You sure as **** do when the players aren't prepared well, aren't used in the most effective roles within schemes and you get out-coached week after week. The problem, the BIG, ROOT PROBLEM, is Joe Philbin and the staff. Excise that and start fresh. It should have been done at the end of 2013, but Stephen Ross has bungled that two years in a row now. I mean, seriously, Joe Philbin thinks the reason this team doesn't start fast is because of the way they conduct their pregame warm-ups...that's telling. In a lot of ways.

They sure as he'll look better when they go to other teams. You literally just got whipped by Tyrod Taylor and a bunch of Dolphins cast offs, and you don't think coaching is the problem???

Coaching is a significant issue to be sure , it's been since day one and is still at the same lacklustre level , but it's also a lack of talent , don't cover that up so easily .

There's a lot of mediocrity on this roster.

Even Omar can get this one right:

The Dolphins' players will talk about execution and blame themselves for Sunday's flat performance. They won't point the finger at their coaching staff, or blame their struggles on injuries. But Miami's lack of heart, desire and commitment in the home opener -- against a Bills team that has all of those things coming out of every pore -- hints that this roster doesn't believe in Joe Philbin and his staff. If these type of lackluster performances continue, Steve Ross needs to consider removing Philbin.

Some of us wanted Philbin fired after last season and stated such, there were many reasons why, no need to rehash, whats done is done, he's a dead man walking, he seems like a decent man, so im not gonna call him names, but he's obviously overwhelmed and out of his league as a head coach..some of those very reasons have been talked about in this thread..

sorry Fin, you missed on this one.

no matter what anyone says it is the duty of the coach to make his team believe in him and what his staff is trying to teach...now it may take a hurculean type coach to get that kinda team in this town, but so be it.

Wasn't that a post-game quote from the Jacksonville game? Telling his players (me paraphrasing), "You have to have faith in the way we plan and prepare...". You lose them right then and there if you haven't already.

I listened to Rex Ryan's postgame conference...of a game he won 41-15 and that score being BS....he's talking about accountability of the players and how they gave up way too many yards in the 2nd half and how they have to fix that. Dude was angry when that penalty erased the fumble recovery. Meanwhile, someone just now told Philbin they lost.

So you're saying the Dolphins should have kept more of Ireland's players and hired the coach Ireland wanted?

You're better that, I know this for a fact. Don't be a hand wringer who swears they knew all along.

SUH. The transformational talent who'd single handedly make the D better, hasn't done jack ish. Less than jack ish if you consider he's making 19 million. You were all for signing him, no?

At least we got a 4 year reprieve from the "ground and pound." It didn't work but I doubt anything would have worked, not with Brady playing the way he is and the lack of talent on the team years one to three. Now the team is set up and ripe for a ground and pounder type coach to swoop in and make the team look decent in 2016.

    1. Rex Ryan just took ours, made 'em his'n, and beat ours with'em (to paraphrase)
    2. Suh is getting double and TRIPLE TEAMED. WTF do you want HIM to do??? Someone else needs to make some plays, so that they can't put three guys on him.

Today revealed a third option: don't make the adjustments at all.

I still don't understand why the players need Philbin to get them fired up. I probably never will.

This is the NFL. Players shouldn't need anything to get them pumped up except for the thrill and emotion of the game. It's Sunday. Home opener. Division rival. You should be ready to explode.

The coaching sucks, but there isn't any leadership on this team. It should be virtually impossible to be emotionless on the football field. I don't even know how that's possible.

I am always accused of being negative because I was on here for at least two years calling for the firing of Ireland. Now others have accused me of being negative because I have been stating for well over a year that Philbin is not a good head coach and should be fired.

I would love to be able to come on this forum and espouse all the positives regarding the Dolphins. Unfortunately there just isn't anything to feel positive about in regards to this team except the effort Landry shows each week. It appears I will be called out a lot more for my negative comments in the coming weeks. Because I am just not someone to sit around and act like the sky is rainbows and blue skies in regards to this team. When in reality the sky appears to be falling on top of this team.

Yeah, he does seem like a decent man, and I almost feel sorry for him...then I think, HOW can he continue to coach this team? Does he truly believe he can turn this around? Give Ross your resignation, for the good of the team.

So it's ok for you to call people whining babies last season, the offseason, pre season, and after the first 2 weeks when we complain about the offensive line, lack of preparation, lack of fire, poor 1st quarter results, poor 4th quarter results, etc., etc., etc.

But, those same people that were called whiners aren't allowed to say they saw this coming and knew all along??? Got it...Thanks

His press conf. are starting to look worse than Bill Bellichik's. Not enough fire in this guy, no emotions. He should be steaming after a loss like that. I think he's losing this locker room and things wont get better until we bring in someone new. A coach that can make this defense one of the best in the NFL....
