That pass to Stills is exactly what I talked about for two years with Wallace. Wallace never adjusted until the last minute. He'd run full speed 35+ yards downfield, then come to almost a complete stop in the last 5 yards to wait for a ball. Stills adjusted much earlier, allowing himself to still advance at a decent speed, allowing the ball to travel out in front, then accelerated back to the ball.

    Great play.

I think the stills/tannehill combo is still in its embryonic stages but as the season progresses I think we may start seeing a lot more big chunk plays between the two. I was pretty high on stills when we brought him over. It looks like we're just starting to find his place in this offense

He's averaging 11.5 a catch (lowest of his career), about 52 ypg, and his longest catch is 22 yards. Looks like he's no better a deep threat this year than the past 3 seasons.

We're talking about it because there are still those who believe Tannehill was the problem with a Wallace.

If you watched the Broncos over the last couple years, you saw A LOT of those throws.

It doesn't require you have a ton of pass protection.

You just need a fast receiver like Emmanuel Sanders or Kenny Stills as well as a QB who's willing to take the shot and put the ball out there.

The QB needs to see that 1-on-1 match-up before the snap and pull the trigger early.

This is exactly what I've been asking for and I'm glad we've now at least seen they can do it.

Man I just watched it again! If he doesn't slip that is a 97 yard TD!

but the point some have been making is that throw to stills hasn't been in the repertoire as far as the gameplan goes, thats a scripted throw, throw it 10 yards out and let him run under it..Some folks are saying that it might have been installed last week and actually taught by al saunders as the correct way for ryan to measure, as in maybe it was never taught to ryan as to how to throw a deep ball like this.

yes weve been asking for this throw for a while, and actually with ryans natural plane, its a great throw for him, just drop and fire it out there, no thinking involved actually, its the pureest form of a qb throw you can find..

Yeah but the slipping was understandable. Would've been ridiculous if he juked Michael Griffin and went 97 yards like that.

Michael Griffin actually did a pretty great job coming over from his center field position and getting Kenny Stills down. That's what is so enticing about this play. Blidi Wreh-Wilson is 6'1" and has 4.39 speed, so he's ideal as a guy you think should be able to stay with receivers even if you have him come up and play press-man with single high coverage. And indeed, Blidi had good technique on the play. He didn't lunge or miss a jam, take bad steps or anything like that. Michael Griffin didn't take false steps either. He read the play right about when he'd be expected to read it, and came over to Stills with his own 4.40 speed.

But all that didn't matter because Kenny Stills was just that fast and that good, and Ryan Tannehill's ball placement and timing were that on point. It's exactly the kind of outcome that scares a defense into slicing off an entire section of defensive play calls and coverages that they believe are simply too dangerous to execute against the Dolphins offense.

What interests me about the execution of the play being THAT good, THAT crisp, is it occurred the very next game after Al Saunders was brought in with one of his mandates being to work with receivers and quarterbacks on the timing, design and execution of deep passes. Well, according to Chris Chambers anyway.

Well, I meant more when the game is on the line and a little mental pressure on him. If you watch the game, Tannehill looked very relaxed in the 4th quarter when the game was out of reach. If he plays like that all the time,,,, look out .

I so loved that drive. It was nirvana. 97 yards. Had some great passes, very good protection, power running and great play calling to keep the D off balance. Great to see it again.

That 97 yard TD drive is tied for the 3rd longest scoring drive in Dolphins’ history.

    Lmao. Only this board.

"Tannehill can't throw a deep ball"
    (Tannehill does so, flawlessly)
"Yeah well..uh.... he can't throw another one"

Meanwhile Wallace is in MN being a borderline nonfactor compared to what some here said he would do. They know who they are, too. Ahaha.

Would Stills be a good player to pick up in fantasy football?

I got Rishard Matthews and he looks to be a big pickup. You guys target Parker much either?

Parker hasn't seen a whole lot of play time, due to how well Matthews has been playing. Wouldn't expect to see that change anytime soon.

I just traded Kelce for Matthews. He's going to get as much work as he can handle imo.

Parker is further back in depth and may not be 100% yet.
