That, in fact, headset issues do occure in other stadiums and it is not just a Gillette/Patriot issue as the cheater Mike Tomlin claimed or the poster PhinPhan1968 challenged me on.
If you know anything about communications and frequencies, let alone encryption, you realize there are TONS of possibilities there, and there's PLENTY of opportunity to get it right with today's equipment. With advances explained in that first article, the tech alone wipes out a large portion of the possibility of problems, if handled correctly. Yet it keeps happening at Gillette. Even if I could grant that it only happens a small percentage MORE at Gillette than other places, what have the Cheatriots done in the past 15 years to garner ANY benefit-of-the-doubt as to their legitimacy in how they run their football operation? They've earned their reputation outside of Chowda-land...like it or not. How about that formation they ran against the Ravens in last year's playoffs that the NFL slammed them on? BB KNEW he was over the line, and didn't give a damn. He know damn well what the rules regarding those formations and eligibility meant from a competitive perspective, and he intentionally pissed on it because he knew the refs wouldn't be savvy on that particular detail...and by the time the NFL would do anything about it, the damage would already be done. This is just the RECENT stuff...go back to 2001 up for the full monte...if you could realistically look at the whole picture, you wouldn't be able to use the words "legitimate" and "football" in the same sentence. Extra speaker anyone?
The league so intent on nailing the Patriots just brushed "headset gate" under the rug...makes sense. As to the formation.... You do know it was legal right? I mean it WAS legal. How did the Patriots get "slammed" for it? Oh now it's illegal so they were doing it illegal then? BTW not sure you noticed but Harbaugh has pulled similar formations this year, hmmmm strange. Last year he was crying and this year he's attempting similar trickery. Like next thing you know the Patriots will pull a fake punt and that will be illegal. Look I get it. The Patriots deserve scrutiny and they get it but the piling on, conspiracy claims and down right paranoia are laughable and fuel for this current team so believe what you will. Care to claim your story of how the Patriots cheated to win tomorrow night ahead of time or shall we discuss it Friday?
Give it a few years, we'll all know. BB's been too successful at it to stop now. I never said it was or wasn't legal...I'm saying he took an obscure interpretation of it, that he knew damn well was against the spirit of the rule from a competitive advantage standpoint, and abused it.
We aren't talking "headset issues". We are talking about a long and consistent issue in on place at always the same time in a game. I get they're your team, so you're being stupid and delusional about it, but sell that **** somewhere else.
No PhisFan1968 and I were talking headset gate, not sure where you jumped in, anyways what better place to sell swampland than FLA? LOL!
We got into a deeper discussion specifically about headset gate so get over yourself with your "don't read comment". If you'd like to debate more the the preposterous story of playbook steeling or the ideal gas law as it relates to football PSI have at it.
So it's preposterous to accuse the Cheatriots of actually...cheating...alrighty then...have fun with that. Have a good one.
No it's what people who can't explain the Patriots success rely on as a crutch for their own teams ineptitude. See Mike Tomlin and his headsets not accounting for GRONK the entire game.
Headset Gate has been going on for years. It wasn't just the one game earlier this year. Learn stuff about your team. Use flash cards if necessary.
Says who? ESPN? Speculation? Conjecture? Disgruntled opponents? That's what you base this on? Proof? Anything? Not one former ex disgruntled employee comes forward to admit it to TMZ for $10K? Awesome cheating scheme once again! Grassy knoll dude grassy knoll. Keep trying tho it's cute.
Denial is silly. What about the 90+ people formerly associated with the Cheatriots that have provided testimony regarding their cheating and the advantages it gave the team? Hmm? Piss off...you're spent.
90+ people testified under oath the patriots cheat in regards to what exactly junior? About what? Spy gate? Stealing play books? Warm Gatorade? Cold showers or headset gate? Which is it? All the above? Oh right let's call them an immature name like Cheartriots or Bellicheat, or Marcia Brady to explain why __________insert home team hasn't won 4 Super Bowls since 2001! Amature hour I'm Miami/NYJville/PITT//BALT/INDY ETC. I love the hate and can't wait for more excuses tomorrow at midnight.
What exactly do you hope to achieve here? You think challenging opposing fans on their own forum about beliefs they have is really going to work? Let me tell you that it won't - it just leads to an ulcer for everyone involved. Stay and talk football - leave the various -gate stuff to others - you aren't going to going to win that argument here. As it stands, a perfectly decent thread about Miami fans attending the game tonight has been ruined by a bunch of smack talking junk.
It most certainly is. Fan rivalries are great, there's no doubt about that. But I have zero tolerance for making it personal, or physical. It's pathetic the way some people act at sporting events now. I was at a Lions/Bears game two years ago in Detroit, a man in his 60's who was a Bears fan, wearing a Bears golf shirt, who was three seats aware from me minding his own business, all he'd do is stand and clap or cheer if the Bears did something good, never said anything to anyone, but the end of the game (was a great game, Bears came back and won it in the 4th), by the time the comeback was on, people were throwing **** at him, calling him a Bear ****er, amongst other things... it was just pathetic. Completely pathetic. I haven't gone to an NFL game since. I get it, if you're going to get in someones face and talk ****, you're going to get what you deserve likely. If you're sitting there, minding your own business, cheering on your team, which is completely within your rights, then you should be left the **** alone. If the people around you can't handle that, then they need to grow the **** up and go home. Last Dolphins game I was at was in Detroit, thanksgiving. The Harrington game. I did just that, I sat there, cheered my *** off for the phins, people around me had some comments, but they really couldnt say much because of how bad the Lions were then, but I usually just laugh at what they say, then just say hey man, I'm just here to enjoy the game and I usually go introduce mysel fto them. At the end of the day, people need to remember, you aren't in the game. You're just a fan, in the stands. It's not your stadium. You don't need to protect it. You aren't at war. It's just a game.
I'm a Pats STH and see crap all the time. In the 100 & 200 section, not so much because of the security, but in the 300's? Very little security, lots of verbal and some physical altercations. I can't remember the last time I didn't see someone ejected in the nosebleeds. Frankly, it's one reason I don't attend games anymore - our fan base. Too many arrogant twenty-somethings that have never experienced a losing season, acting like idiots to visiting fans.
Most teams rarely mention headset problems unless it's against the Pats, though Harbaugh did complain that it happened to the Ravens last weekend. It happened in the Bills - Jags game in London too.
Go and have a good time. It's a very safe venue. I see many, many, many fans of opposing teams at every single game. Your biggest worry will be the weight you gain from the food and drink they share with you in the parking lots. Please share your experience post game with us. Thanks
