You can't change anything right away.....simple fact its the middle of a season, the only one that could go was Philbin

If the team responds with a win in Tennessee he will probably stay til the end of the season....just a prediction. Hopefully this was enough to get the guys to respond

Sad that the happiest moments in our fandom since 2008 have been at the news of ineffectual staff being fired. I'll give Ross some credit. It's 9 months too late, but at least he had the nerve to fire him at a point where it's not too late to maybe salvage a season or at least see how the current roster responds with new coaching.
As excited as we might be about new possibilities, let's try to remember some guys just lost their jobs, and Philbin has already had to deal with the loss of his son. Might I suggest we try to keep this civil/respectful?

ABC Miami's sports reporter Will Manso: team wasn't playing hard for Philbin, had to go. Philbin statement- thanks fans for "unconditional support". Turns out he was delusional.
Is there a dislike button? Seriously, the guy's just been fired. He's showing real class in handling it. You might want to consider checking yourself.
He had to go. Philbin sensing unconditional support from the fan base is nothing short of delusional. If you don't like it...
Philbin tried to fight for his job, but his fatal flaw was using arguments prepared for him by Kevin Coyle. Ross just powered right through them...
All to crazy 6 weeks ago Philbin was dancing on stage in a white cape playing air guitar.. Today he's interviewing for a crew shift manager at miami dades McDonals... "I better not see those shoelaces or candy wrappers on the floor!"
It's called taking the high road. The guy could moan or whine or cast blame or ignore everyone. Instead he's speaking well of everyone, even the fans. Don't kick a man while he's down.
Wow. Has there ever been a case in NFL history where the head coach and the coordinators were fired mid-season? I can't remember one.
As I said in the Club, Campbell reminds me a bit of Bill Cowher, and that's exactly the kind of coaching direction this teams need to go, Campbell is the anti-Philbin.
I never like it when someone loses their job. I'm sorry it didn't work out with Philbin, but glad the change has been made. I wish him the best of luck.

Philbin by all accounts is a very decent man- nice statement on the way out, too, but no need to fudge as per the unconditional support of the fans, which he far from had. Small potatoes, though- he had to go, period. He was fired, this isn't a funeral, this is more about the team moving forward from a disastrous period, not about speaking well of the dead. I feel bad for the man, I'm happy as hell for the Dolphins. Ross finally did something right.
By all counts Joe Philbin is a good man and ultimately I hate to see agood man lose his job, but he had to go. He just wasn't the right man for the job.
