Dammit, season is over? Wonder what I got for Christmas, be great if it's the GI Joe with the Kung Fu grip!
A long way from over. I've felt the way the league is this year 10-6 should be good enough to get a wild card, so before last night I felt like we had 3 to give and last nights game was one we were going to give. That leaves 2 more that we can drop and still have a solid shot at the playoffs. Heck, with as many teams that are under .500 right now 9-7 may get you in, so this is a long way from over.
We lost to the best team in the NFL on a short week AND on the road. Season is far from over. Loss of Wake hurts a lot, and hopefully James is ok, but we're not done yet.
We got beat by the best team in football, we're garbage from to to bottom, time to rebuild. How do you you people handle dissapointment in your real lives, just curl up in a ball and crumble?
All the *****ing about Tannehill. Its like Elite Qb's are laying all over the ground for the picking. If there is a viable upgrade out there tell me where, otherwise shut the hell up.
It's all about the steJ and the Steelers though, forget everyone else, those are the 2 wild card teams at this point and they will both get double digit wins, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the Steelers go on a roll with Ben back now, and even challenge the Bengals for the div, the Steelers D is much improved and they are LOADED on offense. As I mentioned in another thread, it may actually take 11 or 12 wins to get a playoff spot in the AFC, and lets face it, to get to 10-6 we'd have to go 7-2 the rest of the way, even with Wake that wasn't going to happen.
Here's what my draft board would look like R1: Linebacker R2: Guard R3: Corner back R4:Tackle R5: Linebacker R6: Next Tom Brady R7: Kicker
I been there before but never signed up. That place is non stop negativity. Even when we win it's something else we didn't do to please them lol
Next two games pretty much decide the season As for 'who do we draft" At this point, Guard is blaringly obvious
Tannehill is easily on the better side of the QBs in the league. There might be ten in the league that i'd pick over him. Our problems are much worse than Ryan Tannehill.
As usual, same old story, a lot of decisions will have to be made in the off season, a lot of holes to be filled, decisions on coaches to be made, do they stay or do they go? Same for GMs.
Yea, we saw it last night, every time Tanne is in a must win situation he either plays poorly or avg, and that's why he isn't a franchise QB. Your either part of the problem, part of the solution or part of the landscape, Tanne is part of the landscape.
I think there are games, last night's being one of them, where you're simply going to have to beat the other team's QB, and I'm not sure you guys have the ability to do that with Tannehill when it's against the league's best QBs. He looked completely outdueled by Tom Brady yesterday, which should create concern as to whether the Dolphins can ever compete with teams like those with Tannehill at QB. If that's the kind of performance he musters up when the big lights come on and the other team has a stud at QB, you all are in trouble.
Outside of Landry, Wake and Jones, we don't have enough football players making plays and impacting games. Whoever the next draft pick is, we need a playmaker whether it's on offense or defense. I'm still trying to decide if this team is going to be a 5-11 team with a high draft pick or a 8-8 team with a mid round pick. Bottom line, is we can't afford to keep missing on players. We need to take guys who will have an impact on this team.
That's not the argument though. It's takes a lot to repeatedly get to the Play-offs and contend. When you're looking at the QB position exclusively you see that the league's top QB really separate themselves year after year. The question isn't answered as easily as just saying 'no one is perfect.' I think there's a pretty good argument that Tannehill is a quality QB that is good enough to play NFL football but I also think people who view him as a Play-off caliber guy on the same order as Romo, Rivers or Roethlisberger are kind of kidding themselves. I could defend him more if he did the kind of non-traditional running stuff that Newton and Wilson do but he's not capable of that either. I mean, look at this Suh situation. No one is faulting the team for desiring Suh. He's a great player. But to sign a guy to a huge contract and then appear to have had no plan in place to make that guy a feature player and to sort of show yourself as having little else make the move look stupid. I think Tannehill is similarly disappointing to many fans who readily admit he's serviceable but also believe he's no where close to being a Super Bowl level guy. It's hard for me to go against that when he's not even capable of calling plays and organizing the offense, or so it seems.
It's not about winning, it's about rising to the occasion, win or lose, if he played well I'd be happy, but he laid an egg, and that happens too many times when he's needed to have a good game. He's not a money player.
The season isn't over until we have 6 loses, maybe even 7 seeing how bad most of the AFC is. Next game is huge for us, hopefully the team is eager for revenge on Buffalo.
i think thill is a decent quarterback and if we had a high draft pick, I would only draft a quarterback if it was obvious the guy would become the next Marino (which is really hard to tell... So I wouldn't draft a quarterback). I think they should restructure his contract and make some of that guaranteed money, bonuses - as in you play well, you get more money. But guys lets be real here, this team isn't a playoff caliber team... There's too many holes to fill and lack of talent on both sides of the ball. There's big names but no support cast.
The solution is keep drafting a Qb every couple years until we get the right one. We don't always have to use our top picks. Find a player who can make all the throws and has some passion for the game. They're there. THill has time to win a meaningful game still because no one is currently threatining his title as starter. As soon as he gets pressure from another player, will he fold like in games, or come thru? We'll see, but it would be nice if he would just start playing better in pressure games now.
Damn it I missed the last 9 games of the season!?!? How did we do? How did the D handle the loss of Wake? Did and young DE step up? Sure hope the OL got better, did the guards become NFL worthy? How about our young CBs? Camp fodder next year or was there some promise?............ Get real ppl there are 9 big games left that's over half the season for those who can't do the math. DE, Guard, CB and LB are so far and away above the priority list right now QB should not be in any discussion until the 6th or 7th round. SMH
