Hey yall, headed to the game tomorrow night and needed some advice to anyone who knows their way around Gillette. Was gonna tailgate but weather is iffy and I have kids, so does anyone know much about the restaurants around Patriots Place? I know gates open around 4:30..but is there enough time to eat at one of restaurants and get to game on time? Also wondered if it were possible to get autographs before game...where any of you have had luck with this? Thanks to anyone who can answer or offer any tips ...much appreciated!
Bring some spray deodorant. NE fans stink. You may need to spray some of it around you to offset the stench. Also, bring dunce caps, NE fans are easily distracted and a bit slow.
lol...Ive actually been to a few Phins games at Gillette and the old Fox...and to be honest Pats fans were pretty cool. I was there when we had that big comeback game with Damon Huard ...sat next to a drunk Santa Clause..
You'll have plenty of time. Lot of restaurants with a wide range of pricing, from Olive Garden to Davio's. You might try CSB Scene. It overlooks the stadium and you can catch the pregame stuff on the big screens, watch the crowds pour in, and then just leave the restaurant and enter the stadium. Leave yourself at least an hour to get thru the gate and to your seats. Security is ramped up for prime time games. Hope you can avoid the worst of our fan base, but I expect that will be tough. If you're lucky, you'll be surrounded by long time season ticket holders.
We are sitting in section 105..Row 5...close to field so was hoping fans might be more gentle there..lol. To be honest..its my first game taking the kids and was kind of worried how some fans might be...hopefully they will see kids and layoff some.
Fans there are pretty reasonable. I was at the game last December. Always funny to hear the knuckleheads yell "have fun flying back to Miami" when I live 30 minutes from the stadium. The restaurants there are reasonable, but the lines are pretty long, so add a few extra minutes. If you've been there before, then you know how much of a ripoff parking is. I parked a mile away in a McDonald's parking lot and still got charged $50.
Yeh...we were gonna go way early and visit Pat Place ..I think stadium parking is 40...wonder how early I should head over? Staying at the Courtyard Marriot like 5 miles away
If a hot little number in ****-me pumps propositions you, then accept.....and then drug him so Pats have to play without Brady.
Since Im with kids..aged 6 and 11 would it be wise not to wear Phins gear? Guess Im just worried some drunk *** will harass them...which would then piss me off and Mommy would need to bail Daddy out if Jail...lol
I will also be going to the game tomorrow night. I know i have read that general admission is 40 dollars to park, but why do they sell a parking pass? Do i need a parking pass to park in the stadium lot? Or is it just the 40 dollars to park in that lot?
Hello All, It should be a good game. I'm hopping all players stay healthy. OP you and the family will be just fine so go and have a good time. Patriots fans are very welcoming and friendly. Good seats, I'm diagonally across the stadium from you. Parking farther out on Rte 1 gets you out of the area much faster. Great facilities but a sucky infrastructure. In the stadium lot figure about and 1-1/2 to get out of the lot. You're better off just chilling out with some food and drinks waiting it out. Around 4 is a good time to roll in. You can run the gamut with restaurants but the higher end ones will take reservations. I wouldn't plan on any autographs.
Parking passes are sold by season ticket and suite members. They are pricey, but provide closer access to the stadium and easier in/out than the other stadium lots. If you want to go early to check out Patriot Place, you are allowed to park for free in designated areas, but only for 2hrs. Then you have to go pay an attendant or get charged $100 when you leave after the game. Stadium lots will open around 4:30. No pass required, just fork over the $40.
I'd avoid any hassle and leave the fins gear at home. The folks sitting around you in 105 won't be a problem, but when you head to the bathrooms or the concourse....who knows? Night games give fans plenty of time to get well lubricated.
I figured night game and two days before Halloween could get kinda nutty...especially if the Phins were to pull off a miracle and win...
Just remember to wear your full body condoms. I hear that New England has germs that rot your brain and encourage you to lie, cheat and steal your way into feeling like a winner. Your kids definitely don't need to come home with any of that stuff.
The passes are typically for season ticket holders. In my experience at jets and giants games they basically guarantee that you have a spot. Not sure if it'll work different in Foxboro. Also, I'd probably leave the Phins gear at home. Or wear a coat over it tIl the 4th quarter and if we are up by like 3 scores at the 5 minute mark then you can unveil a nice wake or Tannehill jersey lol. During the game I suspect you'd be ok with it....it's on the concourse during bathroom breaks and entering or leaving the stadium I suspect you're more likely to encounter a douchebag. That's just from years of going to jets-phins games.
Pretty much exactly my plan...got my Landry jersey on under hoody...keep it there and a non phins hat and figure we should be goid
I traveled up there long ago to see Marino and the gang pummel them, before Gilette. Your from Vermont, so I'm sure you know about the MASS holes. They didn't hesitate to throw food at a small kid like I was. I'd imagine they aren't as miserable these days from a sports standpoint, but MASS holes nonetheless.
Yeah things have changed quite a bit since 1999. Like the stadium, the team, and the fans. Security is everywhere and knuckle head activity (like throwing food) is not tolerated (anymore). To the OP wearing Phins gear, don't worry for a second, you will be fine especially with kids in tow. Now if you were a rowdy inebriated guy wearing Phins gear looking for a fight or wishing that Tom Brady becomes paralyzed then yes you would get some trouble.
I stopped wearing Phins gear to Gillette, cause I got sick of the crap from drunk Pats fans. Some girl wearing a Dolphins jersey got beat up in the bathroom, too. LOL
Resnor.........Proof on that? And if true NOT LOL......what is wrong with some of the Phins fans? Every third post is either demented of full of conspiracy crap.
Yeah, I took pictures and blogged it from the stadium. I wouldn't recommend wearing a Dolphins jersey, if you want to have a good time and enjoy the game. The only time I really enjoyed it was when I was at the snow game, and the stadium was largely empty, so no one was around to harass me.
Link to the Blog? Not that I doubt you (that much) But Gillette is pretty "corporate" nowadays with pretty much zero tolerance and in all the games I've ever been to (many) I've never seen anything approaching an un welcoming like you describe. On second thought Jets fans take it a bit harder than most but they are also the douchiest guests.
Guess I should have put the /s after that part, to spell out my sarcasm. No, I don't have proof, was what I was told at the game. Regardless, it's not enjoyable to wear Phins gear at the game, imo.
I've been going to the Patriot/Dolphins game for the past 20 years or so and I stopped wearing my Dolphins gear because it 's not worth the harassment. The fans are always drunk and ignorant. Last year I saw a man and a woman with a young child being heckled laced with profanity after the game. My friend, who is a season ticket holder, was even upset about the behavior.
Troll thinks it's "demented" to warn of horrible experiences attending sporting events in Boston. Pointing out blatant cheating is " conspiracy crap ". Thanks for stopping by to further drive home these points. Don't support douchbaggery in organized sports made for fun/ entertainment. It's a growing problem.
We both know that "headset gate" is crap, and it's New England Patriots not Boston and the stadium is in Foxboro which lies 30 miles south of Boston. The demented part was aimed at another poster that stated he wished Tom Brady to be paralyzed in tomorrow nights game. If you don't agree so be it. Carry on.
Headset-gate isn't crap...for YEARS other teams (before and during being hushed by the NFL) have complained about it. But that's only the tip of the iceburg...minor in comparison to the more heinous stuff they've been caught doing...but whatever, the NFL lets them do it, even personally helps them destroy the evidence, so it is what it is.
You don't really believe this do you? Do you realize the layers upon layers of officials that would all have to be involved and never speak out of the massive coverup needed to perpetuate this myth? My god some people are just not too bright.
Then why is Gillette the only stadium where you hear about this? Do you realize how simple it is to cause an interruption to one side's signal? Child's play to a good IT techie. Ya...some people are not too bright.
