I'm checkin' out the prices for season tickets for giggles, and I'm curious about something (never been to the stadium).

Why are 200 level seats more expensive than 100 (120 seats = $1039, 220 seats = $2443)? Just looking at the seat-viewer, I'd much rather be in 120, or is that not a good spot?

not sure what to make of those living room box seats... what happens when it rains with the TV's? And the wood paneling from the 70s?...but $75k for 4 seats for the season... and someone actually paid that... good for the Dolphins...

and those 50 yard line seats look sweet though.

Well it's a great thing the put in those little TVs for those really close 50 yd line seats. I mean how else are you supposed to watch the game?

The sun will destroy those before the rain does. Enter the canopy in 2016 and the sun will never touch them again.

Think you're more comfortable on the couch? The @dolphins new seats at the 50 yard line beg to differ''

This is just philosophically the wrong approach when redoing a stadium..I know everyone will disagree because they sold the seats, but you have to look beyond that, and what consists of achieving a true home field advantage...wifi, cozy recliners and tvs in front of you is not whats going to make people leave their living rooms, those are just the rich people who would of bought suites anyways, what would make the majority give up their homes and buy tickets would be a true difference maker in the home field advantage dept, and theres only one way to achieve that..

It really looks stupid...I can only imagine everyone around them standing and cheering and their sitting there checking their tvs and iphones, guess what, thats likely not to happen, im sure they will be inclined to follow whats going on around them, which makes doing this living room stupidity a moot project..

the superbowl committe will love it, and it will bring money an superbowls back to miami, which is good..we appeased, well done.

i understand that point..but thats not the point I was trying to get across...Intimacy thru design would attract and sell more seats, create more revenue becuse of how the advantage would build and sustain the culture, fans becoming one with a team in a competitive situation is a powerful thing, that true advantage is only attainable thru specific design, much more than making living room sections in the middle of the lower bowl.I understand I'm being hyper critical but them coming out and saying were trying to recreate what its like to be in your living room with + benefits and wanting to create a real home field advantage is counter intutive...so they di the next best thing..they did both, they moved some concrete closer, and appeased the rich with some unneccesary fluff.

And what I'm saying is that our market wants these type of amenities. They don't want to be crammed in and sit in hard plastic seats in the sun. They want comfort and luxury... so we gave it to them. That doesn't make them bad fans... they just value things you don't believe they should care about...

It's actually great for when in the heart of all the non-action...

There is SO much down time at a game. One team scores... commercial break. Kickoff... back to commercial break. 3&out... another commercial break. It's terrible...

Having other games to watch during all the down time would be sweet... and doesn't take away from any home field advantage.

There are people making it sound as tho we have completely lost home field advantage.

Perhaps the home record the next few years will tell the real story.

Catering to the "rich" has sunk us!

Yeah Deej what Nasty said. There is plenty of time to check in on other games during all the stoppage time throughout the game. And we have to remember there are casual fans that go to games also that aren't so crazy like you and me, trying to appeal to everyone.

At $75,000 for 4 seats for 10 games (9 this year due to London game), we are talking about $1,875 per seat. If those were regular $150 seats, you'd have to sell 12.5 for each one of these to equal that revenue. And the people buying even the $150 seats are ones who tend to want some luxury and tend to not be the loudest fans. Those will likely be corporate-owned seats anyhow. And, needless to say, there is no way to cram in 12.5 seats in place of each one of those.

I understand your aversion and I certainly wouldn't pay that for those seats, but I don't think the case can really be made that regular seats would generate more revenue.

Ross is going to invest 400 million dollars of his own money in to this project. They deserve the extra income these seats are going to generate and it caters to the ultra wealthy South Florida clientele. Put a winning team on the field and the new stadium is going to ****ing rock. Add the canopy and the closer to the field seats and it may come close to the old OB. Stop being negative, this stadium is going to rock our worlds. Guaranteed.

I think the stadium is brilliant and a great idea.

I absolutely think this will attract people to the stadium. It clearly has because ticket numbers are killing the past seasons.

Personally, all that matters is getting fans into the stadium. Once you're in there, the beer/concessions and experience take over. It's not like we're going to have a section just sitting down doing nothing, while the rest of the stadium is cheering for the team.

And Miami isn't the only team doing this. Every stadium is building more amenities for fans that A) would much rather watch their games at home or at a bar and B) play fantasy football.

its really not about the seats that would replace those lazyboys and how much they would generate, its about doing everything possible to create a true homefield advantage and then see what that brings you from a cultural standpoint..My theory is if you make the fans interactive with the game{not looking at tvs, checking wifi, or sitting on asses} if you get them close to the action, human elements will take over, being so close to the action causes reactions and behavior thats different from those who are farther away, players play differently when fans are closer to the action then when their farther away..

Im happy Rush, they moved concrete closer, and they added a roof, two things that we desperately needed to do, and they did what they needed to do to recoup with the recliners, im strictly talking about something very specific.

the atmoshere dynamic will change because some concrete was moved...it will def affect the players positively, they have never felt what a decent home field advantage feels like.

But you were saying having regular seats there would generate more revenue. It wouldn't.

As others have noted, there is A LOT of downtime at NFL games. Virtually everyone in the stadium has a smartphone and they will be checking them, looking for FF info, etc. no matter what you do with the stadium. Every stadium and arena in the country has big video screens and people are going to look at them no matter what you do. Giving a few hundred rich people cushioned seats or their own video monitors (rather than forcing them to "share" the giant video screens with the "regular" people) will have virtually no effect on the stadium environment.

As I understand it, the fans will now be as close to the action as possible in this stadium. Not sure what else they could have done in that regard.

I have a good friend who went to a Cowboys game soon after they built their new venue. He said you have no choice but to look at that jumbotron. It is so in your face, it's like a big distraction. As a result, most end up watching the game on those monster screens, instead of looking down at the live action on the field.

Really looking forward to when they get serious in another couple of years and incorporate theme parks rides into the stadium. Imagine going to a football game and riding something like the Revenge of the Mummy ride. It'll be great. Deej can stand for hours in the sweltering heat screaming and rooting for the Dolphins before he gets plunged in total darkness, plagued on all sides by huge fireballs, sprayed with water, attacked by swarms of scarab beetles (with Dolphins logos on them) and then facing an army of warrior mummies. Go DJ!!!

The Dolphins can work with Universal Studios and take all the terrifying thrills and spine-tingling excitement of The Mummy motion pictures and place you, the Die-hard Dolphin fan, right in the middle of the action. Come face to face with the Mummy as he attempts to capture DJ's soul for all eternity. Can DJ survive the awesome power of Imhotep's curse? Football game? What Football game?

That's what I've heard too. And if that was the complaint about the renovations, I could see it to some degree. But I don't see/hear anyone complaining that the screens are too big or too prominent. You certainly can't have what anyone would call a state-of-the-art stadium without big video screens.

IMO the seating will actually create more of what you are looking for. It will get more fans into the stadium, rather than having empty seats.

This isn't even about the extra revenue - it is about the NFL live experience being eroded by the home experience. Across the league fans are choosing to stay home rather than attend live games. What Miami is doing will help get those fans back into the stadium.

I'm not so sure about that. The people who really prefer to watch games at home will continue to prefer that. I think the seating alterations will have little impact on that. I do think, however, that the roof/canopy in 2016 will bring in some extra people who just can't stand the heat without it. It won't be the hardcore "sofa watchers" but rather people who prefer going to games over watching at home, but have been deterred by the heat for the 1 pm games.

Don't agree. I have not been to a Sunday afternoon game in years. Why? Because I want to watch 10 games at once. I want to follow the games I'm betting on. I want to follow all my fantasy players. There is no better experience IMO than watching 10+ games on a Sunday afternoon.

I am definitely more inclined to attend Sunday afternoon games now. I have the ability to watch all the games. I have a charger for my phone. I have the best of both worlds essentially.

Well, you have those things if you are willing to pay $1875 per seat per game for the 72 Club living room seats. Are you?

In the regular seats you won't really be watching all the games. And if you are (on your phone), DJ will find you and smite you for ruining the stadium atmosphere.
