That was a fun freaking game. I haven't seen insanity in a playoff game like since the 2003 & 2004 Sox/Yanks ALCS series.

Also I wonder if David Price had an issue with that Bautista pimp job and bat flip. I'm guessing no....

(I probably shouldn't knock possible future Red Sox David Price though)

Legend has it Bautista's bat is still flying.

I'm a little disappointed in my hometown fans throwing beers after the call to let Odor score, which was the correct call IMO. Just didn't like how the ump waved it off. It's like the whistle blowing the play dead in football. Even though the Jays had no chance to make a play at the plate. Whatever.

Any fan base would have reacted the same way, heck it might have been even worse in some places. The thing I didn't like is how after the play was over and done with and the game resumed the fans kept throwing stuff on the field, especially after the benches clearing incident.

I did think the umps handled the situation pretty well all things considering. And of course I'm glad that that play wasn't the deciding factor in the game.

Dodgers bats suck lol they left so many RISP stranded. Justin Turner did everything to score and they could not get him in once.

For all the money the Dodgers spend I can't believe how many flaws that team had. I don't think Mattingly survives this and will probably end up managing the Marlins if you want to believe the rumors.

    Anyway congrats Boik.

As someone that doesn't have a dog in the fight the final 4 teams left should be fun series ahead.

Mets and cubs...ooooh this is gonna be a fun one. No Addison Russell supposedly (hammy issues). Cubs young bats and 2 stud arms vs mets 4 stud arms and seriously improved line up vs the regular season 7-0 debacle the mets had vs the Cubbies. D'Arnaud and Cuddyer missed most of those games, Duda missed a few (though he could have missed the whole LA series and no one would have noticed) obviously added Cespedes and Conforto has been called up (and imo already the 3rd best hitter on this team). Wright missed all 7 games as well. Literally over half our lineup, plus bench guys like Kelly Johnson and Neuwhenhuis were not around.

The cubs are favorites already...which is fine. #LetsGoMets.

Yeah, the Mets weren't as good a team during those regular season meetings as they are now, of course. However, the Cubs also didn't have Kyle Schwarber up yet, and Soler was injured. Both have been on fire this post season. Russell has been ruled out for the NLCS (no word on beyond yet), so Javy Baez will play short. He isn't as good as Russell with the glove, but he's still a good defender himself, and Baez offers much more potential with the bat. He strikes out, but he has 40 HR power too.

Could be fun to see which SS helps their team more. Both Flores and Baez are more 2B then SS defensively but both have pop. Also Flores has shown some flair for the dramatic (not just crying on the field)....could totally see him having a big series.

Schwarber and Bryant are the new bash brothers....both those kids are beasts. Good luck (but not too good lol)..

I am proud of my Mets, and think this series is going to be a great one... I am scared of the Cubbies though. The way they have been hitting could be a tall task to overcome, but hopefully the young arms can cool those bats. Mets in 7 :shifty:

Gotta beat the best to be the best....If we win, it only further establishes our team. If we lose...well we lost to a great young team.

The umpire assignments are out, and the NL absolutely got the better end of the deal. The maniacs are all doing the AL games.

Yep and the Dodgers have even more holes now. No worries they will probably add another 100 million or so to the payroll ;)

Maniacs probably favor KC. KC is not going to win a slugfest with toronto, they need low scoring games and for that to happen they will need a wide strike zone.

What's your point? That it took a then 20 year old prospect with only 107 games of experience at Double A at the time of the trade only 4 years to become a superstar?

Oh no doubt they're going to spend money to either resign Grienke or sign a Price/Cueto. They're also going to need a 2B and a SS/3B depending on where Seager plays.

To be honest I don't really care who the mets are playing in the WS so long as we get there....50 50 shot from there.

Really, really disapointed in the Cubs. Impatient, and swinging at bad pitches all night. When they did make contact, aside from Shwarber's HR, it was generally miserable, weak grounders and pop ups. Made life really easy for the Mets pitchers. Hopefully, they can wipe it from their minds and actually show up and play tomorrow. :pity:

noah is so good pitching at citi field i think tomorrow will be a lot closer than cubs fans would be comfortable with even with Arrieta.

Yeah, he and the rest of the team has just imploded. Hopefully, they learn something from getting their rear ends handed to them and come back stronger next spring. The Mets are clearly more ready to play playoff baseball.

No way...you aint handing this to my Mets. Been through too much with this team losing games they should win (See G7 2006 for reference...I think I am just now getting my voice back from that game).

I like the outing Thor had. Now the pen has to make it work and hopefully the offense can give the mets a little more run support.....

Things could change at Wrigley, but our bats have just looked inept. Not even liners right to a guy or warning track fly balls. Just weak grounders, pop ups and strike outs. I understand that the Mets have talented pitchers, but they're also young and haven't been here before either. I expected better, and I'm disappointed.

It feels the same way it has the last few times the Fins have made the playoffs and gotten themselves manhandled by the Ravens.

    I think Arietta's just hitting a wall.

What is surprising is the utter lack of hitting. Mets have a very good staff, but the Cubs have faced and beaten good pitching (including the mets in the regular season). Still, baseball is weird as hell and can turn on a dime. Do not count anyone out - Mets cannot get overconfident.

For sure. I hope the Mets don't become too overconfident as well. I could totally see the Chicago bats waking up at home. I do like that the Mets have deGrom going for them in game 3 though. I'm optimistic for my Mets, but as Boik noted above... game 7 NLCS 2006 still stings. You just never know.

Arrieta looked so uncomfortable from the start, not sure if the coldweather bothered him but it ain't getting warmer in this series.. both cold environments. His face looked like the face someone would have during flu season. Not saying he had the flu but he just didn't show any confidence and looked very uncomfortable.

Cubs have exhausted all their motivational speeches now... their backs are against the wall and at 0-3 it will be near impossible.

Yup. Just weren't ready for this I guess. Take a deep breath and regroup for next season. Hopefully, they can add another top starter to fit between Arrieta and Lester, and with the year of experience under their belt, and the experience of playing together, can do better. Bryant, Russell, Baez, and Schwarber will all be on an opening day roster for the first time, and Soler missed a lot of time injured this year. The future is still bright.

Has a MLB team ever came back in a playoff series down 3 games to 0?
