Maybe it's too early in the week to post this. Everyone is still venting over the last two weeks futile efforts. But if we look at last year's start, it's pretty much the same as this year's. We surprised the Patriots week one 33-20 then proceeded to get destroyed by the Bills and Chiefs 29-10 and 34-15 respectively. Week four we played the Raiders and destroyed them. The jets have their owns problems right now and are definitely beatable. Nick Mangold is playing like crap which should be good news for Suh or Mitchell. OG Willie Colon sucks and might be worse than what we have at guard. So we have a big hole to exploit on defense and either Suh or Mitchell should have a field day. the running game stalled out against Philly's defense and left it to noodle armed Fitzpatrick to win the game. They have zero TEs, Brandon Marshall is brain farting all over the field again although putting up numbers. But after Marshall there arent that many threats. Bottom line, this could be the first game we see our defense dominate. They will probably have to since the Jets defense is good. They have a great pas rush so somehow we have to stick to the running game and play field position with them. Short passes and rollouts. To me this is Coyle's week. He needs to put out a defense that can hold the Jets offense to under 14 points. I think it can be done considering the competition. If the Jets put up more than 20 points on us then Coyle needs to go. Offensively LAZOR needs to look at the PHilly run scheme since it was very effective against the Jets defense. I would say that we need Coyle and Miller to be the MVPs next week to win
Sadly, I think we win this week...we always seem to play well in foreign countries. And I can't believe that I'm depressed about the possibility of winning, but a big win means that we won't change anything until the end of the season (at least). That's just not acceptable in my case. Then again, I definitely can't ever root against my Fins...I'm just not built that way. But I'm also dreading the "emotional victory" to show that the team is rallying around their coach...we've heard that song three years in a row and it's certainly not a #1 hit.
I have a feeling we win as well. But it will be another game that goes down to the final possession. Not sure if the jets are better than us or not, too early to tell.
i will say emotionally it will be easier to lose this game and then just give up on the season early. if we're 2-2 like last year its another season of stress, pain, anger, disgust with brief interludes of hope
It's never too early to focus on what matters... It's already too late for those wrapped up in their feelings, pantyhose. The season is young...rough starts happen. The idea was to stop flopping at the finish... We can be 2-2 going into a bye with something to prove, as apposed to riding the hype wave to a fast start before crumbling at the end. I just wish the fans would have some class and act like grown men. The team will never get over the hump with a fanbase full of *****es. Some people got here because of tropical colors and cute Dolphins.... Others because of Csonka,Marino, etc. Be a man or pick new colors you fruits!
Until we make a rotation change in the secondary or the defensive line becomes a threat to sack the quarterback, we can expect to get burned. Look for Marshall and Decker to have good games. Stopping Chris Ivory is a pipe dream as well. We can win this game, but the Jets defense is every bit as physical as Buffalos. Gonna be a tall task. If we win...great! I'm going to support and believe until we are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
I fully expect this team to go to London next week and play an ugly game against the Jets and win. Philbin is addicted to being average. It's what he lives for. It's why his teams have never climbed more than 2 games above 500 since he started here, and have never won more than 3 games in a row. We'll go out, "win one for the Philbo," and then come out of the bye with new hope at 2-2. Ross will take this as a sign that we've "turned a corner." We'll know better - it's just a mirage. We've seen this before - we know how this goes - the Dolphins will proceed to get to 6-6, maybe even 7-5 or so, and all we have to do is win and we're in. But they'll collapse in December and we'll finish somewhere between 6-10 and 8-8. Philbin will finally get axed, and we'll bring in a new coach to complain about next season. And thus the cycle of mediocre football in Miami will continue.
If we win and DESTROY the Jets, then I might be able to back off the banter I've been spewing the past couple of days, but if we win and do so barely?
We face another former Dolphin, this time is a very intelligent coach that we turned down for Philbin this Sunday. Just got a feeling Bowles is going to make Tannehill's life a living hell this Sunday.. We have got to adjust. No huddle or unbalanced lines, run the ball more. I dont know, but we have to protect Tannehlll.
It's sad because I think Bowles is going to be great for the Jets. In a way I think he partially took the job just to have a shot at beating Miami. We disrespected him big time by not even considering him a viable coaching candidate and it could come back to bite us in the *** on Sunday.
You do know that nothing that you're suggesting is actually going to happen on Sunday right? This staff doesn't learn. Sent from my SM-G360T1 using Tapatalk
I lost my password so had to switch it up to the shortened name, either way this team is bad bad bad and I dont feel ANYONE deserves a pass. Noone on yhis team has played well, Landry almost gets a pass but since he had one bounce of his hands for an int screw him too. it will mean absolutely NOTHING to me if we beat the Jets. Not really interested in rallying the troops for another 8-8 and mid round pick. Get a new staff in here, draft ANOTHER OL and hope. Thats all we got.
inactive bc of injury not bc he sucks. could be back week 4 or not. to count him as a not a threat is dumb though.
i'm only concerned about who we face week 4. if he doesnt play he's not a threat. i'm not going to worry about good players holding clipboards
I expect us to beat the Jets. I think we're in for a Jekyl and Hyde type of year. The players are already saying this is a must win game. I think we'll play well and win this one. Too much talent not to get this sh!t storm straightened out. If we lose, I'm pretty we're the worst team in the AFC.
I have absolutely no confidence that we will beat the jets. We have more talent on paper but they have the superior coaching staff. Our players have shown no pride and have that dazed look. Jets will be the knock out punch. We are done. Maybe 2 wins this year. We need to blow it up and start from scratch. I hope i am wrong and my eyes are lying to me
I think we win this one too. If the DLine plays the way they should, we're still a playoff team imo. You don't really know what's what in the NFL until 4 weeks are played, imo.
So what if they beat the Jets? If you're basing the entire notion on what happened last year then we all know what the end result is. I'd rather they get embarrassed by the Jets and have a shot at being done with Philbin. Anything that prolongs his tenure as head coach of this team is a bad bad thing.
What if we beat the Jets is like saying what if Jessica Alba shows up at my house naked? It ain't happening bro.
We're not beating anyone with the defense we've had the last few weeks. That unit is going to have to start playing up to it's potential if we are going to win any games.
We will struggle to win 4-6 and I'm being serious as hell. Phillbin has lost this team and it has the same feel as Cam Cameron's tenure. We will pick in the top ten next year.
That's the truth. I don't think we've fully realized how bad this defense is. It will make any NFL offense look good. Opposing players are going to have career days against this defense all year long.
No way we stop Marshall and Decker. Besides, the coaching staff doesn't want to put too much of their new defensive scheme on tape before the week 17 game at NE.
I don't want to beat the Jets. I'd rather have a high draft pick rather than winning meaningless games like last... every season with Coach Queasy at the helm.
A win this week wouldn't surprise me. I still think this team will probably win 5 or 6 games this year, so why not beat the Jets, in what is suppose to be a home game for one of those wins. Win or lose, in the long run it will mean nothing. Philbin and this coaching staff will still be gone after this season and there will be major personnel changes over the next few years as the new head coach and his staff start to build a more talented roster.
