Pathetic. Suh, where are you? Wake? Mr Invisible Grimes? Pedestrian. Offensive line? Offensive to watch. Lazor is all hype, I don't see an offense that has any rhyme or reason, the next time I see Lamar Miller walk in to a stacked line of defenders I'm going to break a wall. Coyle? Joke of the century. Philbo, AKA Eddie Munster, is an uninspiring clown that has no ability to fire up a team. 8-8? More likely than ever after this pathetic showing.
We'll see what the Jets look like tomorrow night but right now we look like the worst team in the east. 8-8 might be overly optimistic. At least it should finally get Philbin canned.
I think the coaches are the primary problem. We have enough good players that the result should be different. The coaches just don't know how best to utilize what they have available to them.
It isn't only the coach. There is an aura surrounding the Dolphins and its not a good one. This thing has been lingering around since the mid to late 90s.(Marino/Shula retirements)
I wanted him gone last year. It's Stephen Ross, I won't count on Philbum being fired. We may be stuck with limp noodle another year... Certainly wouldn't be a surprise.
Maybe we shouldn't have built our stadium on an Indian burial ground. In hindsight that could probably cause some bad juju.
Here we go.... Lets be honest, I think we all knew it was time to do that, especially with Philbin and Coyle after last season ended.
I know I'll be labeled a hater or called not a true fan by the trolls around here, but I predicted this team would be garbage this year and that's exactly how they've played so far this year.
We'll do it a year or two too late as usual. We could have had a shot at a guy like Harbaugh or even Rex Ryan but by the time the idiot owner finally cans Philbin there won't be anybody to hire but more inexperienced coordinaters who may or may not be worth a crap.
Listening to Philbin and his speeches you can tell this idiot is fake and can't inspire this team...yet Ross keeps rolling with him. Ross needs to give the team to someone who wants to win!
Well at least we should at least get a better pick in the first round this year. A pick in the top 10 is looking more and more likely.
Tannehill is not elite. Good, yes. But elite? Elite QB's do not get strip sacked at the 1 yard line when they have more than 3 seconds to throw. Especially when a safety essentially wins the game. I don't want to hear anything about Dallas Thomas or Albert being out, that was on Tannehill.
He wanted to go to a team with a legitimate chance to get into the playoffs and possibly win the SB. Why in the world would he have ever seriously considered coming to Miami? He obviously made the right decision by signing with the Broncos.
Yup.. The sad thing is that we handicapped by an inept and uninspiring coaching staff. He would be proven incorrect if we had a half competent coaching staff. If anything, this staff is losing us 2-3 games per year and probably more if you factor in their inability to develop talent properly.
Yeah, elite QBS never get strip sacked. Like Rodgers by our crappy defense last season, or any number of other examples I'm sure could find. Tannehill was not the issue today. 350+ yards and almost a 9ypa.
I don't think he had three seconds on that play. I'm pretty sure it was shorter than that. It happened pretty quickly.
It's amazing the heat Philbin gets and maybe some deservedly so, yet Coyle pretty much gets a pass. He's the one who should be at the heart of these firing debates.
I agree. Thill is mediocre and inconsistent. Kinda like how the Dolphins have been the past 20 years or so.
You are correct. Elite QB's lead their team to more than one score in the second half. Also in 8 quarters against two very mediocre defenses, the Dolphins offense has scored a total of three TD's. Tannehill may not be the problem, but so far he hasn't proved he is the solution either.
Honestly why even waste time debating this now. No team would make the call to blow up a staff until at least 12 weeks into a season. It's a shame, but weeks from now it will still be Lazor and Coyle there. Only thing I could maybe see is philbin taking over play calling, but even then it'd still he the same playbook
In a perfect world, Tannehill would have a 158.3 rating every week. This is not a perfect world, elite QB's get harassed, get hit and improvise. They make plays and can singlehandedly win games. Tannehill cannot, end of story. He sticks to the script, he doesn't improvise and he holds on to the ball for too long when he should be sensing pressure.
The last I checked, Philbin hired Coyle and it was Philbin who decided to keep Coyle after the collapse by the Dolphins defense late last season. Philbin gets the heat because he is not a good NFL head coach and because he put together a bad coaching staff.
I am not blaming Tanny, I love him. But until he tweaks his game and delivers under pressure, he will continue to lead this team to 8-8 seasons.
Our offensive line sucks. I saw the graphic on TV. 8 straight drives each ending in a punt..... Really, 8 times? I saw offensive linemen consistently missing their blocks letting pressure getting to RT17, I saw Lamar Miller pretty much get no yards at all. At least the defense made plays, but still gave up too many penalties (Olivier Vernon at the end of the game). Total team loss. Even franks shanked one left. Sad to say its just another season of Dolphins football.
It was time to blow up the coaching staff two years ago. For some odd reason they've been prolonging the inevitable. After six straight years of going 6-10, 7-9 and 8-8...i'm not sure why we keep tricking ourselves into thinking this team will make "the leap" into the playoffs? Me included. Two games is a small sample size and it is very early in the season (and yes they won the first, barely, against Washington) but they look exactly the same as those six previous years. When its the Dolphins you really don't need much more than that. Perennial playoff contender Ravens fans can look at a poor 0-2 start and a loss to the Raiders and think "Okay, its early and it could be a freak loss". Dolphins fans? Not so much. It just looks like the same old, same old.
Lol dude, they both suck. Philbin deserves more heat because he's the ****ing head coach, Coyle is on him, Queasy gets the call on his entire staff. He coulda fired Coyle and had Ross make Jim Schwartz one of the highest paid asst coaches in the league but instead he chose to keep him.
