I really wished they (legally) stream their show. I love what LU is doing.

WWE announced it has 1.13 million subscribers to the Network. Not sure if that's a good number or not. I still think they're doing a poor job adding older content. There's no reason why they haven't uploaded at least another year of Nitros at this point for example. And there's really no reasoning behind when they add older RAWs for example. Something they dump 5 or 6 at a time and then you have to wait weeks to get more.

I still love it, don't get me wrong, but they can be doing so much more with it.

My only real major complaint is that the buffing/freezing issues are still an issue on any Samsung product I use and it's not my internet as Netflix, YouTube, VuDu, Flixster, Hulu etc work fine.

EDIT: There's also talk about having PPVs ala carte each month for $4.99.

    $9.99 a month. It's definitely worth it.

I read a report that said they were going to pull back on old content since their research showed that those weren't too popular with viewers, so I wouldn't expect them to add a bunch of old content, anytime soon.

As for the amount of viewers they have, it was reported that this model brings them more revenue than the old PPV model, so it seems to be a success. Vince also mentioned that they will be doing more live specials ala Beast in the East.

Yeah I've heard about about the old content. I mean they would know better than I would but you'd think older content would be the biggest selling point after getting each PPV a month for $9.99 instead of whatever PPV providers charger. I still don't see why if they already converted old footage into digital they just don't dump it all on the Network instead of hanging on to it.

And yes absolutely 100% over the WWE should be doing more live specials like KOTR, EC and BitE. I wonder if they are going to show the MSG house show in October since they announced that Brock would be there.

Airing a few house shows on the WWE Network SHOULD boost attendance too, since it raises the stature of that house show, maybe even seeing a title change, like they used to do in the old days. Great idea by the WWE to expand that.

I would like to see them give the talent a few cameras and film their days as well. "A Day In The Life", might be a cool concept to see what they performers go through day in, day out. Their interactions with family, fans, traveling, working out, etc. a quick 30 minute mini-documentary of different superstars would be kind of cool.

Totally agree about the house show stuff.

Yeah the WWE had kind of been doing that stuff for the main PPV events (RR,WM, SS, SuS) focusing on a superstar or 2 and they have always been well done and interesting. But I'd like to see more of your idea where it's not so scripted. I mean the ESPN E60 piece was great, it could have been a perfect opportunity to push Adam Rose. Maybe doing something like that for a superstar they're trying to get over would do wonders.

So I haven't watched wrestling in about ten years or so and I decided to look up some stuff on the current WWE on YouTube and their is apparently some kind of albino giant ugly *** Irishman and some fat hick that walks with a lantern all the way up to the ring. There's another group of homeless Charles Manson lookalikes and someone who looks suspiciously like Khal Drogo who seems to get booed a lot for reasons that escape me. Is this group of bums the best McMahon can do?

Cesaro seems to have hit a big hot streak, hope it continues, supposedly some fans are dedicating tonight as Cesaro night, they have a decent group with signs/shirts/chants planned.

Also rumor of a Sandow Rap gimmick, and Adam Rose/Brad Maddox "fitness guru" tag team.

Super excited about a Cesaro/Owens match at SS, especially with the event being 4 hours long hopefully they have at least a 15 minute match.

    Brad Maddox is still around?

Agreed on meh on every thing. Sandow was probably better off sticking with The Miz as his lackey.

I still can't believe the WWE wasted that great E:60 piece on Adam Rose to give him a gimmick make over, and now it's just too late.

I hate to say it but all 3 guys are probably better off going elsewhere as they're all stuck in dead end gimmicks and will probably never get higher than they are now.

  26. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Maddox is indeed, still there. I always liked him so I wouldn't mind seeing him utilized in some role or another. As for Adam Rose, the worst thing I could have done was watch the E:60 piece on him as I now want him to succeed more than just about everyone on the roster. There was a weak rumor that they were going to bring Leo Kruger back as a part of the Wyatt Family. I could see that work as Wyatt can talk about how he saved another lost soul, brought Leo back from the dead to kill Adam Rose, etc., etc.

or a fitness gimmick with Brad Maddox...

Excited for Summerslam. Wonder how they're doing the cena/Rollins match and Brock/Taker.

I hope Kane interferes and screws Taker, setting up a retirement match for both at mania.

That's exactly what the world needs another terrible Taker/Kane match at WM32. Or a rumored Sheamus cash in with Rollins turning face.

Honestly I think we will see Cena win the title from Rollins in a screwy fashion to set up a rematch at NoC. And I bet Taker beats Brock with Kane's help to set up Taker/Brock 3 at WM.

So I decided to sign up for the network and while the live stream works pretty much perfectly the archival raw and smackdown shows are on an extremely crappy server that buffers all the god damn time.

Yup it's been an issue for awhile now but it's gotten really really bad since mid June. The WWE claims they are aware of the problem and are fixing it but something like this shouldn't continue to happen nor take this long to fix. The Network should work nearly flawless. It's pretty disappointing.

Rollins DESERVED the win on his own merits at SS. He outwrestled Cena by a large margin and it wasnt even really close, I see fans complaining and hating on Rollins cuz of the way he won on other websites but fact is, blame creative team for letting Cena kick out of EVERYTHING, Rollins should of been allowed to pin Cena over 3 times in the match convincingly but of course Super Cena is allowed to kick out of everything and making Rollins win in a screwy way instead of letting him win clean.

Rollins is a chicken crap heel, its better for his character if he cheats to win ala Flair. It puts more heat on him that way. With that being said I don't get why the WWE had John Stewart help him, it kind of doesn't make any sense at all.

So yeah about the finish to Taker/Brock, that was a bit of a train wreck and poorly executed (how could the time keeper even see Taker tap?) and pretty much went against Undertaker's character for the last 20 years but it obviously sets up the rematch for WM or whenever they decide to run with it. By the way I think the WWE/Michael Cole spoiled the ending to the match as Cole said at the beginning that Brock hasn't been pinned or submitted since WM29, that kind of triggered the light bulb in my head since he could have easily just said lost. I figured at that point Taker would choke Brock out and win because Brock passed out.

Overall Summer Slam was a good but unmemorable PPV. Really like the Rollins/Cena, Taker/Brock (minus the ending), Cesaro/Owens and tag match. The only poor match was the IC title match.

Also rumor is Sting flew back to NY from Chicago last night and might be on RAW.

Undertaker apparently collapsed/fell down around the entrance way after the match with Brock. No word as to why (whether it was an angle or what).

I liked parts of Summer Slam. Orton/Sheamus was okay. The tag match was good. New Day continues to be amazing. Ziggler/Rusev was fine. Amell exceeded my already high expectations. The Triple Threat was serviceable. The Wyatt/Bromance tag match was pretty good. Rollins vs. Cena had all kinds of things working in it. The Divas match had some moments. Owens vs. Cesaro was enjoyable, and Undertaker/Brock went to war.

But man, it feels like the definition of a "treading water" PPV. We had 3 matches with clustery finishes. Rollins/Cena and Taker/Brock were both awkward finishes to otherwise really good matches. The Divas match was really disjointed, and failed to tell a story. That's been the biggest problem with the "Divas Revolution" - you can't simply hashtag a movement, give them more time, and expect things to fix themselves. You actually have to book things cohesively. I was hoping for something shocking - a MITB cash in, an Ambrose or Reigns heel turn, a Sting appearance, something - but overall it was pretty much the status quo, and almost boring. It's unfortunate because they had the opportunity to establish some momentum and change things up, and I feel like they failed to do that. I went into Summer Slam excited for the action but apprehensive for the booking. Last night did nothing to change that.

I personally felt like the NXT Takeover show exceeded Summer Slam all the way around, both in terms of in-ring product and storytelling. My only complaint about it was that Bayley/Sasha should have closed the evening as opposed to Owens/Balor.
