Per Cap'n Lou, Rookie Bobby McCain will be the nickel back in the Texans game... Taylor starts on the perimeter. Brice McCain is out. Glad to see Bobby. This kid was very good at Memphis and has some natural instincts and ball skills.
While I have a feeling that the other McCain's injury may have forced this, it's very very different to see our staff starting a guy and saying that they'll get better on the field and not sitting because they're not practicing the right way.
McCain is fearless and amazingly agile. Perfect for the slot...He's a 4.6 40 guy, so he's not very fast.
Upside, speed, and tackling. Jamar has a ton of potential, he just needs to improve his ball skills and he will be aiight. Zach Bowman is a JAG much like Brice McCain (unfortunately). Jamar and Bobby are the future, glad we're giving them meaningful reps like we did with Tannedank so they should grow too (hopefully).
Agree, but saw a tweet from Adam Beasley saying that Zack Bowman had been away from the team, but was back now.
McCain got some playing time towards the end of last weeks game and he seems to at least know where to be on the field defensively. Glad he's getting a look, hopefully he delivers for us. Now if we could just get Jordan Kovacs some more PT
This makes me happy. I've been banging the table for Bobby to get more playing time. Interested to see how he responds.
He had 11 snaps and 3 tackled against the Titans. Would have to go back and review the tape to see how effective he was in coverage.
You must be thinking of Lippett, McCain ran a 4.51 at the combine and ran some 4.3's while at Memphis. He is an outstanding athlete with good size and strength; he is just short, but so is Grimes...http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=110228&draftyear=2015&genpos=CB
No way, sweet... thanks, thinking of Lippet. He's in the perfect place to learn from Grimes. He went to Memphis to turn the program around. Seems perfect for the slot.
