http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...a-fork-in-em-11-teams-that-wont-make-playoffs Here's one for Lbersfinest. My hope their wrong meter is only about a 2 out of 10 but a hard turn around would be nice. I'm now predicting 4 wins maybe, what a awful feeling.
If their criteria is playoffs or no playoffs I'd have to agree. Miami is in a tough division and is way behind the 8 ball. Their schedule will get tougher and the pressure will only increase. I'd say playoffs are HIGHLY unlikely.
we're like 1.5 games out of a spot and the supposed tough teams later this yr eagles, ravens, cowboys w/o romo, and texans are not that tough as 1st thought. we're still a long shot, but I wouldn't be extremely shocked if we won a playoff spot.
A lot of things need to happen. First, getting healthy and staying healthy. Albert, Grimes, Wake, Vernon, Sims for starters. If those guys are on the field playing to their potential then there's a decent chance for a run. The AFCS and NFCE are bad divisions, Baltimore and SD are both winnable games. Win 6 of those 9, split the remainder of the AFCE games and you're looking at 9-7. Not likely, but doable.
This team is 1-3 against what was suppose to be the easy part of their schedule and will likely be 1-4 after they play this Sunday. They will be fortunate to finish 5-11 this year and I don't see any 5-11 teams making the playoffs. To me the rest of this season is about determining who the head coach will be in 2016 and which players Tannebaum and the new head coach want to keep to build this team around starting next year.
I am thinking between 4-12 -6-10 will be the best we do.New coach can't fix this mess overnight with all the damage philbin has done in the last 3 years.
The linebackers are happy we aren't going to the postseason?? Why? Because the are that bad? Namaste.
In the unlikely event that you`re serious, no not linebackers. He was referring to LB`sFinest - a poster here that lives and breathes negativity. I`m pretty much a pessimistic optimist myself ( is that even possible ?), but LB`s negative take on this team is second to none.
Seems like we've gone from vastly over rating the Fins to vastly underrating them. One win is what they need. Get some positive vibe in the locker room and take it from there. The schedule is nowhere near as tough as it once looked, not a chance in hell they lose 12 games IMO.
while the perception may be that he is negative, hes been right about as much as anyone on this site has been right about.. so because he was negative while everything had yet to be determined doesnt make him negative, it makes him someone who felt a certain way about certain things and wound up being right.
That's the beauty of being negative. If you're right, you get to say "told you so, I'm so smart!" And if you're wrong, no one cares cause that means we're winning. The difference is some of us are actually crazy enough to believe in this team sometimes. I'm often "wrong" when it comes to this team because I root for players to succeed even if deep down I don't think they will.
Won the division in '08. That was a positive. Too bad it didn't last. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That was more of a mirage. We really weren't that good of a team then. We were gonna start Josh McCown at QB before Pennington arrived. If not for ol Noodle Arm and the wildcat gimmick working when it did, we would've been awful. We just haven't been that good of a team in a long, long time. The last time I thought we had a good team was 2002 with Ricky going insane and JT and the D at their prime, but we had Fiedler at QB and Wanny made a lot of dumb decisions. Before then, the last truly contending Dolphins team was the 1994 squad. But even then, the 49ers that year were unstoppable. The 1992 squad was good, but Bills had our number and those Cowboys would've whooped us anyway. 1985? We did beat the Bears that year so who knows. 1984? Last Super Bowl appearance, 49ers unbeatable with our aging D and a still-green Marino. But at least we used to go the playoffs regularly back then. The 2000s and so far 2010s have been lost decades for us fans. Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
I'm already looking at draft prospects ....drooling over Jalen Ramsey. yet another wasted season ...thanks Stephen!
Dolphins looking up at all 3 division rivals and have lost 2 home games vs the 2 lesser foes. It really doesn't look good Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk
Right about what? Team wins 7 or 8 games, is generally mediocre, he says Ireland sucks, OK. That means the coaching staff is doing well if they can win 8 games with a roster that sucks. Ireland leaves. Team still wins 7-8 games. Then he says the coaching staff sucks. The roster must have 9-11 win potential if they win 7-8 games with a coaching staff that sucks. When you put it all together it makes zero sense. Basically the guy calls any and everyone an idiot. No doubt he is provacative and entertaining but let's pump the brakes on saying he's right about anything.
I'm a football geek, like most of us, but I think im an extreme case, I actually really pay attention to what people go on the record for. I know he didn't like Ireland, I know he didn't like Philbin, from the get, I know he said this team the past few years would not make the playoffs, I know he said we'd choke the last two..I know he thought we'd be below average this year.. I mean if a person feels this way about the front office and they feel they have a pulse on how bad they are then theres no possible way for them to be positive, that would mean he's a complete homer, and I know that's not the case.. I think he's proved enough on the record amidst mostly everyone being happy while he was being negative to gain some respect.. He's goes about analyzing the team differently, rooting differently, but I don't question is passion for the team, and if you have that the I can deal with many personalities.. Let me ask you this what did you disagree with him on that hasn't come true?
I can't believe that a serious website would say that a bunch or crap teams with crap records will probably miss the playoffs... Am I the only one shocked ?
Besides the obvious? That the team is average and therefore can't have both bad coaching and bad talent?
Very interesting. For me, the Dolphins aren't as good as I thought are but the same can be said for most of the teams on the schedule.
well, I think we need to hear what the man of this particular conversation/thread thinks of our new coach?
