I'm told he was inconsistent in practices. Campbell did say that once he improves, he'll see more playing time. Then eventually what we all want to see, a starting spot. It starts in practices...how bad does he want it?

i blame the ppl in charge of evaluating talent... matthews was a steal, parker was a reach... i see them as the same player.. matthews has a few seasons on parker but eventually parker will come aropund and dare i use a joe philbin phrase? he will be a serviceable wr....

It's still too early to make a decision on him and I like what he brings to the game, when he earns more playing time. Considering the huge hole at LG, MLB, S and CB this pick becomes more and more questionable. It's almost like clueless Joe and or Hickey/Tannenbaum didn't know what they had on their roster and needed to add to a strong position.

Hopefully the money spent on Parker doesn't prevent us from locking up Matthews long term.

I thought he looked pretty good in the Bills game. He also went up and came down with a jump ball in the end zone but Tannehill threw it too far out of bounds. They need to give him playing time. Don't understand why now he isn't looking consistent in practice? A couple weeks ago the team was raving how good he was looking in practice.

He is still showing effects from his injury.Slight limp which is probably causing him to be inconsistent. Thankfully Tanny has other weapons like Stills who is looking like the deep threat he was last year.Mathews has shown terrific improvement too .Landry is mr. reliable.

We have three TEs now which will add to the diversity.

IMO Parker will be a big part of this offense.....when he gets up to speed.

IMO Jennings is the luxury WR .We could have used another OL or CB instead of him.Thats on Philbin.

Parker was a reach? Wow. Just Wow.

I'm sure they said the same thing about Beckham in NY too last year before he was healthy enough to play.

    You can't be serious.

    1) This is Rishard Matthew's 4th year playing with Ryan Tannehill. Of course they have chemistry.

    2) DeVante Parker is a rookie recovering from foot surgery.

Give Parker time to develop. He has a high ceiling. Right now is Rishard Matthew's time to shine.

I think it's nice that we don't have to rush him in. It's a good problem to have.

Once he starts to come around and becomes more involved in the offense, it might be good timing where teams may miss him in certain situations. Hopefully, those will be TDs.

I'd love to see more of Parker but with the depth Miami has at WR there is no need to rush him back or play him just bc he's a top pick.

With Sims healthy there will be a fewer 3WR sets, so Parker may not see much time. I do think they can design a few plays for him each game, a screen, a fade, some easy stuff just to keep his head in the game. The way Landry, Matthews and lately Stills are playing, I'm fine either way.

It is what it is. We'd have been better off with a different player, at least for the short term. However going forward we don't need to worry about wr. Just have to wait and see.

Kid is a true #1 receiver. He'll be a nightmare for the Pats small db's. Best hands in the draft. Truly gifted at high pointing the ball.

Don't know why anyone would bash him as a fan. Can't wait to see him play full time.

Actually some fans were calling sports radio last year and did say beckham was a bad pick when he was hurt. That looked foolish real quick. Hopefully this works out as well.

Its really very simple why Parker isn't getting a lot of snaps and its 2 reasons:

    1. He's behind because of the injury which is tough for a rookie skill player.
    2. Who do you sit for him to play? The only player's role he could take is Matthews and Matthews is tearing **** up right now. Parker is not a slot guy and even if he was Landry is THE emotional leader of the offense and a helluva a player. Stills is the speed guy and Parker isn't.

He's healthy enough to play and he's really good.

The problem is that there are players ahead of him that are playing very well.

Could this turn into a busted pick? Yes. However, I don't think it's because Parker isn't good. He would be doing very well in Carolina, Chicago, Oakland, Indianapolis, or some of the other teams that took WR this year.

The problem, and it's a good problem, Miami ran into is they never expected Rishard Matthews to be doing as well as he has.

I don't think Parker is still injured. I don't think he's not practicing well. I think that is all pure speculation. He's just behind on the depth chart to other guys right now.

This is what happens when Joe Philbin puts a player in a doghouse for no apparent reason. You can't see what he can provide!

    I agree with this.

This is just semantics, but I think it's more of Rishard Matthews, Kenny Stills, and Jarvis Landry complement each other well. It's not a Stills is a fast guy, Landry a slot guy, Matthews a big guy thing. They just fit well and the pass offense runs better with those guys.

I think Parker is a crazy good talent and plays should be built for him in the same way Pittsburgh did with Martavis Bryant last year. Maybe he has only 5-10 snaps a game, but those should be meaningful where he can make big plays.

I think they'll find out ways to use him later on in the season when he gets more acclimated to the offense and the NFL in general.

Maybe we can try and pair him with Kenny Stills on a few plays and throw him the ball deep like what happend in the Titans game. Maybe try something like a 2 TE formation on 1st or 2nd down, have Stills sell the go route but run a comeback on one side of the field while Parker runs a go on the other. After what happened in the Titans game, Stills while likely draw some coverage towards him while leaving Parker possibly one-on-one.

DeVante Parker may not be as fast as Stills but he has decent speed and a huge catch radius to go along with it. I think there's a big chance of completing the pass or drawing a PI if we try a few plays like this.

I think a lot of people are getting Odell Beckham syndrome, WR is a notorious position for players having to get adjusted to it from college, it's a 1000 times more complicated and intricate, without getting into the speed differential.

Some players get it quickly, others don't, not every rookie WR that misses TC pops out of the box like a firecracker, if fact, OB is probably the only one to do it, so we need to have a little patience here.

he is not clearly better than stills, landry or matthews. that is why he plays so little. greg jennings getting any snaps ahead of parker is a joke tho.

Not really, when we drafted Parker, Stills had just joined the team and Matthews had had a few sparks, but not really much.... the big thing is that Matthews has created a spot for himself...

The WR position usually has a steep learning curve. Some guys who are tremendous route runners (OBJ, Cooper) can come up and beat NFL boundary corners right away, but it is not the norm. Parker's biggest weakness to me is his route running, so I never really expected him to play much this year aside from RZ usage. Missing most of TC and PS doesn't help either. It's nice we have better options too, of course. Nothing unusual, nothing to sweat.

well you see, when you have a broken foot and don't practice for 8 months. you don't catch 10 balls a game and get 150 yards right away.

This kind of catch is what Parker brings to the table which none of our other WRs have . He has a great jump ball and catch radius which will allow Tanny to sling it in his general direction and he will come up with it .When he gets his consistency up to speed I predict he will become another of Tannys favorite WRs especially in the redzone.

He could be our secret weapon against the Pats. They dont have much film on him so they wont know how to prepare for him.

Yeah don't draft a great receiver because you can predict that Rischard Matthews will be a putting up 20 Fantasy Points. This receiving corp is deep, Parker will be a player soon. Just be happy they're getting it done.

I guess the bigger question is where has Greg Jennings been? But also, who cares?
