Well we started down 0-2 in 86 after Doc and Darling had pitched....hopefully history repeats itself on that one. Bats gotta get going and gotta stop making mental mistakes in the field.

Yeah can't say I blame Cherington or the Yankees for trying. He's a hot name in the business and could be GM of another franchise tomorrow if he wanted. No need to be an AGM at this point in time.

The bigger news is Anthopoulos just quit his GM job with the Jays because they couldn't work out an extension.

Also because the jays hired Mark Shapiro over the summer for a front office role. Over under on Shapiro getting named GM? I'd say 48 hours...

Shapiro got hired as President of Baseball Ops no? If he stepped into the GM role he'd be taking a lesser job.

Also Dan Jennings was fired from the Marlins because Loria didn't like how Jennings played Ozuna against his orders. I hate to say the Marlins are a joke but they are until Loria decides to sell the team. Who the heck would want to work for him?

I think that was bushleague - but hey it's all fun and games till someone gets hit in the head with a 98 MPH fastball. If you're going to blatantly throw at someone, dont throw at their head.

It was nowhere near his head. It was high. It wasnt high over his head. If he (Escobar) is that concerned with it he shouldnt stand on top of the plate. The Royals also lead all of baseball in fines and benches cleared because they got mad at teams for doing the exact same thing they have done at times throughout the year.

Personally, Im old school. Im not saying to hit someone but you have to use the inside of the plate. If a guy is on top of the plate, yes throw it 98 at his shoulder and get him off the plate. It doesnt need to hit him...just back him up so you can pitch the way you want to. Yes it sucks when its done to my team but growing up a pitcher through my JR year, yeah I did it even at that level and lower. And it worked.

very near his head - and it was 98, bush league! I dont mind old school, bean him in the back, elbow, leg, hip, but dont throw at a guys head. To be honest he wasnt any closer to the plate than Yoenis Cespedes stands.

Sorry, that's high and tight, not at his head. Nothing bush league about it. And if Cespedes was knocking the royals staff around all series I'd totally expect them to brush him back too. I'm not saying to bean him but that ball would not have hit Escobar even if he didn't move at all.

Terry Collins is an Idiot....that i am completely sure of, now. How you gonna let the guy who a month ago wasnt going to pitch in the playoffs because he's over his innings limit, talk you into throwing in the 9th inning when he was already over 100 pitches. Then how do you let him stay in after the lead off walk......

The leadoff walk was when he had to be pulled. I can deal with giving him a chance to complete the game even though Harveys numbers severely dip after 100 pitches...gotta live and die with your ace in that spot imo.

Echoed Boik, congrats to those long suffering Royal fans. This series was very tough to witness as a Mets fan. I can't blame TC for letting Harv go one more, especially since Familia ends up blowing three in the damn series. I think that the Mets killed themselves more than the Royals won. The postseason appearance was unexpected, but damn, it hurt so much to go out this way. With Cam Wake's season ending injury and this series... one tough week in sports for me. Again, congrats KC.

Congrats to the Royals and their fans. Met fans have nothing to feel bad about, they were playing with house money all year. I do think Collins had a rough WS managing wise though, especially in Game 4.

Free Agency officially starts at 5 pm on Friday.

He just got a blown save in which he got routine ground balls from all 3 hitters he faced. To first, third and to pitcher.

Should of went to him to start the 9th.

You're crazy. Even Mariano Rivera once blew a G7 in the WS. Familia has a bright future and all 2 of the 3 were bull...the Gordon HR in G1 was legit but stuff like last night and game 4...I just can't pin that on him.

Oh the silly save/blown save stat.

Rivera blew 2 saves in back to back games against the Red Sox in the 2004 ALCS, the 2nd blown save he came into the 8th inning with runners on 1st and 3rd and 0 outs and gave up a sac fly to "blow" the save, of course he got the next two batters out to get out of the inning but fact remains and in the history books it goes down as a blown save.

The only game you can pin on Familia is Game 1 with the Gordon HR, like you said. The other two games, he came in with runners on base with 1 out or less. It's not like he had BH Kim, Trevor Hoffman or Feliz type melt downs. If he had a better defense behind him who knows what would have happened.

Apparently either he doesn't want it or there isn't one out there because he took a VP job at Columbia University. Yeah I read Ben, would have LOVED to have him and he has his family in NY to so there was a connection. It would have given the brass a nice Plan B if they decide to go another route from Cashman as well....
