Asperger's Syndrome. He can't make eye contact with anyone. This is no leader of men.

I feel a little sorry for him as a person. Not as a coach though.

Bro exactly! To be honest that's why I wanted him to get more chances. Losing your child is freaking cruel. However that's why I don't hold any leadership position for any job. I'm charmin soft.

Like you said though, his time as head coach is over. The softies like me are even tired of waiting.

Haha, that does look kind of funny.

I watched the presser because it gives one a better perspective on what the coach feels. I don't get any obvious indication that he is giving up or feels like he is on the hot seat. At a time or two, he seemed a little baffled (whether at the question, or whatever), but he did take responsibility of the play. The team does look awful on the field, and I don't think it can get much worse. So there's something. McCain looked to be pulled. That's a good thing. Maybe Dallas Thomas is next?

I don't think Philbin is anywhere near getting fired at this point. Again, I may just be off, but I don't get a sense (from him) that he is on the hot seat. Reading the presser and what the media opines, things get a little muddied to make him look worse than actually seeing it. I sure as hell hope he turns it around. And I sure as hell hope some of these players who are harboring injuries come back soon. One sack on D. One sack! And maybe a couple taken away by penalty. Still, I was expecting MUCH MORE from that unit. We'll see. I'm not worried because he doesn't look worried. It is what it is at this point, so we'll see. I'm not ready to jump on that "Fire Philbin" bandwagon yet. Though, a few more games like this last one could change my mind......

The league doesn't allow that type of ownership. However, Bills fans had an inventive idea of raising money through shares in a very low interest loan to a buyer. It didn't go very far, but it would be intriguing to see it happen.

I doubt Ross puts them up for sale anytime soon. I figure he actually hates Florida and bought the team to sink them. If they win next week, I bet they give Philbin another contract extension.

After going to my first home game in more than twenty years and watching Rex's team laying it all out for a coach who they KNEW was not going to be there next year and then seeing the Dolphins just quit on their coach and each other I was done. D o n e done. That is all I've seen so far this year, players who don't believe and don't care. That's 100% on the head coach.

Who's going to replace him??? Who cares, can't be worse.

I stole it from Bpk because I find it hysterical. We are not one, but I think we have similar senses of humor...

Dancing Philbin is Sparano's Gladiator luncheon speech. 2 coaches that had no business remaining coaches of their team who relied on hokey bull**** to try and inspire teams they had already lost.

He's lost the team and should be fired to try and save the season.

But regardless of him being fired or not, Coyle must go.

Really? You don't really believe that do you? It's certainly not that simple. The Jills have more talent, especially play makers, than do our Phins.

the thing that irritates me the most coaching wise right now is our secondary coverage. Is there a team in the NFL besides the Dolphins that play their Cornerbacks off the line of scrimmage as far back as we do? I mean there are some plays it seems we are ten yards off. That's not a cushion that's a guaranteed short completion. Since when did the prevent defense become our base defense

I 100% believe that. Bills having more talent is questionable. They for sure have better coaching.

At least 2-1. At least. And we would be having a lot more fun being fans right now with Rex Ryan as a head coach than Joe "Asperger's" Philbin. We have the worst NFL coach I could imagine. No personality, no leadership skills, no coaching ability, etc. He's got the personality of Bill Belichick with the coaching ability of Rich Kotite.

Just another example of the Dolphins getting a second chance on a prospect they missed out on the first time but figured out a way to blow it again.

The worst thing about Philbin is that its apparent that he's even a failure at the one thing he was supposed to be best at - game planning. He brings nothing to the table at this point. He's way over his head and it's apparent to everyone.

I have never seen such an underperforming coach during the first 3 weeks. Zero adjustments, zero preparation, and zero respect from his players. I hope ross is happy, he has his man.

That's fine. I am definitely not defending Philbin. Aside from Landry and a few others, I'm willing to scrap the whole s--t pile, but I certainly don't think Rex alone would make them 3-0. He may certainly be more entertaining. I just don't think any coach, all by himself, is going to turn this team into a 3-0 team. I do not think this team has as many play makers. Maybe on paper, but not in reality with this team. Our LT is injured and was replaced with dog s--t. Our FS is injured and a very raw player took his place. We have another raw CB starting who got torched last week. Our rookie RB who could have made a nice compliment to Miler has been injured. The OL is just an absolute abomination. Wake has been a bit dinged up and has otherwise been pretty much nonexistent. The LBs are trash, etc, etc etc. As far as talent goes and how it currently stands. there is certainly a huge difference between the two teams.

That's a give and take issue. If you want the CBs playing tighter then you'd better have more safety help bc McCain can't run with the better WRs, as we've seen, and Grimes is suceptible too when he's not giving a solid cushion. So the question for the DC is whether to trust the LBs to cover underneath and play the run with no help? Personally I think Coyle is screwed either way.

i understand the dilemma and I'm thinking blitzing is the answer. send more guys. force the throws to come out faster. even if we play this base, eight yard ten yard cushions are a bit ridiculous. make it five yards. i mean we're dying a death of a thousand cuts.

Great post. I've been thinking the same thing. Then I put myself in Coyle's shoes and my argument falls apart. He has two issues. One, His run D is leaky. Jones has already prevented several short runs from becoming big gains. I have to think he wasn't expecting that. I do think he could see the problems at CB from a mile away tho, that's issue number two. A third issue could be his LBs aren't filling vs the run or playing the hook, curl, flats effectively.

So yeah he can blitz. That puts his shaky secondary in a bind. He can play more quarters, cover 2, 2 man, that puts his leaky front 7 in a bind. Whatever Coyle does the opposing offense is likely to have an answer. What he really needs is for Wake, Vernon and Suh to start dominating the LOS. That's the only fix I can see.

The reason we lose is simple, the last 3 drafts have been absolutely terrible outside of Jarvis Landry. The 2013 draft was a disaster.

I said before the year started both Jets games last year really showed what a terrible defensive coordinator Coyle is and how bad he is at making in game adjustments. Of course, people told me this isn't madden and it's not a simple as dropping another man in the box when they're clearly running it down your throat. But if I can see it, a f****** NFL head football coach should too but of course Quesy doesn't know s*** about that side of the ball, being an offensive guru and all. We really missed out on Quinn, thanks Ross.
