NFL rosters must be cut to 75 players by Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 at 4pm EST. A lot of talent will become available as the first wave wave occurs. Instead of individual threads being created to discuss the Dolphins potential interest or non interest in certain players, I figured we should house them all under one roof for discussion. So far I've found one listing w/up to date cuts over at SB Nation. List can be found here: http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2015/8/30/9225131/2015-nfl-roster-cuts-tracker-75-man-deadline edit: Can someone fix the title? Fixed
bears cut DT great, he still has a way to infect the dolphins roster at some point. pls tell me the GMs have learned he sucks.
One name that intrigues me, Fred Jackson, RB, formerly off the Buffalo Bills. It appears Jackson was cut because his 2.6 million dollar cap number and depth of the RB position w/Shady McCoy, Bryce Brown, Boobie Dixon, and rookie Karlos Williams. There's a few reasons I'm interested. 1. I'm not totally in love w/Miami's RB depth. If history and trends tell us anything, Ajayi won't see much action until he has a better grasp of his pass protection responsibilities. Neither Williams or James impressed me that much last Saturday night, especially Williams who's currently the #2 back. As runners, there was a striking difference between Lamar and Williams. Miller looked quick, decisive and confident in his game. Williams looked the opposite. He didn't show good quickness and hesitated. And I don't think James has done anything all too impressive, especially on special teams returning kicks. 2. Despite being 34, Fred Jackson still has some gas in the tank to be a #2 back. I don't think I'd rotate him every other series w/Miller (who should get 25 touches per game, rushing and receiving IMO) but he's a competent runner, can find the end zone, reliable receiver w/over 100 catches in the past two seasons, and can block. Good leadership and veteran presence too. 3. As always, bringing in players from divisional rivals helps w/game prep. Usually it's a sign and dump, but in Jackson's case, I'd hold onto him. I don't think a lot of people w/agree with me on Jackson, but I'd take a look for veteran minimum. I think we're better off w/o Williams or James, depending on the role Miami has in mind for either guy.
Wow, Bills cut Ross Cockrell. He is still PS eligible I believe. CB who could move to FS. If he doesn't get signed to a 53 I would love to see him on our PS. Really smart athletic kid.
I'm all for picking up Jackson. The guy can still play and showed it the other night even, way better back than Brown or Dixon, there's a good reason all the Bills fans are upset right now.
Personally, there is no RB I would want to cut for a 1 year rental of what may be a washed up RB, who wasn't all that good last year.
Generally I'd agree but Jackson actually caught a career high 66 balls last year. I trust him as a runner more than Williams still despite his 3.7 ypc last year, he had a really nice 41 yard run this weekend. He's a great leader too, I wouldn't mind him mentoring some of our young backs for a year.
Really hoping the Eagles cut Raheem Mostert, I want us to pick him up as running back depth and as our kick returner. Any feasible options on your guys wish list?

PIT cut 50 INTs getting but non-tackling Gerod Holliman. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/05/steelers-get-to-52-sign-a-53rd/
The Cheaters cut Jonas Gray. Want him back? http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/09/05/patriots-cut-jonas-gray/
I would take him over Gilislee, but that's about it, he's got some talent, and some problems, I liked him a lot that preseason here, when he was clearly better than Gilislee, but Gilislee was kept on draft stock. At this point I wouldn't take him over Williams or Ajayi, but would not be shocked if he caught on somewhere and figured it out and became pretty good.

so with Hakeem Nicks being cut, Green-Beckham may play a bigger role earlier than expected, might wanna grab him in fantasy right now
I liked him coming out, fwiw, he is a CFL type of player. a Db who can return kicks is a premium player in that league
still stunned they didn´t gave Bobby McCain a shot on returns, he housed 4 in college, maybe didn´t want to put to much on his plate in his rookie year
That would be a disservice to him, but the way the league works. Cb/returner makes so much sense from the game day 45 men active pov
Having your 4th or 5th CB as a primary return guy is pretty much perfect . Wonder if he had any time on returns in practice ?
in the very early process of camp he was mentioned fielding punts and kick offs, but haven´t read anything after that again
I'm assuming we will be scouring for discarded safeties and tight ends. Nick Perry apparently impressed in Ravens camp.
