of every Miami game, no matter how bad the season is going. I would rather watch the Fins if they were 3-12 playing the 14-1 Patriots in Week 17, if it were to come to that, than watch absolutely any other game, or really anything else period that may be happening in the world.
I usually find that I like a certain player on the team and can root for that team. Being in the Tampa area, I sometimes root for the Bucs. Ironically, I like Tyrod Taylor but I will always root against the Bills when facing the Dolphins. And by default, I always root against the Patriots... I would rather hug a T - Rex than see them win another Super Bowl.
I root for the Panthers since they're currently my "home team". But I'm definitely not a Panthers fan; we only go to their games when they're playing the Dolphins. Other than that, I root for Manning and the Broncos due to the way Indy dissed the greatest quarterback of all time.
with the steelers losing today were will have a chance to control our own destiny, must win against the bills.
If we can manage to win the next two, then we finish with 5/7 at home, and the majority of them against teams that look worse now than I expected them to. Easy wins? Hell no. But also not games where I expect the Fins to get their rear ends handed to them either.
That's not relevant. I've started a single thread introducing myself. I'm not the one that insulted somebody else's ability to make good threads. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I actually root for New England a fair amount of the time, they are fun to watch if ou do it objectively.
Same, Fin O. My dad and his buddy are from Boston. Rooted for the Pats in every Super Bowl out of respect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My 2nd team is the Steelers since my brother is a Steelers fan, so if they're on when the Fins are not on I'll watch them, and I always root for the AFC in the SB, with the exception of the Pats when they were undefeated, but every other year it's AFC, but I've always wondered if I could root for the steJ in a SB, happily I haven't had to worry about it.
Um honestly I root for the teams playing undefeated teams to win. Only the Dolphins are allowed to be the only undefeated Superbowl champs. Other than that I don't care once there are no longer any undefeated teams left.
Yeah. Due to years of stress and strain with the Dolphins, I've applied for asylum by the Baltimore Ravens. I have to pass the citizenship test though, which I'm a little shaky at.
I rooted against them vs St Louis, Philly, Seattle....but not against the Giants, especially with the 17-0 record at the time. And I liked Carolina that year they lost. I can appreciate watching greatness even if I have every reason to dislike the player, like the fact they went to Michigan and constantly kick my pro teams ***.
Carolina. 6-0! Unfortunately my second team in the pros means about billion times less to me than my first pro team.
Shocked. Absolutely shocked how many people here support the Pats afterwards. Says a lot. I don't root for any other teams. When the playoffs start, if we aren't in them, then I typically pick a team I want to see win the Super Bowl, I'll typically only pull for them since I'll probably have money involved. Either way, if the phins are out. I don't care. I'll watch other games, just to watch and enjoy a good quality game of football. I don't change allegiances though, I don't root for anyone else.
Good for you. Some of us have friends and family we love and support and hope they're happy if we're not. It's not changing allegiances. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i don“t see any chance we walk into Orchard Park in November and beat Buffalo, they come of a bye week, probably get Tyrod Taylor back and are also fighting for their playoff lives
Would NEVER root for ANY AFC East team UNLESS a win from them would better our playoff chances... When the fins are out of it I root for the Giants because almost all of my buddies are Giants fans. But to be completely honest there's no passion behind it.
My dad and my brother are huge Steeler fans, so I root for them all the time. Usually they're still in when Miami season is over lol. Also, anyone playing against our AFC:E teams. Oh and anyone playing against the Ravens and the Seahawks. The problem with a guy like me, who hates so many teams, is that there is a high likelihood that a team I hate will win the SB. Very toxic lol.
wait..there are other teams to root for? And the season doesn't end when the Dolphins stop playing......what in the wide, wide, world of sports is going on here
I will watch the Bengals and I've started taping the Seahawks games. I was hoping we would get Wilson and I wanted us to draft Early Thomas. But I watch every snap of the Dolphins games.
I have friends and family who I love and want to be happy. A few of them root for teams I hate. I wish them misery on gamedays.
Yeah but even once we're out of it and stand nothing to gain? Seems irrational to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It depends. My dad and older brother are Giants fans. I have nothing against the Giants so I'll root for them from time to time if the Dolphins aren't a factor. I have some friends that are Jets and Pats fans. Am I rooting for them? No chance in hell.
